Sincere thanks for all the good wishes. On a tough day for our party, I am humbled to be elected to represent my home of Dublin Rathdown in Dáil Éireann alongside my friend Josepha Madigan. I was so lucky to have the support of the best team imaginable.

Instead of criticising Northern Ireland's First Minister for resigning, the U.K. government should blame the EU for breaking the Protocol and disrupting GB to NI trade.
Not just
#ErasmusPlus
but Dublin will also fund the inclusion of Northern Ireland in the
#EHIC
(the old E111) post
#Brexit
. Tangible & important commitments delivered.
The EU's refusal to find a solution to the GB/NI trade problems they have created has undermined the new Northern Ireland Assembly and the Good Friday Agreement. If they will not help resolve it the U.K. must legislate a solution.
There is a massive lack of understanding in the UK on what the
#brexit
bill actually is. It’s not a punishment payment, it’s a settling of accounts based on programmes the UK has already benefitted from like CAP, Erasmus & Horizon 2020 not to mention pensions for British citizens
@Conservatives
Ah lads, it’s not about siding with the EU. It’s about honouring an international agreement. An international agreement your leader, negotiated, campaigned on & delivered.
We proposed to the European Commission that maintaining surcharge free mobile roaming be part of Brexit negotiations. They rejected that.
Respect to
@VirginMedia
and
@O2
for keeping free roaming across Europe for its customers.
I have referred the relocation of to Waterford from the UK to
@comreg
to see if it is legitimate. This is an odious organisation with a dubious reputation not just limited to it’s role in the
#Brexit
campaign:
Utterly tiring carry on, Lord Frost can draw up all he likes but it doesn’t change the terms & responsibilities of a legally binding international treaty.
This is the same Protocol that Mr Bridgen voted for, the same Protocol that his Govt negotiated & agreed, a Protocol brought about because of his
#Brexit
. It is not a foreign construct & this continued campaign of dishonesty is odious. The EU never asked for any of this.
“We are being stitched up by the European Union”
Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen says the Northern Ireland Protocol has led to Arlene Foster standing down as NI First Minister
#PoliticsLive
Usually you could dismiss & laugh at such wild pieces but this is a very dangerous rewriting of history devoid of any facts. Yet another new low in the
#brexit
blame game.
The so called bad boys of
#Brexit
think their attempted relocation of convenience to Waterford is one big joke they can waffle away with insults. It is not, this incursion into democracy will be challenged & met with rigorous scrutiny:
Hi
@dailyexpressuk
, how is narnia? This week a poll showed 93% of Irish people favour staying in the EU, that’s up 13% from 2013, obvs
#Brexit
is part of this. Please educate yourselves, ta.

1st UK journalist I've seen who did this, AND to the man responsible for it 👇
1) The backstop is not anti democratic, that’s new found spin
2) Mr Johnson voted for it
3) Goodwill isn’t enough
4) The backstop is an insurance policy
5) The majority in Northern Ireland support the backstop
6) The backstop protects not threatens the

Nothing new alas
I have written to
@eucopresident
about key aspects of the UK’s approach to Brexit, problems with the “backstop” & the Government’s commitment to the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement whether there is a deal with the EU or not.

@KimBielenberg
Ireland’s GDP per head of the population is 6th in the world, UK’s is 26th.
Ireland is on the UNSC.
Ireland is a full member of the EU so represented at both G7 & G20.
Ireland beat the All Blacks twice this summer.
Hi
@ArleneFosterUK
, here’s your statement welcoming the Withdrawal Agreement and NI Protocol in Dec 2020…… now it’s missing from the DUP archive 🤷🏻♂️
1) Northern Ireland’s economy is out preforming the rest of the UK
2) You’ve tried nothing else
3) Trying to laugh off a plan to break international law & refer to critique as “remainiac make believe” is beyond ridiculous.
A shameful intervention.
Checks on food imports from the EU 'would have been an act of self-harm', says

after the UK delayed plans to impose the checks until the end of 2023
Boris Johnson lies at the despatch box... again
"If we had listened to him we wouldn't even have had the vaccine rollout, because we would have remained in the European medicines agency"
#PMQs
The EU never wanted
#Brexit
but the fact that it always fall to the EU to find solutions to the problems

causes is a withering reflection on this British Govt & the people who pushed for Leave without any care for those it impacts.
Frost tells
#CPC21
they only agreed to the protocol because remainers made them. Even though they had an 80-seat majority at the time and made all their candidates sign a pledge they'd pass it. But privately they knew it would go wrong and its collapse shows them to be wise. ~AA
EXCL:
@ITVNews
has obtained pictures of Boris Johnson drinking at a No10 party during lockdown in November 2020.
The photos cast fresh doubt on the PM's repeated claims he was unaware of rule-breaking in No10 during the pandemic.

Paddy, I’ve met you 2/3 times, we share a mutual friend, I’m also not a catholic. I’d rather spend the day celebrating my son’s birthday than being trolled by you so maybe come back to me Monday or something.
I know
@nealerichmond
a long time
He is by nature not a west brit, but a castle catholic. Let me explain
West Brits were mostly republican. Neale’s not
Neale is an overt Castle Catholic. Historically CC’s are classist, anti-parliamentarian & royalist. This is the Neale I know
And so with the ending of the

transition period, all that’s left to say to my fellow Europeans in the U.K. is, to quote Vera Lynn, “we’ll meet again”.

#BrexitReality
1) Northern Ireland opposed Brexit
2) Northern Ireland accepts the protocol
3) Northern Ireland was & is consulted
4) You don’t care about Ireland: North, South or all.
If Ireland and the EU had insisted the people of N Ireland were consulted before having the Protocol imposed on them, all this could have been avoided. But they insisted they weren’t consulted… and now look at the mess,
@simoncoveney
Last night on GB News, Brexiteer Kate Hoey admitted Northern Ireland was "sacrificed" because otherwise "it could have been that we weren't going to get Brexit at all."
How she can call herself a patriot is beyond belief.
Sophie Raworth - Have you been conducting security checks on Ukrainian refugees?
Micheál Martin(Irish PM) - No... our primary impulse is to assist those fleeing war... & we believe that's the correct thing to do..

Ah the old Australian style deal, also known as the Mongolian, Mauritania or Somali style post

deal. Such terms would be devastating for the UK.
BREAKING: Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he has concluded 'we should get ready for an Australia-style deal' and adds the EU 'are not willing to offer the UK the same terms as Canada'.

Do you know what defies logic? Campaigning for the hardest possible
#Brexit
, ignoring all the problems it presents, providing no solutions then trying to blame the EU, repeatedly.
Whilst the UK wants to have a good trade relationship with the EU as a sovereign state, the EU has different ideas. They want our money and they want to stop us being a competitor. The Withdrawal Agreement (WA) we signed last year sadly helps them. (1/3)
Good man Arron, back to the worst time in human history when hundreds of millions died. What is it with the

fundamentalists & their nostalgia for a time before they were born? Equating air raids with regulations on banana packaging.
Classy stuff as ever from this rag, platforming anonymous twitter abuse & packaging it up as journalism.
Great stuff lads, let us know the next time you think Norway is leaving the EU again...

Scotland, like Northern Ireland, didn’t vote for the
#Brexit
mess but the Protocol can limit the damage for all of Ireland.
I can only sympathise with the frustration of
@NicolaSturgeon
given what is being foisted upon her country.
Of course, the EU has already done much of this as part of a wide ranging & comprehensive agreement.
