Diane Montagna Interviews Edward Feser on 'Dignitas infinita' | The imprecise and extreme rhetoric about human dignity in the new Declaration, and the radical new conclusion about the death penalty that the Declaration draws from this rhetoric, are . . .

Happy Easter to all my friends who are celebrating on this holy night!!
It’s incredibly unhelpful + demoralising for people to hear about Britain being ‘lost’ or London being ‘lost’. Nothing is ever lost in life.
The next decade requires laser focus and long-term dedication and belief. Losing one election should push you to work harder on the next.
Absolutely gutted to be so near, yet so far.
It has been my honour to serve citizens in the WM for the last seven years, and I hope I have done it with dignity & integrity.
I am proud of what we have achieved together and I hope my successor can build upon it.
Thank you all.
We are stuck for another four years with this man hanging like a perpetual rain-cloud over London, casting gloom and depression in all directions and palpably uninterested in the actual job.
Wow
@Councillorsuzie
this is the best speech by a defeated candidate I’ve heard.
Respectfully eviscerating.
The arrogance and disdain on Khan’s face as you tell him just a few home truths.

@BBCRadio3
The station has turned into classic FM with ‘diversity’ at every turn.
@classicjacko
imposed changes which no one wanted, asked for or more importantly needed. I feel so sorry for the presenters.
The mutilation of Radio 3
Trade Secretary
@KemiBadenoch
is getting flak from both
@EdConwaySky
and
@ChrisGiles_
for not using inflation-adjusted figures in her statement to House of Commons yesterday.
The problem with that flak? She *did* use inflation-adjusted figures.
You should apologise Ed & Chris
Ok...
The full data has been released by
@londonelects
and I've done some digging.
In areas the Tories won, the turnout is up 6.5k votes.
In areas the Labour party won, the turnout is down ~42k votes.
Only a small swing is required for Khan to lose.
Worth pointing out that winning London mayoral race by 10pts (Curtice projection) when your party is 26pts ahead nationally and 34pts ahead in your city (YouGov) would be an utterly awful performance.
@jdportes
typically rude & tangential response which as usual fails to deal with any of the substantive points raised but instead hones in on a single phrase in a vain attempt to discredit the entire substance of & once again shut down debate.
I shall respond to this in full
Are
#rejoinEU
campaigners serious about Europe?
As frustrating as UK politics is, everyone knows the direction or travel is towards Europe. That will involve winning a referendum well on the substance of the acquis.

@danielmgmoylan
What a ridiculous post Daniel.
The courts act in accordance with the law.
If the governments plans on climate are unlawful that means the current government is lot acting in line with laws passed by a previous elected government.
Which is stupidity on the part of the government.

What is really tragic is that these spreadsheet sociopaths would gleefully trade in our democracy and self government to accelerate GDP growth by a rounding error.
It scarcely matters who is right about the figures. There is NO justification for rule by remote politburo.
Note the concluding argument here that, in effect, only a lawyer is allowed a view on a constitutional matter, which can only be settled by legal argument. Another example of law edging out politics and further proof of a need to rebalance the constitution.
When the courts enforce a law passed by Parliament, this is not an abandonment of judicial restraint. Rather, it is the judiciary ensuring that the executive honours the will of Parliament as expressed in law.
Parliament passed the Climate Change Act 2008.
Despite there being…
