I got into a taxi this morning to go to a hospital. Driver had his mask underneath his chin. I asked him to out it on, no response. I then said 'you might want to put your mask on, I work on a covid ward.' It had the desired effect!
@danielgoyal
I can’t see why patients and visitors shouldn’t wear masks in hospitals, surely by attending hospital there’s a recognition that you or the people you are near are sick/vulnerable?
@rupert_pearse
@chrischirp
We’ve seen a rise in admissions of pregnant women in the North West to hospital and sadly to critical care. Most pregnant women who get Covid are fine but others are really sick amwith increased risks of premature delivery and stillbirth birth. We need more women to be vaccinated
@mattletiss7
No that’s wrong. Anyone who is pregnant is being offered a second booster next month. Please delete your tweet
@mattletiss7
vaccination is safe in pregnancy Covid is not
I’ve been looking after pregnant women with Covid since the start. I’m fully vaccinated, as are my children thankfully. I’ve seen how well vaccines protect people and I’m supporting as many colleagues as I can to address their concerns about vaccination
@MFTnhs
I can’t say it enough but after a long shift it needs saying again. Please get vaccinated if you are pregnant. Covid vaccination is safe in pregnancy Covid is not. At best being Covid positive will ruin your birth experience.

That’s scary Caz. Marion Knight said today 100 pregnant women a week fir the last 2 weeks have been admitted to hospital. With a 1:10 risk of being admitted to critical care if you are pregnant and hospitilised, that scared me.

My friends 94 year old mother fell on Monday morning. Waited 41/2 hours for an ambulance, fractured femur. She’s only been operated on today. How much has her risk of dying increased by the delays? It’s no way to treat people. We need more resources.
Two long shifts this weekend. Lots of Covid affecting women People putting off vaccination because of pregnancy - pregnancy increases the risk from Covid. Vaccination protects you bad your baby. Boosters being put of because of pregnancy or Christmas- please don’t delay 1/3

I’ve had quite a bit of that too as well as a threat before an information meeting that I would be prosecuted if I said the vaccine was safe in pregnancy. These people cause harm and should be held accountable.
When my daughter had Covid she was in bed for 3 days and missed her chemistry GCSE. When she had flu she was in bed for 2 days but couldn’t swim train for 3 weeks. That’s why I pay for her to get a flu vaccine and I’d pay for a Covid vaccine if I could.
mRNA COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy provokes a robust IgG response for mothers & infants for approximately 6 months after birth. Postvaccination symptoms may indicate a more robust immune response, without adverse maternal, fetal, or neonatal outcomes.
Misinformation is so dangerous. Sad that people believe conspiracy theories rather than healthcare staff who have their child’s best interests at heart.
@HSJEditor
Really difficult in maternity services. Nothing elective to cancel, low vaccine uptake because of misinformation, more admissions of pregnant women sick with Covid plus staff absences because of positive contacts or kids out of school.
I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely security guard and watching him in action today. He is so attentive to people arriving at Trafford and was very quick to get a wheelchair when needed. You can see him smiling under the mask.

Just appalling that one of the few antivax doctors gets the ear of Javid snd the media. He wouldn’t be working if he hadn’t had a hep B vaccine. I wouldn’t want to be his colleague or his patient. I prefer healthcare professionals that care about others.
Vaccination is safe in pregnancy, Covid is not. We are still admitting people who are pregnant because they have COVID.

Anti vaxxers play up the risk of myocarditis to argue against the Covid 19 vaccine. However myocarditis is significant more likely with COVID19 infection than with vaccination. Covid infection also comes with all sorts of other ways to harm and kill you.
I’ve been contacted by staff who are pregnant asking whether they should get the booster. My answer is always yes, if you’re offered a vaccine in pregnancy it’s because you’re more at risk of illness. Covid and flu vaccines protect you and your baby. The vaccines don’t cross the

Every doctor and Pharmacist I know is happy 5-11 year olds are to be offered vaccination. What I can’t understand is why wait until April. Are we expecting a surge in June? Normally you vaccinate before you expect a peak.
If you are asked a question about Covid vaccination by someone who is pregnant can you please read the guidance before you answer? I’m still being contacted by women turned away for a vaccine. Yesterday I phoned one centre who had turned a woman away and directed them to the 1/2

Please can you post the evidence that worries you ? Also what’s your experience of treating people with Covid? Are most of your patients not vaccinated ? What complications have you seen that you are certain have been caused by vaccination?
Dr John Campbell has recently posted a video, which is currently titled "Reanalysis of mRNA trial data." Like many antivaxxers before him, he has been totally fooled by the p-hacking and apples to oranges comparisons used by the authors.
@apnoeaboy
Really sad. There is so much misinformation out there causing hesitancy. I’ve asked pregnant women with Covid why they didn’t get vaccinated and they thought they could keep themselves safe until they’d had their baby. Vaccination is the best way to keep safe.
Disinformation kills. I find it unbelievable that you can be on the GMC register and behave the way some of these doctors do. Remember Malhotra doesn’t treat acutely I’ll patients so he has no experience of treating Covid.

Given you can’t donate blood until 48 hours after vaccination, there’s about 2mls of plasma in a a paediatric-pack of red cells, I’d guess the amount of vaccine a child would receive would be 0. Absolute scare mongering rubbish.

It is safer to wear a mask snd I don’t know any children who thinks it’s abusive but maybe that’s because they listen to doctors and scientists.
