Thank you to everyone who joined us in the spirit of togetherness, love and friendship to celebrate

at Croke Park on Saturday, and all who worked so hard to make it possible. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.

As the freezing winter days and nights persist, the Islamic Centre of Ireland extends a warm invitation to anyone seeking shelter. Our doors are open, embracing people from all walks of life, irrespective of their backgrounds or religion.
Irish Muslim Council supports the position of
@CatholicPrimary
about the teaching of gender identity issues in primary schools.
It is not appropriate to teach primary school children such a complex and contested topic......
We strongly condemn this propaganda and wish to clarify that the Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Council has never advocated for Shariah Law in Ireland.
We invited three representatives of political unionism (including from the DUP) to join us at Croke Park to join our multifaith, cross-community guests in the celebration of Eid. Only former Sen Ian Marshall was gracious enough to attend. Should we now view that as a snub Gary?
Disappointing response and a missed opportunity from President Michael D Higgins. His intention to snub a cross-community, multi faith led church service to mark the Northern Ireland centenary will no doubt have an impact on how his Presidency will be remembered.
The Tánaiste discussing our society in the tired language of Catholic and Protestant does nothing but exclude the hundreds of thousands of Irish people who are agnostic, atheist, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, spiritual or anything else. It is 2021.
If any issue arises concerning our office, the blame will fall on
@BenGilroyIR
. He recently shared a photo of a sticker featuring our website on his account, sparking outrage among thousands of followers who believed it to be accurate before he removed it.
“We will not allow the far-right to use these events to divide us. We know they do not care for LGBTQI rights. They cruelly throw LGBTQI Muslims in the same category as their persecutors, attempt to silence them and their allies within the Muslim community.” —

Here at the Irish Muslim Council, our members come from and have roots in all parts of the world. So here are our tips on staying cool in this heatwave. 🧵
Our Chairperson was attacked in a premeditated attack today. Cowards struck him from behind, causing him to lose consciousness. He was disoriented upon regaining consciousness and is currently being monitored in the hospital for concussion. Prayers for the Shaykh. 🤲🏻🙏
I have experienced a deliberate hate crime attack in Tallaght a few hours ago. I would like to express my gratitude to the kind Irish lady and two Irish gentlemen who assisted me when I collapsed and safely helped me into my car. I am currently receiving medical care at the

Our deepest condolences to all families and friends of those who lost their lives and are affected by the devastating explosion in Creeslough, Donegal.
This is a massive tragedy and the whole country is in shock.
Adolescence is a psychologically challenging time for many children. We cannot simply expose children to a random lottery of ideologies or treatments in the light of what went wrong at the Tavistock clinic.

Acoustic issues meant that the Islamic Centre of Ireland Children's Choir and piper
@OisinOSiochain
didn't finish our anthem at exactly the same time. But Eid is about family, love and joy, so I hope you enjoy listening as much as our children enjoyed singing Amhrán na bhFiann.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of the father of our Chairperson,
@DrUmarAlQadri
after a brief illness today. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

We’ve had to delete several comments like this from the video of Rabbi Zalman’s address to Eid at Croke Park 2021. Conflating the Jewish faith and people with Israel’s crimes is racist, anti-Semitic and always unacceptable.
Also this tweet isn't really doing numbers but still: if anyone in Belfast or Dublin has a bicycle they would like to donate to an asylum seeker in temporary accommodation, please DM us.

How is teaching children about a complex topic such as gender identity and confusing them at a young age inclusion ? Secondary school is more appropriate for such discussions.

choosing to broadcast sectarian chanting is appalling. If a minority that makes up 40.8% of the population can be treated this way, we shudder to think what the BBC thinks of smaller minorities in the North.

In 2014, the newly elected DUP leader Edwin Poots vowed to pray for a man who said "Islam is a doctrine spawned in Hell." Muslim, POC, LGBT & other minority communities in the North must be respected and cherished.
If they're aren't, we know where Poots' ideology was spawned.
IMPIC, our chairperson and our team will always stand for human rights issues. We have always spoken out against FGM, we stand for LGBT* rights, we have a better gender balance on our board than Dáil Éireann. I thought anti-vaxxers did their research?
