My nurse just sat in my room for like 15 minutes while I talked about my journey of discovering I’m autistic—and there was ZERO change in how she spoke to me. Can we please make this the norm? Because omg I think that’s the first time that’s ever happened 🥹♥️ #ActuallyAutistic

I’m that flavor of autism turns every boring situation into a movie. Like yesterday, my husband and I were on a walk and a bunch of ducks in the pond were practicing flying across while others were loudly quacking. That’s it. BUT WERE THEY REALLY?? 🧐

@KennyL5S5 @FlintGravelston @DoreenCaven As an autistic person, this made me cry to the point of shaking. This post is exactly why so many of us are in advocacy—her child could genuinely have a good life if they took the time to educate themselves on autism…but not learning her way of communicating is hurting her.

@LosD313 @KING_Jaszi Because a lot of autistic people would LOVE some fucking representation. People flipped shit over a fictional mermaid being black, but did you see the reactions from little black girls? That’s not pandering—that’s INCLUSION. Why stay mad about that? Honestly.

I get legitimately triggered when I come across a random thread where NTs/allistics discuss autism. If I engage, they lash out, but if I ignore it then it’s a missed opportunity for others to learn. Why is it so hard for others to accept our experiences? 😕 #ActuallyAutistic

@shannboje @DoomScroling @ask_aubry Yep. I gave birth to my son *by choice* because I couldn’t personally follow through with it—but I also drove my sister to NM twice because she was gonna die otherwise (first time didn’t work). Our “pro-life” dad said she “looked healthy again”…because it’s his daughter.
