was at a cafe when something in my chai latte possessed me to make a
@figma
-themed resume for fun (with only occasional confusion from designing this in Figma)!
p.s. i'm graduating next month and seeking any new grad/internship opportunities in product/ux design :)
things i seem to keep telling people:
- invest in your relationships (platonic, romantic, professional, familial)
- get good at noticing what you like/dislike -> double down on the likes
- optimize for serendipity (say yes to that random event where you donโt know anyone)
new year, new (resu)me.
made this for my dream company
@Twitch
as i'd absolutely love the chance to intern there this summer. had lots of fun making it and highly appreciate any feedback ๐

everytime i come back home i feel a vibe shift from 22 to 18 instantly. most places i go won't remember me, but these four walls of my childhood bedroom do. they've watched me transform and grow, they've watched me leave. the memories seep through layers of re-painted concrete
bittersweet times of post-grad life is when suddenly you go from experiencing life with your friends everyday, to filling them in on the details of your lore over the last XYZ months since you saw each other last
from doing life together, to sharing about your time apart

i ran a 3 hour visual design accelerator where 12 participants iterated on a design they created, received real-time feedback from mentors, and demo'ed their design decisions. from conceptualization to execution it was one of the most fulfilling events i've ever hosted, a๐งต:
this is the first time ive felt real heartache and genuine sadness over an internship ending and it has taught me the people really do make all the difference
unironically, "we'll cross that bridge when we get there" has been a really reassuring statement in my life (ignoring corporate connotations). as someone who stresses planning every detail and is unlearning perfectionism, it is a much needed reminder to let go

overflowing with love for last nightโs symposium
@socraticainfo
, for these people who put so much love, care, and craft into what they do, and they do so without expecting anything in return. they will change the world. yโall killed it again <3
optimizing for silliness w/ the girlies <3
step 1: send out cute little dinner invites
step 2: gather the girlies, ask everyone what sanrio character they are
step 3: take 'candid' 0.5x of everyone
step 4: make silly little graphics
today, 25 projects were demoed at the atelier showcase: a celebration of all the ideas and passion projects that were brought to life this fall at ubc.
this was a space where people felt safe to be vulnerable. to share their failures, laugh with and learn from others.

taking a short twitter break โ๏ธ
i've been thinking a lot about focus recently. untangled much of my thoughts here, a bit of a longer read than my usual writing so i appreciate any thoughts! enjoy and i'll be back soon ๐ซถ
hey! back from my break and this is happening again :) on may 15, i'll be teaching the basics of visual design through a hands-on project alongside some lovely mentors including

is there any personal crm tool where you can visualize your relationships w people spatially like a solar system? iโm imagining something that is active and easy to update (people can get shifted between rings, etc.), and if you zoom in/click a node you get more info
also - this was only possible thanks to all the people in my life who taught me that if you want to, you can just make. things. happen. so thank you to everyone who believed in my vision and helped bring it to life. these messages have my heart ๐ฅน๐

shoutout to the ppl who hyped me up to post this ๐ซถ๐ซถ also we don't gatekeep so also shoutout Figma's official design system community file for helping me make this. isn't it so beautiful
sometimes i wonder if its too cheesy or even pretentious to gush over how inspired i am or how warm i feel from the communities ive been involved with recently, but then im reminded if i can even impact one person then it is worth it. that yeah, this stuff is my lifeline i think
you ever just want to freeze time and live in a moment forever? this summer so far has so many of those moments for me; im gripping desperately to these memories for i dont know how long they will last but knowing theyโre finite also makes them that much more special
i hope your days are lighter from here on out. i hope they're peppered with more sunsets, belly laughter that echoes down the hall, spontaneous road trips, the awe of learning something new. i hope whatever ails you melts into peace. happy new year ๐ซถ
as an introvert who has lived most of my life priding myself on independence, i am only now beginning to realize that actually perhaps i do love being around people very much and in fact need people to flourish
hi twitter (X??) iโve been kinda mia this past half year but in my defense i highkey fell in love w asia !!!!! wanted to briefly recap what iโve been up to (6 countries over 6 months), a ๐งต:
๐๐ฐ๐ท -> ๐ฏ๐ต -> ๐ธ๐ฌ -> ๐ง๐ณ->๐ฒ๐พ -> ๐ฆ๐บ
flew from vancouver for this and it was so so special. if youโre in loo donโt sleep on socratica

hacker culture is so back
yesterday, 450 ppl registered to see 25+ incredible demos, ranging from alternative proteins to self balancing robots to songwriting
highlight of the

studio tour today was when someone proposed to the crowd during a q&a โitโs hard to ask for help, so if anyone here has something they would like help with, use this time to askโ which i think created a really special network effect that left meโฆ
thinking about what it means for me to have a sense of permanence, what it would take, the compounding benefits of doing something for a long time. i love quick experimentation but i also crave sustainability. i want to take my time, i want to take my time, i want
so beautiful to see how a friendship unfolds between two people, and all the seemingly coincidental moments that needed to align in order for the pieces of their adventures to happen.

biggest green signals for me are when people remember
remember the lil story you told them last sunday or an upcoming event
to follow up on if you got home safe or not!
or to check in on how youโre doing when you havenโt talked in a while
remembering is such an act of respect
impromptu portfolio redesign fuelled by my desires to scrapbook again :^) been wanting my site to better reflect how i live, work, and play โ and iโm super happy with how it turned out!

i love intro-ing myself to people online by telling them with full transparency i have already stalked their entire website or whatever other *public* profile/media they have - atleast when i get this its flattering! you're showing the other person you care
during midterms i swore i wouldnt put myself in a situation where id have to write 3 essays in under 24 hours ever again. yet here i am with 3/6 due tonight and guess who started yesterday ๐คก

demo culture is so back! flew to vancouver last week to watch these demos & gave a little speech on the microdecisions that can change your life trajectory, at a showcase event from the community that changed my own life <3
join their sunday sessions if youโre in van :))
when you attach your identity to certain labels or titles, deviating from it can feel disorienting.
but priorities change! they can change so fast, and it's okay to accept you no longer care for something the way you once did.
from a new writing piece:
it turns out the thing i rationally knew would combat my overthinking (aka, just getting started) actually did. crazy how taking action works like that huh
i think everyone should take a sociology course at least once in their lives. soc gets smack sometimes for being a โsoft scienceโ but is actually so important for understanding people and the world around you, for liberating yourself of black and white perspectives
reading my old writings and always pleasantly surprised by how much i still resonate with my words and feelings from back then. which seems very obvious since they're my experiences after all but for some reason it is shocking ๐คจ๐คจ
@floguo
following up on something they mentioned/suggested, asking questions, handwritten cards & handcrafted gifts (also, making little videos for them), small situational gifts i.e. sending flowers for a new job, uber eats-ing bubble tea to their door when they're sad/stressed
still a few spots left at !! go from 0-1 in your visual design skills with others ๐ซถ
i like to cater my events to the makeup of its attendees so would love to hear from you personally about your bg and interest in learning design too - dms are open :)โฆ

didnโt realize i hadnโt taken a proper vacation in years until i spent this past week travelling and barely touching my laptop. the recharge i felt from 3 day weekend trips is nothing compared to how i feel now
