Sorry Mr Hunt. That is pure jingoism.

When NHS staff who raise concerns are ignored. Patients are harmed. And die. Serious concerns should be collated and investigated. Doctors should not need "courage" to pursue concerns. Shameful

In what kind of a health service are complaints made anonymously. Complaints involves a 2-way conversation, investigation, feedback, outcome etc. I don't want my concerns disappearing into the NHS black hole. It's bad enough as it is.

A man has died. A great man, though he was never honoured as that. To the NHS hierarchy and their lawyers he was a thorn in the side. To the whistleblower community he was an example of integrity, of total honesty, fortitude and endurance. A man of the people. Rest in peace Les.
Sorry
@MattHancock
we've had enough of "stronger" leadership. We need kinder and more intelligent leadership. The NHS is riddled with bullying and staff too afraid to breathe.
This is what happens. Those who expose scandals in the UK are drawn into establishment circles and tamed with accolades and honours. We'll done Alan and Jo. Stay wild. And crazy.

At the weekend, I tweeted about the silence on the situation re Covid in London. With the help of many today I've done 3 separate pieces which I think tell a concerning story.
First is a major incident being declared at one hospital:

Wonderful. Winters over. It's Spring. The trees are in blossom. I wish you a long warm summer and an Autumn that bears the fruit of your deepest hopes.

@WB_UK
Once again. It's the combination of Whistleblowers and ethical reporting that exposes NHS cover-up of deaths and patient harm. More evidence of the failure of

After raising concerns

they offered me a sweetener & good reference. If I left & signed an NDA. Otherwise, a disciplinary.

I can’t work as a nurse. I raised concerns about a man who sexually harassed me, and others. I lost my registration. He can still work. I can’t. I was a Band 7 triply qualified nurse. Valuing nurses directly impacts on patient safety. I hope he doesn’t hurt anyone else

Excess deaths is the tip of the iceberg of human suffering. Avoidable harm & injury. Delayed ops for painful, disabling conditions. Trolly waiting. Anxiety. Fear. Anger. Stress. Helplessness. And so on.
Bereaved families face a wall of silence in NHS negligence cases. The trusts are lawyered up at public expense. Doctors have their defence societies. Parents only have the truth. And the love that drives them to expose that truth. Read tweets

today.
Medical negligence lawyers on conditional fee agreements don’t take on cases that have no basis. The NHS and MDU defend the indefensible as a matter of course. They muddy the water and hope to outlast families - emotionally and financially.

It has been almost 10 years since Dr Chris Day raised serious patient safety concerns over poor staffing and supervision on an Intensive Care Unit in South East London.
Whatever you do this weekend take five minutes to read this

article about her daughter Martha. Probably the most heartbreaking thing you’ll ever read.
In one case, stickers with new expiry dates have been put on PPE that expired in 2016. Staff have been “told off” by managers for asking about PPE. GPs often seem to have zero access. Fit testing often not done or results ignored.
I love it when we have grandchildren staying over. Even when they are asleep in bed I sense the rise and fall of their breathing. Their presence fills the whole house like honeysuckle. Or incense. I can hardly sleep tonight for excitement. But I must try. Night all.
Was happy when I made this video but it turns out the signed & sealed Court order granting leave to challenge the settlement in my whistleblowing case was a CLERICAL ERROR!
We have applied under CPR 52.3 to re-open the case
