@plsitsnotme Your salary goes up by £15k and you pay £6.6k extra in tax, a marginal rate on that extra income of 44%, which is just below the top rate of tax, yes. £65k is a good salary, and £46,750 take-home (effective rate 22%) is also good. I fail to see what is unreasonable here?

@lethal_heroine If you are the one-timer in this situation and you are *aware* of the other person's hope and don't correct it then yes you're kinda shitty, but if the other person consents to the sex then there is sex. Sex is not a transaction in exchange for a future relationship.

@EllieCumbo @s8mb Ben can vent his anger however he likes, although I don't think it's helpful. But transphobia dressed up in a veneer of civility and rationality from a rich white woman is still transphobia, and is arguably more insidious and dangerous. Certainly more harmful than a sweary rant.

Black student is generally not entitled to legacy admission because ancestors were not admitted, because they were not allowed to be due to racist laws. That's the point.

An LLP does not make corporate profits per se - all the profifs go to the partners, think of it like their salary, which they then pay income tax on. So none of the net money earned is untaxed (assuming private income tax is paid).

Not to mention how much ignoring the experts has weakened the NHS, from the warning about lack of PPE in the 2016 Cygnus report, to pursuing Brexit when every medical body said it would hurt the NHS. Now England has the highest excess death rate in Europe, with a #2ndWave coming.
