Apparently my teacher dislikes the foliage on my enviro because I'm using planes and that's "cheap" he wants me to build the canopies leaf by leaf, I've already sacrificed a lot of optimization for the sake of what the school wants, I'm giving no more, foliage will be cheap.

I guess another year seeing a bunch senior positions but extremely few companies willing to introduce a damn junior, hope next year I get my chance cause damn, already 2 years waiting while doing portfolio and only seeing senior opportunities 😅
So there we go, next 3D project, will be replicating this beautiful artwork by Sylvain Sarrailh made for the upcoming game Danghost, this post will be a wip thread cause I've seen some cool people that I follow do it and I want to hop on the train! 🧵
It is a bit dirty and not fully functional/exact as the original clock (last image is the original reference) but since I had no more than 4 hours to do this thing and it's only going to be seen from a front angle I'm more than happy with the end result
If anyone wonders, I'm not dead, I'm doing lighting stuff for master's degree, lighting this scene as close as posible to Sylvain's Sarrailh original concept art (3d models belong to my school)

Seeing tileable textures in viewport is such fun fr, won't be adding macro to the roughness map since the floor isn't even going to be visible but it's cool to have it there
I had "graduated" one week ago, not officially because they want me to wait 3 months to send my final master's degree work, but I'll be looking for work from now on since I literally have nothing to do in those 3 months until that
After 5 hours of render (half of 'em went to trash cause I've seen an object missplaced) I've got this thing, I think they want me to edit it in nuke, please god save me, not nuke again

Today I've rejected a job offer, it was a very good offer but I don't feel I can give those folks what they need, gotta work harder on optimization and and technicalities for enviro, otherwise I think I will be a burden anywhere I go
Had to go back to zbrush and add those details in the back, forgot about them, I played with mixing the uv's with the other hero asset but I think it's gonna be way more optimized if I have the other asset with a 512 map instead of it being packed with the EG-1
Hating composition work, teacher is harsh and a perfectionist and now he comes out telling us that he enjoys playing with midjourney and stable diffusion, fuck sake I have to listen to this dude for 3 months
I'm cooking something, don't think it's going to be a good portfolio piece at all since I have to check certain requirements set by school but I'll try to make something pretty (character and animation are not mine but textures, hair and clothes will)
Shapes are done! Time to pivot to highpoly, shape modeling sits at 1800 verts, pretty comfy, maybe will push to a lower polycount when I'm at the lowpo stage

School haves it's pride on cinema but also mentors for videogames, well, they are supposed to do because they don't, every single videogame optimization related thing that I do gets immediately rejected KEKW

Highpoly pass done, I still don't know if I'll dent or add imperfections to this high poly since it is a fancy and expensive grinder which you should be taking extreme care of, but we'll see, by now I'm happy that shapes are on place with their booleans and polishes
It feels amazing to be able to model stuff while wrapping my head around optimal ways of it working properly on a game engine, like it makes me happy to create things that my younger me would had appreciated being able to play cause I had such a toaster of a laptop

Dunno who to ask since I see everyone has already been tagged so I'll add 3 buds but feel free to quote my tweet!
Today I've made a little discovery playing with zbrush's dynamesh utility plugin, I tend to have little cylinders around my hard surface and dynamesh always give them a low amount of polygons to work with, so tried to toggle "Use Auto Scaler" and fixed the thing by sizing it
I had no idea how far my tantrum about my teacher would reach, thanks to everyone's words and advise I have a better mindset today so thanks a bunch for sticking out!
Today I've received the super valuable information, which for a lot of you may seem stupid and obvious that shades are ALWAYS more saturated than fill and highlights on an image
Had the most horrible time with some stuff going on with my computer and decided to backup things to reset all of my drives, I backed everything up, spent a lot of my making sure my art folder was in order, I spent so much time that I forgot to back it up, time to model all again
CGMA Project status: DONE!🎉
This has been a long 3 months but I have learned so much. A massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported me! 😊

I've been last 2 years sending applications to more than a hundred companies and just two of 'em told me that I got rejected, not even feedback, as of today I know why I'm (still) not the best candidate but I don't think asking for feedback is too much (speaking from ignorance.)

So far looks like my laziest year, but in reality only on social media, this year has been a wild ride, finishing school, doing my final project and trying to learn lots of new things, let's see how we roll next year, probably in 3D too finally.

Yeah, also there is the fact that a student that has already payed a bunch of money on education (I wish I didn't) won't have much more in order to buy upgrades for it's computer, it's borderline stupid imo
Headset right tilt broke and keeps on tilting outside my ear, cannot hear if it's outside and hurts my ear as it presses my glasses in my head, so I decided to put some duct tape with a pen in order to force the direction of the speaker, looks funny so I drop it as reference
Did some prelighting to get an early rough idea and xgen hair, I know, it looks hella bad, sadly it will stay this way since they ain't letting me do thins outside xgen

Congrats on those deserved followers mate! Those are some of my 3D works, car is currently on rendering progress that's why it is a substance painter render.
So opera GX added mods to the browser, now I have creamy keyboard sound while I type, saul goodman staring into my soul when I open new tabs and the best feature, pipe sounds for when I close and open tabs.
Context for the pipe thing, I'm currently doing an art test, I love my pipes but not a huge amount in such a short period without getting paid, although I must endure, a chance is a chance!
