A penguin about the size of a human has been unearthed in Waipara, North Canterbury.
The species weighed up to 80kg and about 1.6m tall, one of the largest penguins ever discovered.

Around 60 Air NZ employees farewelled the All Blacks ahead of their trip to Japan with a moving haka on the tarmac at Auckland International Airport.
