Tried buying from an ethical fashion brand, got frustrated by the rather glacial process, decided to look in the mirror and ask myself why. Bon appetit

Is ethical fashion too slow to compete – or am I just being impatient?

No one's telling *them* because plenty of people, myself included, think *they* look spectacular.
We also think people should be allowed to dress however the fuck they like.

Why should Little Mix cover up? They're adult women who can do what they like. Fans aren't going for me because they can tell I'm saying the girls deserved better than these looks.

The salaries for any editor roles I've even glanced at in the last two years have been, frankly, embarrassing.

Love this. When my family went to see the Noughties version of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, there was a moment where Lucy goes to revive the dead Aslan with her magic elixir, but Susan shakes her head, and she stops. A little boy behind us whispered 'Just TRY' 💔

I always crack up at a story where a friend of my sister's sent their whole karate class a gif of pretty fireworks on 5 Nov. Only the fireworks formed a giant penis in the sky.
Could we have a government broadcast about couples not making single people walk IN THE ROAD to keep their 2m distance, because y'all can't be bothered to bunch up or walk single file?

😂 I always liked that, how the guys weren't Brad Pitt. See also: how Miranda and Carrie aren't Angelina Jolie. But yeah, I get you.
Doing some editing for a newspaper this week. My number one tip for the writers I'm editing? Free yourself from insanely long sentences.
Read back a sentence as if speaking it aloud. If your listener would lose track of your point, or you'd be gasping for breath, it's too long.
Haven't done a PR moan in YEARS, but this tone is an instant block (especially to someone who has never, ever written about convenience foods) 🙄
Coverage is earned by something genuinely cool or intriguing, not a cute favour for your BFF
@IanDunt
I kind of disagree on this one. Plenty of sombre faces and hopes for swift recovery across the entire official UK media, if that's what you're after. Let social media say what it really thinks🤷♀️
I passed my driving test this morning at the grand old age of 36. I don't know who needs to hear this but:

Last night I went to a place where you can just have a parade of croquetas for every course including desert, and I have to say it was every bit as thrilling as it sounds
I don't know who needs to hear this, but don't fit around men who don't give you what you need. I spent literal years trying to make it work with cold, avoidant types - met one honest, secure person who's done the work on themselves and it's a different WORLD.

today: Three weeks ago, I embarked on one of those 'mystery trips' where you do a personality quiz and find out at the airport where you're going. I found the concept... flawed.
Hotels, for the love of god, you would get so much more PR if you just advertised one single PR or marketing contact on your website ! One!
I have gone on *hours*-long goose chases for each hotel I'm writing about this week and... FFS, make Public Relations Public Again
Great article, and a good reminder that travel editors and writers have a duty to highlight unknown parts of the world's top destinations and warn about the impact of tourism to those top 20 places
I swear to god, some writers are so rude and whiny to me about doing basic, needed amends to their stories. In a way that I KNOW, on a chemical level, they just wouldn't dare to be with the average ~50 year old male travel editors.
Travel hill I will die on: If a plane has seats that recline, we are all allowed to recline.
Doesn't matter if it's a short flight, if it's meal time, if the person behind is watching something on their phone.
Sitting martyrishly upright for two hours is batshit
Looking to speak to travellers actively planning lower-carbon/overland slow-travel trips this year. Cross-country trains and coaches, ferries - the longer and more winding the road, the better!

Journo friends - I just finished first interview I've recorded to my Google Pixel, and when I went to send the file to myself it asked IF I WANTED IT TO TRANSCRIBE THE CHAT FOR ME.
AND IT DID. IN HARDLY ANY GOBBLEDYGOOK.
Game. Changer.
Anticipating some flak for this, but...
Why do the parents of small children sometimes behave as though the world (or passengers on a plane) revolve around them?
Hear me out -
Last word, I promise: if you love a magazine, buy it. Some think print is dead - I still live for a stack of glossies, read in the bath or on the beach. Fork out: subscribe, or buy it whenever you have the cash. Clickbait & listicles won't take you there, not really. Thack out.

Travel fans - do you know what I mean when I say I love "dry heat"? I.e. non-humid winter sun? Places with a breeze and a toasty, unsweaty climate?

Not me forgetting to do the Spanish passenger locator form until 0.2 seconds before passport control 🤦♀️
I've only spent seven months writing up every tiny rule change of every bloomin' holiday destination
I know that's five, but a bonus one for the trip/pitch planning stage:
Always think: What do real, non-travel-industry people want to do on holiday? What do your friends, partner, Auntie Sue look forward to?
In many cases, it’s not what the tourist board thinks they do.

To the gentleman who commented that it's 'Not hard to see why I'm single', I have a current affairs update for you: Women in relationships are allowed to travel solo on planes! And have opinions about things. Spread the word.
Families travelling by plane need to plan ahead to get their preferred seating arrangement – and it’s not up to solo passengers to accommodate them, says
