Some good news! Zay's kidneys are no longer serious. Still slightly inflamed but it's decreased in size. Consultant has booked him in for another scan in three weeks with the hope it will be normal.

Earlier this month we suffered a devastating loss of a young child from our school. Today our families donated over a hundred toys to Kings College Hospital in her memory. Every child on the ward will get a present for Christmas. 😭😭😭

My favourite thing to do with a new class is to sit with them at lunch and normalise eating ethnic pack lunches. This week I've seen jollof, keema, roti and hardo bread. Kids then aren't worried about whipping them out. Plus I find out whose family cooks the best food.

I've got a kid in my class with the most challenging behaviour. Having taught him for nearly two years we've got him to a really good place both socially and emotionally. He leaves tomorrow to another school. Sometimes this job sucks. I'll miss him big time.

Baby update. One kidney is perfectly fine but the other is pretty swollen. Doctors seem to think it will clear up with antibiotics so it's non-urgent. They'll have a few scans in week one and six of their little life. Tiny celebration.
