Whilst I agree that all should unite against censorship, today's events highlight why it was so dangerous and lazy for many on the left to sit back and watch as TalkRadio and Trump were silenced. We might not agree with some, but we should defend their liberty to speak.
In the 4 years since this iconic tweet, so much has changed in this space.

It is grotesque that, for the sake of some parents' ideology, children are confused and taught nonsense whilst other children's boundaries are breached and broken down.
I will never understand how this nonsense became so widespread and allowed by so many.
@UglaStefania
If people in your life want to call you that, so be it.
Our simple expectation is that we not be demanded to say things which go against our beliefs and nor will we accept our rights (

It would be helpful for the vast majority of

I need gay men to be absolutely clear about this. In your life time they pathologised, medicalised, castrated boys just like you and called it gender and these will be the men in your gay clubs in 10 years.
You must now face the soon harvest of gender and join us to fight this.
@professor_dave
This is a strawman.
GC activists highlight that anyone can abuse laws that allow males to claim an identity to access female only provisions.
We know that no male can become female and campaign to ensure single sex provisions are kept single sex.
Nobody is dehumanising anyone.
Our government is collapsing and a change may well be in the public interest, but these ridiculous policies would be so damaging to women and young gay people.
How is it that the only alternative to an infighting Tory Party is a hyper woke Labour Party?
#LGBWithoutTheT
Labour will:
▪️ban all forms of conversion therapy
▪️appoint an envoy to promote LGBT+ rights globally
▪️modernise the Gender Recognition Act and protect the Equality Act
Labour leading on LGBT+ rights. The Tories paralysed by chaos.
@professor_dave
I don't agree and nor does the law.
The
@ForWomenScot
ruling makes clear that trans identified people without a GRC have no prima facie right to access single sex provisions for their acquired gender.

@professor_dave
No.
They are female & male respectively, and single sex spaces have been carved out for good reason.
It isn't because they personally may be a danger, but that anyone could self ID to access the space.
It's why all males are kept out of female spaces despite few being a danger.
@michaelpforan
Is there an academic that is willing to speak on trans issues that hasn't had to have "one of those chats" with their boss?
I'm growing to enjoy them now 😂
It's amusing to watch a competent academic clearly and concisely explain his perception of the law whilst another barrister just expresses his ideology - disregarding inconvinient law and the expertise of others.
Yet again, Robin entirely misrepresents what Dr Foran said in a meticulous thread about the statutory duty to provide single sex toilet facilities in school. Robin regards that law as an inconvenient detail so will respond with grotesque mischaracterisations if challenged.
Irish law makers may be able to pass harmful hate speech laws, but they seemingly cannot gaslight the electorate to support similar butchery to their constitution.

This is fairly intellectually vacuous for an academic lawyer.
The GC belief relates to how biological facts are managed in society.
As was found in

@ThomasWillett9

It's almost as though you don't understand that there's a difference between supporting their protections under the EqA & supporting male access to women's spaces because he "feels like a woman" and other similar misogyny.

But being white and male etc is something that can be arbitrarily attacked to make these people feel virtuous. Things that actually matter or make a difference really are secondary in their ideology.
You'd think institutions might stop behaving in a way that gets them taken to employment tribunals which they keep losing at for ignoring the precedent set by

It makes no sense that EDI is taken so seriously, but legislation and case law are ignored?
📯🎉 Tribunal awards *exemplary damages* against Social Work England for its harassment of gender critical social worker Rachel Meade.

Good to see a former PM using her platform to advocate for sex based rights and some sense of reality in law.
The legal fiction of sex written into the law by the GRA and protected by the EqA and FWS rulings needs to be reversed!
Perhaps institutions can drop the nonsense that misgendering could constitute harassment then?
Using sex based terms to accurately refer to people should be, and seemingly is, absolutely unquestionable and uncontroversial.
#AFAF
Here we are.
Stonewall recognizes that "misgendering" is something like "criticising religion"

It still feels odd that campaigning to ensure that news outlets refer to a man as a man is needed.

A pretty swift implosion of the Scottish government (I guess it isn't just UK governments that fall apart rapidly!) all on the back of a failed ideology and the harm her

The UK government stepping in was unquestionable the right call.
