Having the Royals move downtown is an exciting prospect. When done well, ballparks can add to already vibrant downtowns. But I've always said that three things are key: 1) Minimal disruption to the street grid, 2) minimal disruption to homes and businesses, 3) private financing.

It’s fun to see some of the little policy wins take physical form. A couple of street cafes that wouldn’t be possible six months ago. One is still under construction at Made in KC Cafe and the other is at KC Taco Co.

I’m sick today! Symptoms indicate a just a bad cold but I’m not taking any chances so I’ve locked myself in my bedroom. But I’m watching Channel 2 so I can keep up with my council colleagues in our special hearing on #COVID19 .

The only relevance of the urban/rural reference is that urban hospitals are filling up with rural COVID patients. Rural MO where 14 hospitals have shuttered since 2014 because of failure to expand Medicaid. Urban MO where local electeds have actually led the fight against COVID.

Homicides are at an all time high and officer brutality is common under Smith’s leadership. Enough is enough, Chief Smith should resign or be fired. Aside from Mayor Lucas, the BOPC continues to show disregard for this citizens of this city by refusing to enact sweeping change.
