Here's the Cruz limerick some have requested:
My feelings bout Cruz are complex
His home runs soar several decks
He's kind and he's shy
But if he'd caught that fly
We wouldn't still have this damn hex.
A kind man just came up to our table and said “it’s Easter. I am buying a book for the next person who comes up to the table.” Gave me the $20 and left. Then a guy came up and said “sorry I don’t have the money to buy a book. I recently got out of prison .” THANK YOU BOTH!!!
In addition to being incredibly brilliant , Norm Hitzges is one of the most kind and caring people I’ve ever known. You can’t possibly find a better friend. Congratulations Norm, you deserve all the love you’re getting
The Ballpark provided such bliss for me
But leaving it isn't a mystery
‘Cause believe it or not
Our booth is bloody hot!
With that I say, “This park is history!”
See ya at globelifefield ! @ Globe Life Park in…
RIP Whitey Herzog. Before my first MLB broadcast in 1979 I asked Whitey for one piece of baseball wisdom I need to remember. He said, “Nothing makes a manager look dumber than a bad bullpen.” And I’ve never forgotten it. Thanks Whitey.
I am still self quarantined but am healthy and tested negative again today. Catch me today at 520pm
@1053thefan
talkin
@Rangers
Again tonight
@JaredSandler
will excel in the play by play role. Air time 7:30pm
One of my proudest moments was passing the Ford Frick Award torch to one of my heroes Dick Enberg, a kind caring man as well as a brilliant announcer. Wish I had known him longer.
I will be on
@1053thefan
by phone at 5:20pm talking
@Rangers
and unfortunately Covid 19.
@JaredSandler
will take my place tonight. I am fine and tested negative but have been exposed and have to be careful for my sake and others
PLEASE WEAR YOUR MASKS AND STAY SIX FEET APART!!
We had a great three years with Jake.
Not one thing about him is fake.
Without part of his colon
This season he’s rollin.
In Phoenix he’s now Jake the snake. @ Phoenix, Arizona
We are all devastated. Ted was a great friend and a kind, compassionate and caring person. He so adored his three daughters. Can’t imagine what it will be like for all of us without him. RIP Ted.
The Texas Rangers send their thoughts and prayers to the family of the team’s radio network engineer Ted Nichols-Payne, who passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon at the age of 56. He was the the primary radio engineer of Rangers broadcasts for most of the last 30 years.
His dazzling plays came every game.
How breathtaking! Never the same.
With each Gold Glove miracle
The proof was empirical,
He’s headed for the Hall of Fame.
We will miss you Adrian!…

MY FAVORITE RANGER
My favorite Ranger is Beltre.
He has the charisma of Elway.
Just don’t touch his head
Or you’re going to be dead.
Don’t want him to quit fans? Then, well, Pray!
So finally we have a book.
And I’m surprised how long it took.
But now that it’s here
There’s one thing that’s clear.
You all really must have a look.
LIM-ERIC! Now on sale !
Congrats to
@JoshBogorad
on winning his first Texas Sportscaster of the Year award !! So well deserved. Can’t imagine a playbyplay challenge more difficult than doing hockey games remotely off TV monitors. He pulled it off brilliantly.
I’m not blaming this all on Paul Nauert
But his call on 3-2 wasn’t smart
His mistake on that pitch
Caused us rightly to bitch
But we shouldn’t have fallen apart
I am thankful for getting to see
Adrian, who could hit on one knee.
Surely he’ll get the call
To go into The Hall.
Now does anyone dare disagree ??
Thanks Adrian! And thanks
@rangers
…
May 5, 1957 my dad took me to Ebbets Field for my first game. Hank went 4 for 5 with a HR, batting second. He was a hero of mine ever since and sent me an autographed photo when I wrote to him! RIP
Spectacular job by
@FOXSportsSW
in producing this video. Thanks so much ! Hope
@Rangers
fans get out here one last time. Come say hi to
@EmilyJonesMcCoy
and me tonight behind sec 13.
It’s time to do our summer reading.
It’s a program that children are needing .
These kids have a burning
Desire for learning
That’s the hunger that we should be feeding
We start TOMORROW 1pm at Cockrell Hill Library. 4125 W Clarendon Rd. Dallas TX 75211
As the end of December drew near
Our best hope for the next year grew clear.
Let’s just try to be kind.
Can we keep that in mind
And resolve to do that this new year?
Eric, Jeannie and Kirby
So fans send us your videos please.
Our announcer will say what he sees.
We’re gonna await em
So we can narrate em
Because finding time should be a breeze
Want your very own highlight reel?
@nadeler
and
@CJNitkowski
are looking to stay sharp during this off period with some practice reps!
From killin’ time with ⚾️ in the backyard or mundane tasks around the house, submit your videos below for a chance to be featured on Friday!
Wash says that’s the way baseball go.
We won’t be in this year’s fall show.
One day we’ll be in it
And then when we win it
I’ll make that last call nice and slow.
THANKS for…
Due to a haboob we had a 22 Minute delay and were knocked off the air prompting this:
We lost power due to haboob.
(Can we say that word on the tube?)
We lost our connection
In every section.
Perhaps some key part needed lube.
I’m thankful that his great career
Was something that we all could cheer.
His Hall case is well stated
It is not complicated.
Beltre at third base had no peer.
Hey
@rangers
fans...Look for
#LIM
-ERIC! The book very soon on Amazon. The E book is already on sale.
We all adore Emily Jones
Although her bad jokes bring us groans.
In that small camera well
It can be hot as hell.
Still, her voice has such refreshing tones.
So happy for my friend John Sterling for going out on his own terms. Sad I won’t ever get to hear him and delight in his big personality and love for the game and the Yankees. He’s a wonderful throwback to the glory days of radio. Enjoy retirement John!

