If you’re getting your genotype tested in Nigeria pls go to a lab that does HB electrophoresis or HPLC testing for accurate results. Your current genotype may not be your genotype. Many Nigerians are victims of this and this has led to many sickle cell births. Get tested again!

Bone marrow transplant has been the only treatment for SICKLE CELL but soon there may be a new cure that attacks the disorder at its genetic source. Today the FDA reviews a gene therapy for the inherited blood disorder. If approved it’ll be the first gene therapy based on CRISPR

The lady whose genotype was AA days ago tested again and it’s AS Redo your genotype test in a reliable Lab and insist on HB electrophoresis or HPLC for accurate result. A country with the largest population of sickle cell disease globally shouldn’t be this sloppy with genotype.
