I’m curious about the person who after being rescued from the water after the bridge collapse was like, “nah dog, im cool” and went home. Someone should interview that person.
The latest: Two people were rescued from the Patapsco River, one who refused medical attention and another transported in serious condition, Baltimore Fire Chief James Wallace says. "This continues to be a search and rescue operation"
This is one of the most out of touch things I've ever heard. He's upset that people aren't buying nice clothes anymore, that people are able to make cheaper lunches at home, aren't spending as much on commuting, and office buildings are no longer profitable investments. LOLOLOL.
Billionaire CEO Stephen Schwarzman says that working from home has been more profitable for workers because "they didn't work as hard, regardless of what they tell you."

would you please either ONLY display posts in time order of fix your bad algorithm? I don't need hurricane updates from yesterday. Not only frustrating, but could be really dangerous.
I was always like warm at best on Brandon Scott. So far he’s done a great job with the government response. Also everyone with a racist comment about him needs to be launched into the sun.
A massive thank you to all of our first responders, elected officials, and support staff who mobilized today immediately following the Key Bridge collapse. Baltimore is strong, Maryland is strong and together we will help our communities recover from this unthinkable tragedy.
In case you’re a non local and following me. This is a good video of going over the Key Bridge that just collapsed today. There area is so “lucky” this it happened in a non prime time hour
"We're going over this scary bridge in Baltimore."
The Francis Scott Key Bridge completely collapsed after a container ship collided head on with one of the supports.
6 men, described as humble and hard working, lost their lives doing their jobs - yet the fringe pushes baseless conspiracy theories.
Think of their families. Think of the city. Ignore the noise. Let the investigation play out. We’ll learn more soon.
It is officially time for HonFest to end. Denise showed us who she is years ago. She tried to rehab her appearance, and many fell for it. This is her just showing us again. I can only assume she is watching/listening to a lot of conservative media based on her statement.
I don't want to retweet the traffic accident porn for that sake, but I want to retweet to highlight all the good Samaritans in Baltimore. We usually get such a bad rap, but there are a ton of good people in this city.
The missing men are from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras & Mexico, and live in Dundalk & Highlandtown. They are in their 30s and 40s, he said, w spouses & children.
All of them came to the city for a better life.
“They are all hard-working, humble men"
Biden on the Baltimore port: "I have directed my team to move heaven and earth to reopen the port and rebuild the bridge as soon as humanly possible ... it is my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge."
I grew up in Baltimore, I've gone to the mat defending this city so much. But man, since the pandemic so many things are infuriating and increasingly obnoxious. A city losing population should be doing everything to retain and gain residents. Fixing little things, allowing
Anyone bitching or complaining about downtown baltimore being dead, needs to see everything going on today. We look like a world class diverse city. More of this please
One thing I want Baltimore City Leaders to do, is SOMETHING. I'm tired of studies, I'm tired of "we are working with experts." A lot of things are really bad, if you took any bold action on any issue in Baltimore, you are not going to make it worse. Maybe your crazy plan works?
Man how amazing is that. I'd kill for a transit oriented
@costco
in Baltimore. You know where this would be awesome, the old Pepsi warehouse by Woodberry light rail.
In most cities, Costco stores fuel sprawl & car dependency.
In Vancouver, our full-sized downtown Costco store has residential towers above & a skytrain station next door, & many/most customers don’t drive to it.
We live a block from it. We nicknamed it “the convenience store.”
We need to all move on from that festival, or let them move it Westminster or something. It is not representative of Baltimore. It really never has been. It is a Fox News viewers idealized version of 1950s/60s baltimore. Denise should be over in this town.
@mariyastrauss
I had long explained how old white guys around here never stop talking about their high schools. You can have an endless amount of life accomplishments, but if you're from a certain era of Baltimore, high school is obviously the most important. Wife never believed me.
One thing I can’t stand about the modern era is that we needed a study for this. Officials should ride transit. Mimic people’s commutes, see how it works. Be familiar with your metro area. Where we are at we don’t need rocket science.
a ton of development are no brainers. Not knocking down housing stock for squares of grass, and parking lots also is a no brainer. Cracking down on traffic offenses. Making things safter for pedestrians, bikes and cars. All of these things are crucial, and ignored.
Larry’s campaign slogan is pretty dumb. Unemployment is so low on the whole and in Maryland. Does he just mean that he wants to get back to work? I’m sure there are plenty of jobs for him. Who does he want to get back to work?
However much we hate Dereck Chauvin, we shouldn’t be cheering the fact that he was stabbed in prison. If you’re in the custody of the state, the state should ensure that your physical safety is maintained. You should also be able to exist humanely. Cruelty is not acceptable.
Man, I love trains as transit. I love them in all forms. I hate that in Baltimore, we struggle so much at building density around the light rail stops. I hate we don't run it enough.
I can't with this headline. I am no longer a subscriber so I cannot read this insanity. I'll take it back, if the complaint is they are a county seat with big population, inadequate mass transit, and inadequate public transit connections to other nearby population centers.
Hey there
@BWI_Airport
why aren’t there any daily parking buses at 4:30? There are a ton of people waiting for the bus and I’m just watching car after car pull into the garage.
@mariyastrauss
Long story short, a funeral on Long Island. Old rich white guy, whom everyone was in awe of his wealth etc, was talking to me and my wife. He told us he went to school in Baltimore. Wife says Johns Hopkins? He says "No Mt. St. Joe, class of 50whatver." I almost died.
Some thoughts on the insane interaction with Baltimore twitter last night. Especially as someone who often posts a lot of pictures of people doing dumb stuff in traffic. Traffic violations, including parking violations are one of the most frustrating quality of life issues
It is unreal how Virginia is putting Maryland and
@LarryHogan
to shame with their announcement of huge investment in commuter rail. While MD just dithers and talks about highways, mag lev, hyperloop and monorail. WTF. We have a commuter rail network. Improve it, make it work!!!
My grandmother’s funeral was today, and I wanted the everyone to know she picked out a pink coffin ages ago. With some wild trim. Hard to tell the color in the lighting. Sassy till the end.
Glenn Youngkin is on Fox News saying that He and Larry Hogan have jointly asked the justice department to arrest protestors at justice’s homes. Someone should ask Larry what he has to say.
It takes a lot for me to want to bail on Baltimore. And I am getting to that point. At this point there really is only one thing keeping me in town, and it is Liz's job. If she magically gets a job somewhere else, if attractive, we'd probably bolt.
I know there was talk about having a
#Baltimore
twitter get together after pandemic subsides. I hope this still happens and we all make badges out of our profile images and usernames. Also I hope settles dumb Twitter beefs. It could be genuinely interesting.
