Happier times, my son and I on my 70th currently he is so far down, scared and very anxious facing up to 170 people face to face per day as a delivery driver. Deliveries are mostly non essential! I think he is a hero too. Send him love and strength please.
This is Lyra, yr 8 homeschooled and proud of her fabulous 'Space' themed painting in Watercolour, acrylics and a bit of pencil. Working over Zoom she’s done a terrific job interpreting my verbal descriptions with minimal diagrams when talking about the idea. 1/2
For the last few weeks my front Wildflower garden has really come alive and I love the show but, I’m wondering if they’ll come back next yr or will I have to buy more if I can find their names!
Just finishing this set of story spoons based on a school. You and or the children write your own stories from the characters.

If you’d like the set then just like this tweet and I’ll choose a winner at random on Thursday evening.
Done for a friend to give to their daughter at Christmas, I can now post these Minecraft themed hand painted Converse because I won’t spoil the surprise. I'm pleased she liked them and wore them on the day!
At last, this window is finished, cemented and cleaned. This is the first sight of it with light behind it. I’m pretty happy with it.

I’ve been meaning to post this by my 11 Yr old granddaughter done as homework. I can guarantee she had no help and am really proud of this little Bee.

Initially intrigued by a 'glitter' Twitter and unpronounceable first name 🥴I discovered Mother of Dragons.
@Teacherglitter
with her fabulous rooms and pupils work posts became someone to follow and picking up more about her she is a worthy subject for my strong women series two.
I don’t often draw men and never in my strong women series but I’ve felt compelled to draw this amazing bloke, when it comes to being a dad, non better, a teacher, he cares lots, giving a damn, never. We need more like
@LeeBraganza
not quite finished this, hair needs tidying🥴
A rare drawing for me, a male subject! My male subjects are mostly rock stars but here for a change is a Real Star.
@DarrellWakelam
has become a star of lockdown for so many people, school staff, parents and children. His inspirational work and its results are a joy to see.
It’s been a while since I drew someone for my strong women series but,
@SafeSENCOSaeed
fits the bill perfectly. Strength of character and faith, a no nonsense attitude with lots of genuine care and great sense of humour. I for one am so glad she’s still here to be in my toons. 😉
This day in 1973 started with an almighty hangover but ended as a married man (without a hangover) It was a terrific day and a terrific life together, at times it’s hard to believe you’ve gone but, things change and get easier. It is what it is.
A Strong Women, nobody who follows
@DrJessTaylor
will deny her strength, her direct approach, strong opinions (might not always agree) and her stand for women in a society with such built in bias. I love that she never backs down, that she is always, but always, herself.
After all the helpful ideas from lots of you on here, I was given specific story spoons to do. It’s been a good way to fill in a couple of these empty days after Christmas.
This morning, despite the rain, I’m going to buy my wife some birthday flowers. I was a husband who didn’t forget special days and I’m not going to start now. Remembering the great times. Happy Birthday Selina.
This makes me so happy. My now 12yr old granddaughter (recent birthday) sent her latest homework for me to see. A coloured pencil bug! I’m astounded by her growing skill levels and obvious artistic talent.
Today is 2 years to the day before I lost my wife. Tomorrow I will be being positive about how I am getting by but for now, a poem ( I’m not much of a poet but it speaks to me).

Yesterday was Eid ul Fitr, a day of celebration for Muslims everywhere, not unlike Christmas. Having fasted along with my Muslim friends, see my check list photo👇👇, I also had a little celebration, smarter clothes and out for a lovely meal at an Italian I like that’s nearby.
About now, midday 48 yrs ago, I was meeting a coach load of relatives from Liverpool and taking them to meet this beautiful girl on our wedding day. I remember a look as she arrived at my side and her whispered ‘are you ok?’ as my stag night was the night before. Still a miss.
Firstly my late wife who always surprised me with her strength especially towards the end.

My series of strong women drawings has been going for a few yrs now and I have a file of other photos that I want to draw still, you have been warned!🥴
@BlondeHistorian
Thanks For yet another helpful and interesting insight into the life of those who are different, blind, unsighted, less abled etc. It’s too easy to assume we’re all the same, your tweets always help with clarity and bring equality a bit nearer.
On my journey back from a day in Wigan Hospital where I’ve been sitting with my dying brother. Sadly the hope of the rainbow won’t help him. Having rushed to get to see him it seems he might hang on a month or so! My goodbye might become a hello, goodbye now.
My new strong woman drawing.
@Nazma4Aston
is someone I’ve admired for a lot of yrs, political and caring but never afraid to say it like it is and like it should never be! She stands for honesty, equity, justice and has taught me a lot without even knowing. We need more Nazmas!
Strong and beautiful people in their own right, each of these lovely women have chosen to wear their Hijab. They have not been forced, cajoled in any way, they wear them freely and with pride. Be yourself.
#WorldHijabDay
At last I’ve finished this portrait of the lovely and highly talented Sophie
@sophiegreenart
Not only is she talented but also when you talk to her you realise just how her talent doesn’t go to her head. A really good person and a pleasure to draw.
So, hot off the soldering iron, both sides soldered and now comes the tiresome and messy work, cementing it all (putty) and then cleaning and polishing then I can lift it and see it properly; with light pouring through it will change dramatically!

