My new (co-authored) book on Sir Robert Menzies. The perfect read to celebrate the 80th anniversary of his immortal ‘Forgotten People’ speech. Available through Melbourne University Publishing
No voter: I’m voting No because we have no details on this Voice.
Yes voter: Wrong. It’s outlined in detail in the Calma-Langton report. Read it.
No voter: Ok, I read the report and I now see that this Voice is much bigger and more powerful than we have been led to believe, so
Little Australia rears its stupid, ugly head again. We just can’t stand people who don’t fall into line with our pusillanimous, satrap politicians, journalists, and bureaucrats. First it was Novak Djokovic, a man of principle in a time of mass hysteria and civic betrayal. Now
No voter: This Voice is so confusing.
Yes voter: Just check out the Uluru Statement and the Calma-Langton report.
No voter: Ok, I read them both. They say it’s about a Treaty, the Voice has unlimited scope, it’s to parliament AND executive, and there should be 36 Voices all up.
Northern Territory overwhelmingly rejecting the Voice. What happened to the single most important argument of the Yes campaign: 80% of Indigenous Australians are in favour?
The Voice was NEVER going to win. It was far too radical a proposal for Australians to accept. Concerns of the No campaign were always dismissed as mere prejudice and misinformation. The Yes campaign was all feelings and couldn’t answer the most basic question: why should we
Who’s ok with the usually level-headed Stan Grant effectively expelling an Australian citizen from a tax-payer-funded building and programme, who was invited, was not disruptive or incendiary, and who said nothing slanderous or illegal? What happened to our civic rights?
Alex Hawke justifies banning Djokovic from Oz because his views might confirm the views of the 10% of Aussies who are not getting vaccinated. Alex Hawke is a therapeutic totalitarian who has no understanding of free speech. Alex Hawke is a canker on freedom in Oz.
Before we all break into “C’mon Aussie, c’mon” because of high vaccination rates, to avoid self-delusion let’s carry out a national survey to see how many Aussies got V’d purely voluntarily, and how many had their consent extracted by threats of job loss and indefinite lockdowns
Instead of virtue signalling comments like “Men should hold men accountable” and “Men, do better”, could we actually have Some helpful data on the murders of the 30 women in Australia? To kick it off:
* Was alcohol or drugs involved?
* Are there geographical (remoteness)
People need to see how easily Australians slip into an authoritarian, vengeful mindset. We can be a very nasty, petty, reactive people, and boy was that pathology exploited and on display during Covid.
People have been losing their jobs for nothing. The Lancet publishes a paper arguing that there’s no evidence of a significant difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated in terms of spreading Covid. Oops.
Weirdly Australians are reluctant to significantly change their constitution on the advice of celebrity athletes, actors, singers, professional victims, and activists who for decades have not improved conditions for Indigenous Australians.
@Kon__K
Bro, pay attention. Indigenous Australians were divided on it. NT votes against it. Ashamed of being Australian? Ridiculous. This is one of the most peaceful, safe, and tolerant countries in the world.
Some people apparently need to be told by a judge that firing rubber bullets on unarmed, fleeing Australians, strangling women, arresting women and putting them in solitary confinement, pepper spraying people who aren’t threatening the police, and fining people for leaving their
Unjabbed nurses lost their jobs. They never got Covid and didn’t spread it to colleagues and patients. Jabbed nurses keep their jobs; many of whom have got Covid and spread it. Because science, and we’re all in this together. Jingoism hasn’t been this strong since WWI.
“Misinformation” from the Yes side:
1. The Voice is a “modest proposal”;
2. We know the Voice will greatly improve things
3. The referendum has nothing to do with a treaty
4. Indigenous Australians have no voice
5. We know c.83% of Indigenous Australians support the Voice
This photo was taken in 1985. Notice the First Fleet ship as part of the branding. I doubt you could do this today as it would be considered just racist colonialism. It’s amazing how much we’ve been taught to hate our country and heritage over the past 40 years. If the Voice gets
That’s right. It was illegal. Compensate those who were fired from their jobs and those who suffered in any way from the mandates. To those who supported this or who knew it was wrong and didn’t speak out: repent, repent, repent.
Request to the Voice lobby. Kindly list 10 policy suggestions widely accepted by Indigenous Australians that you have good reason to think will dramatically improve substance abuse, domestic violence, unemployment, violence, and school attendance in disadvantaged communities.
Progress =
* Whites feeling guilty for crimes they never committed
* Drag queens reading stories to our kids
* Mothers working full-time with strangers minding their children
* Boys being told their masculinity is dangerous while girls are told they’re superheroes
* Chemical
It’ll be a cultural historian’s dream to explain why Australia went so insane. Truth is that a lot of Aussies loved every minute of it. It brought them meaning, righteousness, and an enemy. And the enemy wasn’t Covid, it was those who dared to think
Let me be blunt. The only thing shocking about what’s going on in Victoria is that some people still seem shocked by it. As if there’s been little be get alarmed over during the past five months. Vaxx mandates, informing on neighbours, suspension of civil liberties. Wake up.
Alex Antic exposing the tyranny of the misinformation laws. An excellent man who has exposed the excesses and injustices of the Covid response the past 3 years.
The Voice’s enthusiastic supporters might have scrutinised the proposal and its justification more carefully. Did it not occur to them that Australians would want mechanical details, would want to know how it would help Aborigines, and would be adverse to a sovereign Treaty? This
Happy Federation Day, Australia! Today is when we officially became Australia and stopped being a collection of colonies. It's one of the greatest moments in our history and it's worth celebrating every Jan 1st. It's also a great way to begin to celebrate Australia Month - 1 Jan
1/ Some are saying the Victorian election result was rigged. It wasn’t. This isn’t Arizona. The only reason someone could be shocked at the Victorian election outcome is if they misjudged Australians to be freedom loving. Aussies like freedom, but they don’t love it.
Remember the Eureka Rebellion when Aussies actually cared about what their governments did? We’re in a different Oz now. God bless those who are still standing up.
I think one of the worst things this nation can do is spend another thirty years banging on about reconciliation. Drop it. Move on. Focus first and foremost on integration of indigenous Australians into the mainstream economy. If we still want a Christian word to use start
Watch as Noel Pearson sets Indigenous Australians up to see rejection of the Voice as Australians slapping away their hand of friendship. What Pearson does here is manipulative and despicable.
"I cannot believe we still live in an Australia where that hand would be just slapped aside. This unrequited love is my worst nightmare."
Leading Yes Campaigner Noel Pearson doesn't believe Australians will reject the offer of the Indigenous Voice

