Here’s your reminder that you are your best and only sure bet. Refuse to be a bystander in your own life. Everything around you is entirely up to you. Make up your mind and make the best choices for yourself.
“I want to live so densely, lush, and slow in the next few years, that a year becomes ten years, and my past becomes only a page in the book of my life.”

Mr. Nice guy is always so upset when his niceness, that he carries so tenderly on his head, can’t get him the babe that he wants. Move along bro, it’s not them it’s you, you’re not the one.
A good time to remember this piece I wrote. Emecheta lived an intriguing life. A mother of five at 23 and she still went on to become a prolific novelist. Remarkable.

Resilience is one of the best traits a person can possess.
Life won’t hesitate to keep throwing curveballs at you, and the ability to bounce back consistently is a superpower.

I wrote a thing for the end of the year. Short, simple, and sweet. Do read and share xx.
I’m glad I’ve learned to run and not just walk away from toxic friendships. Those things drain your time, energy, and peace. Not worth it. Keep going, better friends dey for front.

When her husband burnt one of her early manuscripts, Buchi Emecheta—born today in 1944, 22 and raising 5 children in London—took her kids and left.
In 1974, she published her first novel, Second Class Citizen.
By 1983, she was one of Granta’s Best Young British Novelists.
