Y'all. I'm Adam and I'm a multidisciplined digital artist with a preference for hard surface and environment art. Follow me to see my inane ramblings on everything from CRT graphic design to 3d art to games design. All my opinions also suck!

You have to make this low poly with FOUR POLYGONS and you CAN'T USE AN ALPHA MAP and if you don't your tech lead will KILL YOU
You have 15 minutes.
I'm trying to do some breakdown shots of this and as disgusting as this is I can't figure out a way to make this more presentable. I've always found vehicle artists are too secrative about their mesh maps. Hopefully this strikes a balance between beauty and feasability.
I've released a remastered version of my radio asset, accompanied alongside some breakdown images to properly demonstrate what's happening with the asset behind the scenes.
"After careful consideration, we will not be moving forward with your candidacy for this position" bro I applied yesterday the only thing you considered was what you were eating for lunch
Posting all those wireframes made me take a step back and take a look at one of the assets I have on my folio. For what it was for, I thought the polycount *okay*, but it's not great for a game production so I thought - what can we do if we take the polycount seriously?
It's

again! I'm Adam and I'm a multifaceted artist with a penchant for Hardsurface and Environment Art, and potentially an author next, who knows! I'm also looking for freelance gigs so if you're in the need for my skills let me know!
I've posted a breakdown of some of the elements in my Byzantine Church - mostly focusing on texturing, modelling and scene creation.
You can find it on Switchboard's GitBook here :)

Mid Century Data Centre Pack. Had a lot of fun on this project, but had to really cut back on the scope of it for my sanity. Absolutely stellar contributions from the Switchboard artists on this though - was really great to see them flex their modelling chops for it.
It is absolutely heartbreaking looking up reference and trying to find concept artist's work on Google/Pinterest these days and have it absolutely flooded with AI art that is not particularly useful for anything.
I made the moped on the left like 7 years ago in uni, a few years later I actually bought the exact model and tried again to recreate it. The HP is like 80% finished. I really wanna finish it up and do a comparison of my progression since then.
One of my favourite props from the church scene is relatively unassuming & it's barely visible in any of the screenshots, but it just oozes personality in my opinion.
A fun little task in 3D is when I make an asset with a hard to spell name and I have to do everything in my power to learn how to spell it every time I save a file. Chandlear? Chandlier? Chandeleier? Chandelier??
Nobody knows.
Any tips for tank tread lowpolys? I'm thinking I'll just lod it, but these treads go up to.

The 50k ones are *really* pushing the poly limits. The 95k just blows it out of the water lmao
Part 2 of a trip down memory lane/my journey in 3D. We pick up at the end of 2017. I'd just moved to back in with my parents and I decided to try another environment. For some reason this environment was a step back in my skill. It did *not* come out that well, I was very rusty.

I don't think it's fair to dunk on new grads so unabashedly. Kind of ugly to punch down from your privileged position. The barrier to entry has gotten exponentially higher over the last decade and courses have NOT kept up with that. You look like an ass 'dunking' on fresh talent.
No disrespect to the artist's individual talents but the top three winners in the character art category for the 'Neo-Tokyo' challenge are all skinny girls with katanas while every single honourable mention goes way harder in almost every single way. Judges asleep at the wheel.

More on Arstation :)
High/Low wires. Sitting around 65k for it currently which gives me a lot of room for the tracks. Definitely areas that could be improved, but it's a balancing act throughout the entire process.
Currently at:
1 4x4k - Yellow
3 2x2k - RG+B
2 1x1k - Tracks and White (Not pictured)

This is so sad. These assets aren't my favourite thing to make, but I still enjoy the process of figuring out their little intricacies. This is such a pathetic program to witness develop.
Every year or so I'll go back and check my old university's forum that they host to encourage students to share work and get feedback. It's less used these days cause of garbage like Discord, but luckily it still has most of my old uploads, so let's take a trip down memory lane.
If anyone's interested in what I'll be moving onto after Norway, this should give you an idea.
Opening the project just now made me realise one thing though:
Not enough brutalism.
I've written and deleted about 14 tweets about this and none of them would pass Twitter's content violation team regarding my opinions/aspiriations for Lars Wingefors.
At a glance you'd think this is crappy videogame environmental cue, right?
Well, it's an official WW2 map from the beaches of Normandy invasion.
So go ahead, next time your story feels too blatant, just remember this is an *actual* military document from the government.
Hoping to adjust the workflow for upcoming asset packs. Had to take a step back and evaluate how we produce things. Hopefully can start producing things at a better and higher rate :)
In January I made halving inflation this year my top priority.
I did that because it is, without a doubt, the best way to ease the cost of living and give families financial security.
Today, we have delivered on that pledge.
@ArtOfPilgrim
This is how Maya works cause it loads it into a new file that it pastes from, the funny bit is because pasting is so shit in Maya you sometimes end up pasting something from 5-6 MONTHS ago by mistake.
Hey all, I've decided that I'd much rather stay freelance these days, so if you're looking for an environment/hard surface games artist to help out on your projects, don't hesistate to reach out.
Does anyone like living in the idea of their projects in their head more than making them? I be out here just straight daydreaming and playing games in my mind.

@WillFaucherVFX
's Easyfog a quick shot on this scene. I gotta say I do not regret buying it the second it hit the marketplace, super straightforward peice of kit for bullshots.
@keyframequeen
I immediately knew what deranged little weirdo you were on about. He's such a weirdo he doesn't deserve anything but ridicule across all creative fields.
This is a 6 year old project now - and was one of the first environment projects I completed by myself, from scratch. Naturally, I was also obsessed with
@simonstalenhag
at the time too.
