Doug Lenat (1950–2023) passed away yesterday. Doug got a Stanford CS PhD in 1976 for his work at SAIL on AM (Automated Mathematician) and was Stanford faculty 1977–1982. Thereafter, Doug worked until the end on Cyc, his vision of building computers with common sense knowledge.
