I worked in an ER. Its not exactly a great place to chill. If the best option you can come up with to get your needs met in a broken system is fabricating symptoms, then maybe you deserve empathy and compassion and resources instead of judgement and TikTok lolz

There was a fire on the Orange Line in Boston on a bridge over the Mystic River. One woman dressed for her commute jumped into the river and swam to shore and walked off. I want to meet her. I have so many questions

My mom was profoundly ill when I was in high school and couldn't participate in "mother daughter" events. I was already being bullied because I didn't have a mother to help me figure out puberty stuff. The mother daughter events made a painful situation even worse.

I don't blame her for wanting privacy. I DO blame the palace PR for being SO BAD at their jobs that they blamed her for a bad photo shop job and basically backed themselves into a corner where she felt she HAD to go public.

This is my favorite Walter, but it's uncommon. We called him Wally as a tiny baby, but switched to Walter pretty quick. Apparently they used to call him Walt in daycare which sounds older than Walter to me. Like Walt smokes and has two martini lunches

Are people trying to "end his career" tho? This is all from a tweet of 4 white celebrities named Chris asking if you had to which would you eliminate. People picked Pratt and mentioned his politics. Seems pretty harmless, esp considering what women of MCU and Star Wars have faced

That's great! I love knowing that Danny DeVito and Mark Ruffalo support access to reproductive health services, especially for folks who's access is limited.

I get that as a parent when you have a baby you might have hopes and dreams of what it will be like and if things don't match up to that it might be an adjustment and different people handle it differently...
But, go to a therapist or support gp to work through those feelings

I mean, in this day and age having a kitchen you can choose to redo is a privilege. I'm counting my lucky stars that I have a home with appliances that work that's safe and warm and has food in the fridge/pantry. Is it outdated? Sure. But everything works and that's good enough

It's so funny, I meet young folks who really want to go into creative careers and talk about how working a desk job sounds like death. And while I hope their dreams come true...desk jobs aren't so bad and can fund creative endeavors while providing steady income and benefits

I used to work in an er as a mental health crisis worker. The number of people who came in for treatment for substance use disorders and left because on top of their suffering they were treated disrespectfully by er nurses who thought they were "wasting a bed" was STAGGERING

What is this "princess programming" you speak of. Most women I know are brilliant and hard working because that's what you need to be as a woman in the workforce to deal with sexism. They want a partner on their level

I don't think it's misogyny to ask people not to disrobe and wash their undergarments in a public restroom. The fact that period blood could potentially contain blood borne pathogens is just one reason. Also, for some folks periods are unpleasant and it's not misogyny to say so

I turn 48 next weekend. My social calendar is PACKED. Don't have kids because you're afraid of being lonely. Have kids if you really want to be a parent. If you're afraid of being lonely join some clubs. Kids should not exist to entertain you or meet your emotional needs

Compassion fatigue is real. And when you find yrself making fun of ppl's suffering u need to take a hard look at what yr doing & y. If this vid is funny to u, u need a vacation or new career. The problem is when other ppl see this and think "that's funny" not "wow, inappropriate"

Others might disagree. I see my enjoyment of themed entertainment being similar to being a sports fan. Are either a "hobby"? I dunno, but they both seem equally strange but fun, but one is more socially acceptable

No, they shouldn't be. That's why cities and towns have recreation departments. It's understandable that our communities want these services but they should be provided by the agency specifically designed for it
@allicovington
For a lot of folks getting treatment for their mental health is necessary before they're able to engage in fitness. During some of my worst depressive episodes I couldn't motivate myself to shower, and I was borderline agoraphobic. I know it looks like you're "just asking"...
@Artists_Ali
I specifically remember giving pep talks to people about how to deal with it when (not "if" but "when") a nurse said something shitty to them while they got medically cleared for treatment (in a bed that had already been secured)!

Um...my friend insisted her husband come over to hang shelves when I talked about paying some stranger to do it. She trusts me and she trusts her husband. I feel bad for folks who don't have that kind of trust in their people

But these kinds of questions when they're not asked in good faith (and considering you're promoting your coaching business it sure does look like it) it just winds up perpetuating stigma towards actual mental health treatment

Unfortunately PTSD doesn't have a pause button. Some people are going to have a reaction to seeing someone accused of rape being lionized. Telling survivors they need to be silent abt those feelings could be similar to how they've been treated when trying to talk abt their trauma

A) you can encourage health promoting behavior without focusing on weight
B) literally every fat person I know has at least one example of being told to lose weight to solve a problem that was in no way related to weight or based on assumptions because of how they look
@MonorailRedWDW
How? Trump getting rid of the pandemic response team and making recommendations like masks and spreading misinformation abt COVID is why we're in this situation in the first place. It's like watching someone set your house on fire and then say he's the only one who can put it out

Again, if that's the best answer someone comes up with, then something is missing. Instead of shaming & judging (which does nothing to help the situation) we could try empathy and actually learn from the patients what they need and try to develop resources to meet those needs