And finally, Arden Primary’s final mural in its Art Studio. I’m off home tomorrow and came down to do one so the two here on this video are extras because I was there anyway. I’m pretty pleased with the results and think the school are too, Mia
@MissBTeaches_
is happy anyway.
Honeymoon, holidays and happy times! Five yrs ago today Selina died and I can say that I’m not sad, lost or in pain looking at these photos. (Might be later🥴) The good memories far outweigh the the bad times. Life goes on and life is good. Thank you Twitter folk, you helped.
Sometimes I see a Twitter photo that I just have to draw, this is one of them,
@angeladunn6
and
@MrHoughTeacher
the golden couple of Twitter on their wedding day 🥴 it was a challenge to try getting them both especially as the low level light altered the more normal facial forms.
Having met
@Callum_SEND
a few times and having benefited from his experience and advice I am pleased to show this drawing of him. He is one of the gentlest, nicest, most helpful people on here and in real life. Thank you Callum for being yourself.
Just completed, the lovely Sarah
@AliRacaniere
I have, often, no idea why I choose who to draw and yet so often it turns out they are stronger women than I thought. Sarah is one of these, strong yes, but also one of the nicest people here a survivor and a Doctor too.
The ever gentle and calming voice across both Twitter and Instagram was the first thing I noticed about my latest subject but in no time I realised the strength behind it. Her open and personal posts, whilst helping to sort her own mind, are also aimed at others in similar ..
So this one is finished I think.
@fidsta77
isn’t finished, just my drawing of this woman who’s strength often, very often, manifests in the form of humour. Rani is a laugh a minute also kind, caring and did I mention fun? People are guaranteed to enjoy her company IRL or virtual.
My latest pencil portrait is of the very creative
@mrs_darl
and I’ve discovered that fine blond fringes onto pale skin can be challenging but I’m quite happy with this one. Thank you Mrs D.
An enjoyable afternoon finishing more of a celebrity portrait. The popular and always worth a watch
@DrJaninaRamirez
nothing historical here, this is a brand new drawing and I’m happy with the likeness.
My completed Christmas themed toy chest for a friend's grandson. All painted in household emulsion paint on a new IKEA blanket chest. It just needs a protective varnish now.

New bow tie has arrived ready for Christmas Day. Second ever attempt to tie a bow has worked; I’m not so sure of the shirt, jumper, tie combo but, hey I’m pleased with myself!🥴😂😂
When you’re a teacher you have to have strength, when you’re a Headteacher you need strength. When falsely accused of misdemeanour and hounded for years by a gov agency you develop into such a strong woman as
@pepe_hart
just to survive but, Pepe has done much more than survive,
Sometimes you realise you should have used colour😂
@DeputyPeake
is one of the most colourful characters around and another big smile. Pattern, colour, ‘earrings?’ And that hair. She doesn’t make it easy 🥴
Another male portrait! The bigger than life
@gdmorewood
I’ve found myself with a big smile as I’ve worked on this thanks to Gareth’s own permanent grin. Both on here and IRL he is such an amazing personality, never far down, always lifting others, this is a powerhouse of man.
With a timeline full of mental health advice and quotes, a life crammed with academic writing and a real passion for teaching and learning, my latest strong woman is

