@JoeCassandra Here's another take: I see my mom helping raise my sister's kids. She loves them but she's exhausted and it's just too much to do all the time. She already raised 4 kids of her own. She feels obligated because her parents helped her raise her 4 kids. But it's SO much of her time.

@olivia_deng_ I just want a gym these days with actual free weight equipment and not a million dumb machines no one uses or wants. It's constantly 10 people in line for benches & squat racks, and empty pointless machines everywhere else as far as the eye can see.

@mkruz It's not just me! I find trying to select text super difficult since changes in iOS13. Like if you try to tap mid-URL / mid sentence it will constantly select all or not let you choose it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it's been driving me crazy.

@JakeAnbinder Crazy part is that MS actually offers an entirely free version of web-based MS Office. (And 365 app version is pretty affordable at $6/month bundled with 1tb cloud storage for personal)

@zackkanter 30% has been way too high for a long time. Imagine if Microsoft tried to collect 30% of anything purchased on the internet when using IE in the 90s/early 2000's. They would have been slaughtered with more lawsuits.

@heIpfullandlord If you want some vengeance, you can file cancellation of debt against them with the IRS. They'll owe taxes on that $12.7k as "income" of sorts, so probably will have to cough up $3k or so to the government.

@TrailerParkGuy I don't like moving around too much. Lately I like to find outdoorsy locations where I can just hike/backpacking for like 4-5 days in a row. Or chill near a beach and scuba dive.

@constans It's especially annoying if you are going to use something for long distances and want better gas mileage. I've been "upgraded" from a corolla with like 40mpg to an 18mpg monster SUV because it's all they had left for a 400 mile trip. That's like $50 more in fuel.

@shawngorham Honestly what I'm most jealous of isn't the luxury or splurge of money. It's the ability to get these stress inducing things and risk out of your brain so you can focus on your real goals, health, etc. Living in a HCOL having to stress about mortgage payments/kids/etc is so bad.

@spencercamp @saranormous I find 2-3 hours difference isn't too horrible, but once you start dealing with 8+ hrs the communications are brutal. Any miscommunication can cost you 24hrs, and your meeting window is basically 7am-9am ET.

@gas_biz Lately it seems like a ton of cars need premium. Even mid level ones all running small displacement engines + turbos need that premium. Almost every car I looked at needs/wants it: Acura TLX, Acura RDX, Mazda CX-5 turbo, honda accord 2.0t, Lexus GS, Lexus IS, BMW 340i, etc

@emilykmay I think there's some normal inflection, but lots of other variables. COVID rapidly accelerated things. More stress all around for higher cost of living. Social media/internet awareness making bad behavior less tolerated, but at the same time setting unreasonable expectations.

@rohindhar You can but it would force the seller to release their entitlement which 99% won't do. Best bet is to find someone that passed away but the loan still exists. Their entitlement gets them better rates, 0% down, etc.

@NaithanJones I grew up in that area. People have said this for decades. Illinois state is basically junk bond status with the pension obligations, people are leaving, and there isn't much tech presence there. It's a decent city but I don't see it exploding anytime soon.

@skylarromines One thing to note is that it's an insanely hard job market right now, especially in tech where there is a lot of HR. Even brilliant engineers from Google, etc are taking 6-12 months to find a job. Main thing is she needs to (1) leverage her network and (2) niche down hard

@shawngorham I trim it down first with an electric razor, then just shave carefully with a double edged safety razor like this: - blades cost like 10c - 25c each and can be used for 3 shaves or so.

@HelloKrystalWu It's not really about price point. More about how much you need to research it. Also just likelihood of the mobile site failing/missing information. I still regularly run into airline or government sites, esp overseas, where the mobile site just flat out doesn't work.

@Flipping_SFR My biggest fears: (1) Huge fear of getting ripped off on remodeling costs. Will an $80k estimate turn into $150-200k? (2) annoying to get hit with GC 20% upcharges, (3) need to trust people in general. (4) materials/design selection exhausting