Finally we get to broadcast a road game in person! We are actually in Houston for

Seems like forever since 2019. And it’s 75 degrees so the roof is open. First pitch 7:10pm
The food on the plane’s from Chipotle But its better than going by boat, see? It’s a four hour flight, most of it in daylight. I might just get drunk. But don’t quote me.
Yea the ballpark is hot to be sure,
But it still hasn’t lost its allure.
This beautiful park
Brought us out of the dark
And the memories here will endure.
I’ll sell &sign books tomorrow 530-645pm begind Sec 13
@Rangers
Foundation table.
Catch me today 520pm
@1053thefan
The A’s now have Jurickson Profar.
They pried him away with a crowbar.
The
@rangers
were itching
To get some young pitching
Before long this team’s gonna go far!
Good luck…
Right on, Rhett! The pre-game's portrayal of DFW as all s-kicking cowboys listening to nothing but country music was way off base. We have so much more to offer musically.
Rangers column: Jon Daniels knew it was time to go. A year later, as the Rangers thrive, so does he. Enjoyed getting to catch up with him & those close to him
When I see those Redbirds from St. Louis
I’m reminded of what they did to us.
I see Cardinal red
And go out of my head
Thinking, “Why did the baseball gods screw us?”
I’ll sign and sell Lim-Eric! Today 1-150pm…
Today’s 8th inning limerick:
On a day when it’s one hundred seven
Yo pitched like an angel from heaven
RBIs from Odor
We could not ask for more
Hope we don’t go to inning eleven
Tonight’s regularly scheduled 8th inning limerick:
So we traded Keone Kela.
He’s one mighty valuable fellah.
I hope that Keone
Brings back a Jim Thome
Or maybe a Roy Campanella.
She’s one of a kind, this Ms. Jones
Wish she had twin sisters or clones.
Our whole batting order
Is there to support her.
They’ve ruined every dress that she owns

