Can I ask your opinion on something important to me that I don’t want to get wrong? I am considering getting a rescue kitten, or perhaps 2 to keep each other company, but if I do she/they would have to be indoor cats for their whole lives. My flat’s quite big. Fair or unfair?

I finally moved into my new flat in Glasgow. And r-e-l-a-x That’s me retired aged 56. No more NHS lawyering (30 years was more than enough), just full-time writing fiction from now on. Feeling lucky and positive about it. A fresh new start after a difficult couple of years.

This whole business of me taking my 83 year old mum Christa out 2 long afternoons a week for a drive in the beautiful countryside around Glasgow and a long, lazy, delicious lunch. - Who ever looked back after their mother died and thought, “I wish I’d spent less time with Mum.”?

@edelfaherty Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. It was falling softly upon the Bog of Allen and, further westwards, softly falling into the dark mutinous Shannon waves. It was falling too upon every part of the lonely churchyard where Michael Furey lay buried.
