We were honoured today to be invited to the funeral and the janazah prayer of Sister Sinéad O’Connor. She was an activist for women’s rights and was an advocate for change. May Allah bless her with the highest level in Paradise.

This has to be one of the worst nights at the soup run we have ever seen. It was like a stampede at the table. We had 580 meals & we ran out of meals. We had problems controlling the people fighting to skip the queue to get food. Imagine being so hungry and desperate for food.
An extremely sad day at our soup run. The desperation is indescribable. The queue went all the way down to Henry Street. We were inundated by the donations tonight, more than 400 hot meals, fruits, pastries, sandwiches, chocolates, cakes, drinks etc.

We served for 2 hours and ran out of literally everything. Two of our volunteers had to run down the street to go to Mcdonald's and get burgers for the rest of the people that were left with no hot food even though today we had a whooping 400 hot meals.
