Claimed that attributing health disparities to "racism & racial discrimination" suggests "the authors come in w a preconceived political bias & not an objective
scientific view of the evidence." 🙃

Low-income students can't afford to do research unpaid unless they make tons of other sacrifices while *also* trying to learn + exist.
You read that correctly:
There has been *no* change in the % Native American, Black, Latinx, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders in surgical (AND non-surgical) residency programs since 2010.

You *could* do an MD-PhD just to get med school paid for if ur OK w
🔹 7-10 yrs on a grad student stipend
🔹going thru the trials of a PhD for yrs
🔹postponing attending salary
🔹taking add'l courses
🔹have ur peers as ur attendings
But why, if it's not ur passion?🤷🏽♀️

I had another paper accepted! It's been hard work--rejections, revisions, formatting, juggling projects--but it is gratifying to know that the ideas will be out there and starting/nuancing a conversation.

So many premeds rely on these videos when studying for the MCAT. This is a FREE resource that *everyone* (w internet access) could access.
MCAT prep can add up to $thousands, which many don't have.
If you believe in equity in med, go donate or try to get the AAMC to help fund.
We hear you.
We know our MCAT course has been important for so many of you.
As a small nonprofit, we don't have the resources to maintain it at our high standards of quality.
Based on your concerns, we are extending availability through 9/30/20, the end of this testing year.
Here’s a compilation of >100 folks who will tell you about their path, give advice, read an essay, prep you for interviews, etc., if you are interested in becoming a physician-scientist (w any combo of degrees).
Please reach out, we are a DM away!📨
My class has discovered that OnlineMedEd is no longer free and safe to say while we are all not surprised, we are extremely disappointed. The explosion, necessity, and cost of outside med school resources remains untenable.

It took me years to unlearn all the lies I had been told about my appearance. If they can't handle how the hair grows out of my head, then that's their problem not mine. The curls are here to stay ➿
In undergrad, I went to a mock interview in professional attire. My hair is 3a/3b and was much longer and thicker at the time. I pinned back my curly bangs to keep hair out of my face and just let my hair flow neatly behind my shoulders. THEY SAID MY HAIR WAS UNPROFESSIONAL?!
Do👏🏼not👏🏼make👏🏼people👏🏼share👏🏼their👏🏼trauma👏🏼on👏🏼an👏🏼interview👏🏼
It's inappropriate. Even if some1 writes about it. That doesnt mean they want to share w some random interviewer.
Also bizarre q's about whether confederate statues should be taken down🙅🏽♀️(yes, I did get asked this)
My biggest fear for residency interviews is that interviewers will be asking Black medical students about facing racism and George Floyd... PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. Students do not need to be reliving their trauma while on the trail.

Same. "The pill" was 1st tested by enrolling women in Puerto Rico bc trial on mainland was unlikely + eugenics/colonialism. Werent told it was experimental, so may be ineffective/side effects. These women needed options, scientists ignored adverse reports + planned extermination.

Hi I worked my a** off to get to where I am when people consistently told me I got success + positions because I’m a minority woman. I’m a scientist who EARNED my successes while having jobs, enduring life changing trauma + mental illnesses.