Yes advocates say it’s misinformation that there’s a connection between the Voice and a treaty, even though the Uluru Statement says a treaty is the culmination of agenda and Voice architects advocate for treaty and reparations. Same Yes advocates say that the No case is really

You’re a cry bully. You started this and then cried victim when you copped it back. And now you’re opportunistically using it to destroy an enemy. You have no credibility in this at all.

Why didn’t you also “fact-check” her claim that the positive legacy of colonialism abides? You basically dismiss it in a sentence by saying that not all Indigenous Australians have the basics. Fine, but then why not dismiss the negative colonial legacy in the same way? - ie many
PLEASE SHARE: What the Uluru Statement (US) and the Calma-Langton Report (CLR) clearly say about the Voice. As you will see, this is far from a “modest” proposal. It’s a sweeping reform of our whole legislative and bureaucratic system at ALL levels of government. Page numbers

do you see a need to expose kids to sex, homosexuality, and anti-Christian bigotry?

Stop talking about Aboriginal Australians as though they are all the same. Frankly, that’s just plain racist. The Age ran a survey this week saying only 59% support the Voice. Indigenous Australians are divided on it. The NT has overwhelmingly rejected it. Stop conjuring up an
Voice advocates spent the last year telling Indigenous Australians that they had no hope apart from this Voice. The Voice is dead. Now many of them are telling them that Australia hates them. With friends like these, it’s no wonder so many Indigenous Australians are struggling.
Easily one of the saddest displays of generational imbecility I’ve ever seen. The girls in the audience smiling and clapping are especially brainwashed.
The Yes campaign has been little more than emotional appeals, emotional blackmail, athletes sharing their feelings, unsubstantiated promises, accusations of racism, and outright lies about the actual agenda. It will crash on the 14th. My gut says a national result of 60%-65% No.
Just a reminder, unvaccinated QLD teachers broke no laws or even rules in remaining unvaccinated. They were told to get vaccinated on pain of losing their jobs. They chose to lose their jobs. There is absolutely no justification to punish them by reducing their pay. Vindictive.
To everyone spooked at the Covid numbers and pining for lockdowns and mask mandates again, there’s a really easy way for you to be safe: stay home. Take personal responsibility for your own safety rather than turn our country into a prison again. Happy New Year 🥳
The Voice referendum will function mythically for today’s left as the 1975 Whitlam Dismissal did for the Baby Boomer leftists. The rage will never abate, the blame will never cease, the revenge will never end, the self-reflection will never happen.
@LucyTurnbull_AO
You severely misread Australia on this and now the elite supporters of this ridiculous Voice will be responsible for all the cynicism, demoralisation, and division that results from its defeat. Pure hubris.
@bobjcarr
They have guaranteed access to all parliaments through our ministers for indigenous affairs. Australia spends nearly $40billion per year on Indigenous concerns and you want us to believe that they’re voiceless.
Imagine a horder’s house goes ablaze because it’s full of junk and paper and a spark sets it off. You can try to prevent it happening again by turning up the air conditioning to lower the temperature or you can declutter the house. That’s the debate we’re having right now.
We have a Liberal immigration minister deporting a man whose views on Covid vaccinations he deems dangerous. Only problem is that Djokovic’s views are shared by at least 100s of thousands of Australians. How long until any public criticism of the vaccines is deemed “dangerous”?
Leftist racists see Indigenous Australians as one great mass of victimhood, need, and helplessness. Of course, leftist racists also carry the burden of being their saviour.
