I present my favorite dinosaur, Triceratops prorsus.
Used the musculature made by
@Sketchy_raptor
and the MOR 004 skull as a basis for the model
I can only say that a significant portion of research and reference gathering was used in this but I am pleased!
Now I rest.
What do you get when you put a Woolly Mammoth, a Megalonyx, and a Smilodon together?
A fucken ICONIC, icy ❄️ trio‼️
What was you fav movie? Mine was 3… the peak of the series imo.

A 2 year old girl in Morocco died because an Elephant threw a rock at her head. Idk how animals with such poor eye sight have such an insanely good throw.
#PrehistoricPlanet
I demand you to hand him over to me. I need to feed and love him. I want to call him Marty and watching grow into an absolute behemoth of power.
No reason to believe mammoths would have naked faces, the ears are too big (and very ugly), the feet are atrocious, they're too skinny, the head is the wrong shape and the way they walk is incorrect. This is ass and doesn't do mammoths any justice.
Prompt: “Several giant wooly mammoths approach treading through a snowy meadow, their long wooly fur lightly blows in the wind as they walk, snow covered trees and dramatic snow capped mountains in the distance, mid afternoon light with wispy clouds and a sun high in the distance
Finally a good look at Triceratops horridus from
#PrehistoricPlanet
and man does it look awesome.
From the clear variation in horns, to the nice bright frills and even a scales on the face instead of a smooth keratin shield, this has got to be one of the best Trikes out there 1/2
Lets get into it.

episode 5 spoilers ahead (regarding Triceratops).
I don't intend to talk about the entire episode but I enjoyed it a ton. Maybe my favorite? Its a tough choice to make. But lets talk about the real star of the show. (1/?)
Pachyrhinosaurus canadensis is done.
This model was based off of the Drumheller skull with the help of
@DanPalaeon1
skeletal. I've said it before but if it weren't for Triceratops, Pachyrhinosaurus would've been my favorite dinosaur.
Pequeno spoiler animado do Triceratops do

para o documentário "A vida do Triceratops" em dezembro no canal. Só para vocês terem uma noção melhor de como ele está ;)
I don't care if there's not enough evidence, feathered yak pachy makes too much sense design-wise as an animal for nothing like it to have ever existed 😤
Four random pieces of nostalgic palaeoart!
John Bindon’s Gastonia and Utahraptor
Chris Santoro’s Dimorphodon
Jan Sovák’s “Troodon”
John Dawson’s Iguanodon
If you're into dinos, you've probably seen some Triceratops news here and there. I'm honored to say that I've managed to get a reconstruction of mine in this wonderful project about this wonderful dinosaur. But most importantly, I'm extremely proud of Jimmy de Rooij and his work!
I don't play this game at all, but one cool thing about it is that it references the necklace Manny gets from the human dad, Runar, in the first movie.
A small detail but I love it.
Here's Protoceratops andrewsi! Made in Blender and textured in Substance Painter. After working on this I realized how truly weird of a dinosaur it was. It was quite tricky getting some details right but I am happy with how it turned out. Very satisfied with it!
The last 3 months have been... interesting to say the least. But having made these dinosaurs has been a great journey and I'm glad to have done it. I've learned a lot about 3D modelling and dinosaurs. But I will say that I am happy with the results.
The score was wonderful.
Optimus Prime was lovely.
Pretty good action scenes.
Nice character moments with Transformers for once.
Likable humans.
Certain beautiful CGI shots.
I can go on and on about this movie.
The whole trunk mitten thing is an interesting one. My original believe was that it was clearly taphonomic. However nowadays I am not so sure. Buttercup so far has the best trunk ever preserved and I see no mitten on her. I also don't buy that this thing varied per population

