@Dannythefink My uncle was part of London's Jewish volunteers sent to Belsen when it was liberated. He set up 'Sam's Cafe' to feed the starving to make them fit enough to travel. Met a Polish woman. Married her.

@sturgios @FourFourTwo My brother was manager of a Co-op in Hampshire when security chased a shoplifter. As the thief got to the front door Matt Le Tissier was coming in. The thief stopped momentarily and went 'fuck me, it's Matt Le T....' before security guards pounced on him (the thief, not Matt).

@Baddiel @daraobriain Hi, I'm a hairy biker and me and my mates often pay to go to these gigs where we'll not laugh at a single joke, get offended by the act and end up in a massive fight, spilling out into the car park where all our motorbikes will get knocked over, making us even angrier.

@ConfedMatthew @DAaronovitch We found a mobile phone, clearly belonging to a child but it was locked ..and in German. When a text came up it allowed us to reply, giving them our number. Eventually the child's mum replied. We posted it to them in Germany. Kind to Kinder.

Top piece about the disgrace of Qatar's WC. FIFA should never be forgiven for this, nor Beckham whose avarice is greater than his desire for a knighthood it seems. But Neville and Lineker had a chance to show how genuine their humanitarian credentials really are and have failed.

@AyoCaesar Back in the early 80s my friend was flashed at on London Bridge in the wee hours by a man with no trousers on. She ran off but immediately came across his trousers which he'd tucked away at the side of the pavement and threw them in the river.
