To the white supremacists who ran through downtown today:
When we march, we don’t hide our faces. Your hate is as cowardly as it is disgusting, and it goes against all that Boston stands for.
Tonight I met with 70+ of our most engaged high schoolers in Boston. When asked how many believe we should keep masks on beyond 2/28 in

Michelle is family. From teaching her in law school, to working together on my first Senate run, to supporting her campaigns, I’ve seen her positive energy, her good heart, and her ability to make big change for Boston. She will be a terrific mayor. Congratulations
@WuTrain
!
Mayor Wu’s commute to City Hall is more ceremonial than practical (a city SUV follows the Orange Line route), but it’s a powerful symbol for fellow commuters who are surprised to be sharing a subway car with the city’s most powerful elected official.
When I first walked into
@ewarren
's classroom, I had no idea that years later, we’d both be in public office. I’m honored to have Sen. Warren on our team.
Trolls? More like concerned citizens who cannot sit idly as you kill children. Maybe you would understand that if you heard us out. Seems like only a large amount of lawsuits will get your attention. Charges: CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY.
#wutrainwreck
Thank you, Boston.
Today, you turned out on the doors, on the phones, on the streets, & at the polls to make your voices heard.
This is about delivering bold change—realizing just how much our challenges & dreams are intertwined.
I couldn't be more grateful for your support.
It would have been great if the
@CityOfBoston
partnered with
@BostonSchools
to send every child home with a test kit this friday. Maybe too late now but we deff need to bump up our outreach efforts.
The protests outside my house are making me surer everyday that we’re doing the right thing.
It’s a daily reminder of how we need strong policy to address deeply-rooted misinformation & fear-mongering.
Next month we’ll nearly quadruple our City electric vehicle charging stations, then double it again by year’s end.
Also working to transition our municipal fleet to all electric⚡️
Personal update: I was one of the Roslindale residents randomly selected for the MGH

antibody study last week. Got my test results last night: negative for coronavirus & positive for antibodies—meaning I was most likely infected at some point without knowing it.
Boston City Council votes to divest from fossil fuel!
It may be one of the first bills new mayor
@wutrain
Michelle Wu signs--and if so it will send a strong signal to the Mass Legislature, which is considering the same thing!!!
Thanks to all who fought!
Interesting comparison! Snow emergencies—like public health emergencies—are all hands on deck to keep everyone safe.
If anyone could leave cars anywhere in a blizzard, we couldn’t get roads clear. Instead we communicate, make garages available & tow if necessary.
Shoutout to our
@MBTA
Orange Line driver: “We’re going slow this morning. I apologize if anyone is in a hurry, but I WILL take my time for everyone’s safety.”
Congratulations,
@marty_walsh
! He’ll be the 1st union member to serve as Labor Secretary in nearly 50 years & his leadership comes at a critical time for the labor movement.
Time to clean up Trump’s backwards, antiworker policies with a partner for working families in DC.
Growing up, I never imagined serving in government. I’m here today bc of
@AyannaPressley
& so many powerful barrier-breakers bringing our communities to the table.
It hasn’t been easy. But we are here. 💜
From Congress, to the State House, to Boston City Hall—we must call out racism, misogyny & hate in all its forms.
As Boston's elected officials of color, we condemn the ongoing threats & hateful attacks against
@MayorWu
& call for an immediate end to this dangerous behavior.
This is completely unacceptable. The team & I are huddling tomorrow right after inauguration to set immediate next steps for expanding testing & improving the experience at each site—will report back!
Hey
@MassGovernor
, see where the traffic lights are? When you get there in the line, you’re only an hour and a half to two hours away from the front of the line for a PCR test. After almost two years, thanks, I guess?

I love this job & welcome accountability, but I don’t live in an isolated area.
My next door neighbor is a 96 year-old veteran who deserves his sleep & we have so many families on our street with young kids who are getting woken up by the hate every morning.
Breonna Taylor was murdered in her sleep, and today, our “justice” system decided that those who chose to protest this injustice may spend more time in jail than her killers. This is not justice — this is systemic racism & structural oppression working the way it was intended.
I’m honored to earn the support of our Senator & champion for working families,
@ewarren
!
We’re in this race to deliver bold, urgent leadership in Boston & build a city for everyone. Join us!
I’ve been proud to fight alongside Michelle over the last 7 years. She gets out and does the work that needs to be done to make a difference in people's lives. I’m thrilled to get on board the
@WuTrain
and endorse her run for Mayor of Boston. Join at .
Next Tuesday, I’ll take my oath of office in the City Council Chamber, then get right to work in the Mayor’s office!
This will be a special moment in a special place to mark our quick start while we plan for a full inauguration alongside
@BosCityCouncil
colleagues in January.
Let’s be clear. We will not normalize harassment as acceptable behavior. When members of this group have taken part in the yelling outside my house, bullied City staff & fellow restaurant owners—there is no right to get inside & shout down a press conference too.
.
@MayorWu
is holding a press conference on
#NorthEnd
outdoor dining, but late today made a venue change into a smaller room in city hall, where now city officials aren’t letting certain business owners in citing overcapacity/ the fire code. This is what unfolded next:

Bill Russell gave so much to the city of Boston—as the greatest sports champion of all time & a role model fighting for justice, equality & labor rights.
We owe him a debt of gratitude & we will miss him.
.
@AyannaPressley
has been a friend & inspiration to me for years. As the 1st woman of color on the Boston City Council, she paved the way for me & so many others to lead.
Her leadership proves that more is possible for our city & country. Honored to receive her endorsement.
Your daily smile. Being a working mom is tough. Working from home can be a challenge.
@wutrain
spoke to us today about rent relief for Boston residents - it's a serious story that will air this evening on
@boston25
but here are some outtakes that are just too good not to share.
Working alongside
@marylouakai
's unmatched, fearless leadership was the honor of a lifetime. She held my heart throughout the highs & lows of our campaign—& cared deeply for the team we built together.
I’m so excited to welcome Sen.
@EdMarkey
to our campaign—a leader who deeply understands the urgency of climate justice & why we need a Boston Green New Deal.
Markeyverse & Wuniverse, assemble!
@wutrain
@MayorWu
Got my booster yesterday. But you know what? There is NO WAY I will ever show a vaccine passport to a private business where I’m spending my hard earned $$. Forced vaccines to eat in a restaurant? I think NOT!!! I say Free America and right to choice!
