What ppl don’t realize is a train line from Frederick to Baltimore via existing track/new interchanges could take you from Frederick to Mt. Airy, through Main St. Ellicott City, and drop you off right at the stadiums. It’d be so much more than just connecting Frederick better.

Frederick, the second largest city in Maryland, is served by MARC commuter rail, but unless you are a DC-bound commuter this service may as well not exist. Trains run only at rush hour, 3 times per direction daily. There is no off-peak, reverse-peak, nor weekend service.

This is a map that should be the bare minimum for a city Baltimore's size. It's heartening that the Yellow Line in this diagram is at least being studied, and the Red Line is seemingly having new life breathed into it, but Metro expansion isn't, and it's intentional negligence.

This. Baltimore has a sprawling bus map that SHOULD be one of the most comprehensive in the US, for a city with almost no useful rail network. Instead, MD refuses to protect the few bus lanes it has, doesn’t prioritize frequency, so they get snarled and less ppl ride than could.

@LisaMcCray A BPD officer’s OT annually—just ONE—is more than teachers make in a year sometimes in the same city, and we wonder how we’ve become a 300+ murders-a-year machine.

RE: Light Rail Could be worst case scenario, could also be another paragraph in a loong chapter of MD continually cancelling state-of-good-repairs until things get so bad, they have to suspend service indefinitely til everything is rectified, like they did with the metro in '18.

Nearly every Eagles fan under this post is calling Sills a gross criminal who deserves to be put under the prison. If I see one more Chiefs fan talk shit about this, I'm gonna look up your tweets abt Tyreek Hill from 2019, and you're gonna look like a terrible person.

Baltimore is on pace for 300+ murders for the 6th year in a row. A dozen shootings over Memorial Day weekend—losing 10 or more lives for the 3rd year in a row. In a city of 610,000 ppl, we have the WORST murder rate per capita in America. How are we an exception?

As homicides dramatically increase across the nation, a question has emerged as to why Baltimore City is an exception. What are we doing right in Baltimore that other places are not doing?

1st: cameras are everywhere, sometimes even 2+ to a corridor in both directions in both the 🦋 and L 2nd: most in the 🦋 are along “trucking routes” that the state created in these neighborhoods as a form of redlining. Point is, you can (and have been able to) fix this.

This is horrible. All of these cameras in neighborhoods. Further taxing Baltimore City Residents. Most within the Black Butterfly (East @SenatorMcCray & West @jillpcarter ). What message are we sending to our residents? @BmoreCityDOT The program was started to make it safe for…

Absolutely LOVE this series, the Mayor of Boston @wutrain is taking public transit with different residents to learn about their commutes and how to make the systems/city work better for people! Watch complete video here (this app makes you trim):

If you argue that bike lanes are making your roads less safe or more congested, so why not make them protected *bus* lanes instead, that cyclists could also use, that'd be a very good solution. Trouble is, drivers aren't saying that. They want the status quo, which is dangerous.

Deservedly so. Atlas' food is some of the worst I've ever had in a Baltimore restaurant. Don't eat at Atlas, and don't support their gross ownership.

Ultimately, Baltimore's biggest transit issue, no matter who you ask among those who take it, is reliability and headways. None of that improves unless you tunnel and go through with option 1. If Larry Hogan wasn't a prick, this would already exist and for half the expected cost.

The Red Line Measures of Effectiveness are out. Tunneling is unsurprisingly very expensive, but the travel time benefits of tunneling are significant. 11-15 minutes of time savings vs. surface LRT is a 20-33% decrease in travel time vs surface.

@RealGlenMacnow Talib is doing well. His delivery isn’t traditional, which is what’s bothering ppl, and what ppl aren’t willing to admit about it. He’s honest, and reactive. Exactly what a color commentator should be. His thoughts aren’t all over the place like Booger or Witten.

Ppl who drive everywhere no matter what: more funding for transit doesn’t hurt you at all. MARC, MTA buses, or commuter buses running on the same routes with more frequency gets more cars out your way. Stop complaining abt more frequency on routes that already exist, I beg you.
