This has to be one of the worst nights at the soup run we have ever seen. It was like a stampede at the table. We had 580 meals & we ran out of meals. We had problems controlling the people fighting to skip the queue to get food. Imagine being so hungry and desperate for food.

We served for 2 hours and ran out of literally everything. Two of our volunteers had to run down the street to go to Mcdonald's and get burgers for the rest of the people that were left with no hot food even though today we had a whooping 400 hot meals.

Imagine a cold winter night and having to queue up for long hours just to get a hot meal for yourself or for your children. Just visualise that for a second. This is the reality for hundreds of people in dublin tonight.

We woke up this morning to a blanket of snow and our first thoughts were of our preparations for tonight. We have to have enough sleeping bags, hats, gloves and scarves and plenty of socks! Due to our experience of previous heavy weather alerts, we know that the feet are the…

This evening, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. We arrived at 6pm and there was already a queue of people waiting. We spoke to two people in the queue who let us know that they had been waiting in the queue since 4.45pm. They waited for little over an hour just so that…

We knew and were expecting that the preparations we had to make for tonight's soup run would be extensive. Tonights weather just made people want socks, jackets, and runners. The day before yesterday we had bought penneys vouchers to ensure we would be able to help and provide…

A very cold & bitter night. It is so heartbreaking. We went to offer a rough sleeper a sleeping bag warm food & asked him to put a mask on & he said he’d rather catch the virus at this stage than to continue living the way he was. We had 500 meals & lots of crisps & baked goods.

Over the years, we’ve had a lot of hard nights, but tonight, was one of the hardest. We were forced to shut down the table to try and take control of the situation. We even contemplated shutting down the soup run altogether for the safety of our team and for everybody else.

Tonight's Soup Run was exhausting! There were so many families and children. It is so not right to see so many children queuing up at a soup run. We had 400 hot meals tonight apart from sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, crisps, chocolate. A huge thank you to all our volunteers who…

As we embark on our third week of Ramadan, tonight unfolded much like any other week of the year. However, a concerning trend has emerged over the past month. The absence of the other two soup runs that typically follow our own MSOE soup run has become increasingly noticeable. We…

We urge you all, as the nights are getting bitter, to think of those who are underprivileged, those who are cold and hungry and those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Please help us help them, they deserve our love and kindness.

Tonight a young couple with a six and half month baby presented themselves as homeless to one of our team volunteers. The couple didn't know where to go and find shelter. It took our team volunteers an hour of back-and-forth calls to emergency services to find them a place.