My newest portrait drawing. I’ve been impressed by
@hazelmpinner
for her food, it’s presentation, photos she takes of her remote home and the fact she chooses to live there. More impressive is her stand against inequalities and how her tweets made me rethink my own attitudes. Ta!
Sometimes you hear bits about people young and old and have to admire them. Then you hear more about how they fight or struggle and occasionally you find a fabulous picture of them. I’m adding this young lady to my series 2. Strong Women. She is brilliant!
The best thing about this Father’s Day, a visit from one of my grandchildren who’s stopping overnight. Tomorrow we go to his dad’s wedding. The last time he was here he was only up to my shoulder - lockdown growth. 🥴
1/2 Sometimes I draw strong women because it’s easy to see their strength as they fight to cope with life. Here’s the lovely Emma
@MissEmmaTurner
who gives the impression of sailing through life happily with her lovely Ivy. Alway positive and caring, she has time for others and..
@BaytAlFann
A lovely thread, as a non Muslim, who’s also fasting for Ramadan in solidarity with and support for Muslim friends, I good to seeing the social Iftars here. I break my fast alone but appreciate how it must feel to be in a small, or large, group Iftar.
I always start portraits with the eyes. If I get them wrong then it’s pointless carrying on. These, as yet unfinished, eyes I’m quite pleased with belong to an actor called......? Open to guesses.
Today would have been my Selina's 70th birthday. I’m remembering with this drawing done between her death three and a half years ago and her funeral also with this beautiful poem received from Miss P last yr. Her words are so good, so right.
North by South West it’s a diagonal line. Tonight in the middle of that line are two legends, well one and a bit anyway 🥴 this is a meeting of like minds, like beards🥴 and two worlds have collided.
@BootstrapCook
They may be worried that money that usually gets into their greedy mitts is being siphoned off to someone who deserves it. They don’t have double standards, just the one and it’s the absolute lowest of the low.
Out all day painting a fence for a friend. Knackered! Called for small Fish & Chips to save cooking, this small fish hangs out both ends of the carton small? No way 🥴 I’ve eaten the fish and about 6or7 chips and I’m stuffed, can’t get out of the chair, here for the night. 🥴😂😂
It’s well over two yrs since we’ve all been together so I had to have a photo taken. Me (the older one) my son and his two boys! The family photo at sons Barbecue, after I’d been to a post wedding wedding celebration elsewhere. It’s been a good day!
I’m always fascinated by the work of Californian body artist Mimles. She is a highly talented and much sought after makeup artist and yes, these are all painted by hand on her body, no digital enhancements, no photoshopping at all!
Today’s celebrity portrait is the lovely
@CarrieGrant1
a tireless campaigner in many SEND areas. Broadcaster, speaker and of course seen singing at times🥴 This has been an enjoyable drawing to work on.
Celebration for Eid meant getting dressed smartly and going out for a meal at my local Italian Restaurant. It was delicious but after fasting my stomach is not sure what hit it! 😂Currently on the couch and wondering if I’ll ever get off it. 😂😂
Sometimes I feel I need/want to draw a strong woman without really knowing why! This lovely lady puts everything into kindness and sharing her own on here. Fridays wouldn’t be the same without the caring, encouraging hard work done by
@pennywpennyw
and it’s not just the quiz or
Rooting through files in my iCloud I came across this photo I’ve not seen since it was put there. Very apt for today.
From my diary 4yrs ago
'Selina didn’t want them to try anything new'
'Selina spent the afternoon surrounded by friends and family'
Early next morning she died.
If looks could kill! Jodie Comer is finished off, well my drawing from the weekend is although I do tend to have a little extra fiddle as I see bits that may need it. The Killing Eve star has been a pleasure to draw
@KillingEve
@JodieComer
#JodieComer
One of those days when looking for something completely different I came across a photo of Selina and I on the day we were engaged. I remember a meal with our parents and a pair of their friends, none of ours! Times change. 🥴
I've been asked if I would include some "before & after" comparisons. I tend not to because my focus is on the end photo rather than what I do, but as you've asked, here are some: I remove dirt & grain and improve light & colour saturation levels. I never add any new colour.
I've lots of reasons for my strong women choices, character, perseverance, no nonsense attitudes and fighting through troubles; Kat
@ReallyschoolK
could be any of these but I’ve drawn her for her, caring, gently encouraging and always so kind manner. Strength isn’t always hard.
Sometimes I’m not sure why or how I choose my strong women, I just know it’s right and they are. Seen by many here as half of Twitter's most beautiful looking couple, and family,
@angeladunn6
is a lot more and her constant positive and uplifting tweets are a real joy here.
I’m doing two funerals today, one of a friend from church so it’s the black three piece all day. A one hr funeral takes me three hrs. Opening, prep and greeting before and cleaning after ready for no2 this afternoon. Have a great day everyone.
My son Ben and his Nichola opted not to do a first dance but a first duet instead. This is the final bit, I loved the whole song and the very special day they had.
When you live two hundred metres from a desserts delivery service and a wonderfully kind Twitter friend treats you to THREE SLICES ! Wow. Thank you to the awesome
@fidsta77
now comes the decision of which is first😋😋😋
I’ve followed a recipe given by a Twitter friend to make these Rocky Roads. It was a bit of a rocky journey as I managed to burn the white chocolate 🥴 they are really moorish, maybe because of the Baileys Liqueur within 🤤🤤🤤 Quite pleased for a first go.
@BaytAlFann
This is just about the best selection of henna I’ve ever seen. A beautiful thread and easily up there with so many of your others. I love the variety of styles shown here. Thank you yet again.
Absolutely loving this beautifully seen piece of art. The pose and off the shoulder, exposed breast are ok as is the painting of the cloth folds, but the expression and that gaze through the dim light is amazing, captivating even. Gorgeous work.