Tonight’s limerick with illustration by
@artmanjames5
who will illustrate LIM-ERIC! to be published in November.
It's amazing how Rougned Odor
Had a start that was dreadfully poor
But now he’s on fire
Can he go any higher?
(His contract’s not bad anymore.)
Oh you thought I meant Senator Cruz?
Politics...not a subject I choose.
Though it was my major
In college, I'd wager
That now it just gives me the blues.
When I asked Al to sign a ball for my charity auction he said "bring as many as you'd like. I'm not going to able to do this forever. " So kind and caring. Treated everyone as an equal.
We've lost Mr. Tiger, Al Kaline, who seemed as if he was Detroit's eternal sports presence. Last saw him a month ago at spring training. He clearly was weakening, which was not comprehensible.
Tonight’s 8th inning limerick:
The season is now halfway done
With many more games lost than won.
During this second half
We may trade half our staff.
The chance we trade Mike Minor : none.
He used to be known for the punch
That made Jose B. spit his lunch.
Now his bat is speaking.
I think he is peaking.
His home runs have come in a bunch.
She’s one of a kind, this Ms. Jones
Wish she had twin sisters or clones.
Our whole batting order
Is there to support her.
They’ve ruined every dress that she owns
The Mariners ballpark is far
From our hotel but don’t send a car
I like walking to safeco
Two miles. My legs chafe though
I need lubricant. Bring me a jar.
The Angels will observe a moment of silence in Gerry Fraley’s memory prior to Saturday’s game with the Rangers in Anaheim. A very classy gesture indeed.
So Ian has said he’s retiring.
On the field he will not be perspiring.
He won most every tussle
With his heart, guts and hustle.
I’d say his career was inspiring.
Congrats i.kinsler3 on a remarkable career. Proud…
And still I will not question why
The MVP went to a guy
Whose slugging was fierce,
The amazing Steve Pearce.
And with that we bid baseball “Goodbye.”
Congratulations
@RedSox
!
Watch for the book

-ERIC coming soon to Amazon.
Of course Cole has gone to the Cubs
Not one of the other eight clubs.
He’s their sixth former Ranger
So he won’t be a stranger.
He’ll now buy their drinks at the pubs.
Moving to 5:40pm today on
@1053thefan
Trade deadline affects everyone but at least nobody in our booth got traded. Lots of interest in
@JaredSandler
but we decided to keep the young guy
Texas Rangers play by play announcer and baseball legend Eric Nadel repping on the flight to Cleveland where everyone on the team wears their favorite musician tees!
Kirby is thankful for not shivering this morning in Colorado. And for being able to ditch the jacket on our afternoon walk. Have a great day everybody.
I was a ballboy at the first US Open Tennis Tournament after pros were allowed to play in 1969.
@rodlaver
won the tourney to complete the Grand Slam and I caught the last point. I offered it to him and he said to keep it. Which I did. But when I was in college my mom threw it out
Fantastic piece. Another example of why The Athletic is a must read every day! Hanging out with Tom Grieve has been one of the great joys of my 42 years with
@Rangers
My only regret on this Tom Grieve story? I had to leave so much good stuff on the cutting room floor.
The final version is just over 4,000 words. The first draft? ~10,000
Had a great time today reading to kids at Dallas library. Join me Thursday at 1pm at downtown
@ArlingtonTXLib
It’s
@Rangers
Summer reading program last appearance of 2022
I give thanks for the great ones I’ve seen,
The bad ones and the guys in between.
I can’t believe Beltre
Won’t make one more great play.
He has spoiled us since he was a teen.

-ERIC! coming soon to Amazon. The e-book is now on sale.
Thanks Adrian!
Tonight’s 8th inning limerick:
We’re sorry we won’t see The Freak
They say that his velo was weak.
Here’s hoping he signs
With a new team and finds
He’s not totally up the creek.
His dazzling plays come every game.
They’re breathtaking, never the same.
With each Gold Glove miracle
The proof is empirical
He’s headed for the Hall of Fame.
I forgot that this day is for mother I don’t have one , not even a brother But regardless of day what I would like to say is Let’s all just take care of each other
#HappyMothersDay2018
The series is Dodgers and Sox,
Like matching up two blue chip stocks.
Our fans will be seein’
Both Moreland and Ian.
It’s all quite a blessing for FOX.

-ERIC coming to Amazon in…
Yes this is my actual bday
So I hope you will give me some leeway
Both Brandon and Broke
Will be in on the joke
When the tray of shots is split up three way.
Tonight’s 8th inning limerick:
A hitter’s worst nightmare was Dennis
To batters Eck was quite a menace.
He closed and he started.
His pitches just darted
Like Federer’s aces in tennis.
Tonight’s preview limerick:
Its IKF and Bibens-Dirkx
We’ll see if this battery works.
They both have shown flashes
And both names have dashes.
That’s one of their lovable quirks.
Tonight’s 8th inning limerick:
“You can’t predict baseball”’s our motto.
The proof here: Ariel Jurado.
He outpitched an all star.
(Though George hit the ball far)
I say this in truth not bravado.
The World Cup belongs now to France.
The whole country's doing a dance.
No more midfielders flopping,
Champagne corks are popping.
I hope no one's wetting their pants.