@billieeilish
tells Rolling Stone she's not rocking with whales.
"Oh, my God. How can anybody just accept that a whale exists, y’all? Those things are enormous. The noises they make. That shit is terrifying to me. Ew!"
Interview:
Its true! For a time, having a war elephant was effective as a lot of people didn't know what an elephant was. So you had soldiers seeing this animal the size of a house with long pointy teeth, giant ears and a nose the size of a man charging at them, terrified as hell.
@ausar_the
Elephants. When considered through the lens of someone who doesn’t know what they are, they become one of the weirdest tetrapods imaginable. You’d never predict something like them was even possible and yet they’re easily in the top five most well-known animals in the world.
I will never forgive Ice Age The Adventures of Buck Wild for starting off so strong and then going downhill rapidly. The soundtrack however was a pleasant surprise. So in short, movie started off good, had nice callbacks, OST was very nice but in the end the movie wasn't tht good
While PhP has a gorgeous Triceratops horridus, this is definitely the best Triceratops prorsus. Were it not for the quills, probably the best Triceratops period.
Therizinosaurus cheloniformis. It's probably one of the more challenging models I have done so far. The scythe lizard is cool though.

#therizinosaurus
Alright
#PrehistoricPlanet
, I yield.
While I still disagree with giving them quills, they are worthy of The Ceratopsian Seal of Approval. They're just very cool looking.
Not only that, it's such a visually appealing model. I love the stripes on the horns for example. And I love the CollectA model, so I automatically have a soft spot for it.
Honorary mention: RAUL RAMOS'S HORRIDUS. According to the Ceratopsian Custodian
@PRECISETHF
, it may actually be our most scientifically-accurate reconstruction of T. horridus!
@knight_Steve_
I think it should be noted that using elephants as a basis for depicting the movement of a sauropod (at that time at least), shouldn't be as frowned upon. Now actually basing the design of a sauropod off of elephants is a different story
This breaks my heart. Its not a bad Triceratops but it is the Jurassic World model with an edited frill and added nipple like scales.
Not to mention that Tyrannosaurus is gonna kick its ass. Will my beloved Triceratops ever get some love?
(Shoutout to Prehistoric Planet tho)
Though I got to say...ILM NEVER NAILS THEIR TRIKE!
This trike is honestly ugly, particularly compared with PhP's Alpha trike. Maybe its because the head is too small.
So I have been fortunate enough to have done an internship at
@museumnaturalis
back in 2021 for about a year and for half of that, I was allowed to work on their Triceratops project and make a 3D reconstruction of RGM.1332500 or better known as Dirk. Heres a small thread on that.
People of Twitter who know a thing or two about paleontology, I am curious, is there any reason proper why one could consider Edmontosaurus annectens as a separate genus like Anatosaurus or Anatotitan? I personally see no reason for it to be another genus, but I am no expert.
@AllosaurusJP
I have been summoned. Theo is surprisingly pretty damn accurate, especially the skull. The nostrils need to be placed more forward and some more cheeks wouldn't hurt. The outer toes are wrong however and he could stand to be a bit wider at the ribs and legs. 6.5 out of 10.
IN CONCLUSION, The depiction of Triceratops horridus in Prehistoric Planet is fantastic and with little to no flaws. Individual variation and portraying them as herd animals was on point and done extremely well. A solid depiction of my favorite dinosaur, the best dinosaur (14/14)
It bothers me that there's opinions on whether or not a T.rex would risk getting hurt when its not needed. It seems obvious to me that no animal, no matter how big, is going to put itself in a risky situation. It might be more fair to ask if a Quetz would risk tempting the king.
Imagine just being a living fortress, or just seeing a group of these majestic beings. Seeing bachelor herds of African Elephants is a different experience fr
Either people misinterpreted my original tweet or there's some very upset people about this. If it's the former, I by no means think its a bad Triceratops, I just think its somewhat of a shame it didn't get its own model. I personally haven't seen anyone mad over it either tbh.
Deep within the cave, the Triceratops are now in complete darkness. While cave dwelling large animals may seem odd at first, my favorite animals, The African Elephant does this very thing to get to salt deposits. (8/?)
Thanks to a wonderful colleague I have managed to finally get my Horridus merch! The CollectA figure is beautiful and the book is fascinating! These were truly extraordinary animals.
