open invite to anyone in toronto who wants to come over for a co-working session :)
would love to read, work on side projects, arts and crafts, learn from each other, etc.

here's my top 10 toronto restaurants/cafes to check out that nobody asked for;
1. raku - japanese udon (as well as the best udon in toronto), my favourite restaurant in the queen west area!

i've been tracking my mood everyday for the last 4 years - here are my results from 2023. (1) being an awful day, and (5) being an amazing one.
want to work on something more interactive/with permanence using this data sometime in the future.
ichi-go ichi-e (一期一会) is a japanese idiom that is roughly translated as “for this time only,” “never again,” or “one chance in a lifetime.”.
life is always happening around us whether you're enjoying it or not, try to cherish where you are and appreciate this moment in time.
i took 2023 off to do nothing besides pursue my interests and explore how to bring people together.
i'll admit that at several points throughout the year i was really doubting myself and felt anxious about whether or not the time i was taking off was worth it.
in the spirit of hosting and creating meaning experiences, i hosted a comfy demo night for my friends today!
celebrating the people in your life and providing them the opportunity to inspire and energize you is priceless - i think these kinds of events enable that to happen.
i don't really remember what age i started playing piano, i just know i didn't particularly enjoy it growing up because it felt like a chore.
a breakthrough happened when i realized i could just apply theory to make up melodies or improv with friends. this made music fun.
a pharrell quote that i think about a lot goes along the lines of "if you want to be faster, you have to run with a bunch of people who are way faster than you".
being surrounded by others that are absolute killers at what they do (paired with conviction), will change your life.
I cannot understate how important it is to surround yourself with people that are high energy, excellent at what they do, and genuinely want to see you win. Impossible not to level up when you’re constantly learning, feeding off each other and having fun in the process.
nobody asked again but i thought i'd update this with some new stuff;
1. birria catrina - the best birria tacos you'll ever have in your life. just go to the location in roncy and you'll understand.
2. fuji lamb house - probably my favourite skewer place in the gta.

had the major honor of being one of the designers for the
@socraticainfo
w'24 symposium
from making wristbands, booth cards, lanyards, to 3D-ifying the mascots, seeing it all come together with the other designers' work that night was amazing

hoping that in 2024, i can:
- find values+career alignment
- work hard on my passion projects
- read and write more
- host more fun and meaningful experiences for others
- create and share more
- befriend more of my role models
i started climbing around a year ago and it quickly became a core component of my life.
strength training, intentional movement/mobility, being dynamic, community and relationships, etc. it filled a lot of buckets for me and definitely changed my trajectory for the better.
i made some friends that now come over weekly and we just play our little instruments and sing little songs together and i cannot express how cathartic the experience is
week 3 of 75 hard
something i learned very early on in this program was that by participating in challenges and/or experiments, you can rewire your entire identity and change the understanding or perception you may have of yourself.
week 2 of 75 hard
i’ve had to restructure my entire life to meet the daily goals, but this restructuring has allowed me to prioritize self-care and also feel the healthiest/strongest i’ve ever felt.
having a lot of fun doing things that i once thought were too far out of reach.
I'm proud to share, tomorrow afternoon, right after I hit the barber, we will launch the first iteration of New Transport, departing to The Socratica Symposium in waterloo, everything is on schedule, and we have effectively and safely doubled its capacity for launch 1.
"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment."
toronto is the best city in the world to cook
intense iteration in humility, continuously pushing the taste and quality bar to the limit
if you’re reading this it’s too late. we already won
been trying to think about what to say or write to reflect on the last week, but if i'm being honest, the only thing that comes to mind is thank you for everything.
Today,
@tommytrxnh

@jeffstaple
12 years ago, was just starting out, felt crazy to fly to NYC and bring this footage back to toronto, felt like we were changing the game or something, felt so ahead, still the best vid about Jeff imo, it still holds up
it's kind of crazy to see how momentum can propel you from one era in life to another. through a series of such unpredictable (and almost laughable) events, i feel like i've been enabled to be a completely different person these last few months.
alright, both ends of toronto now have spaces, here we go

one of the kindest souls you could ever meet,
@floguo
radiates gratitude and love.
i have so much to learn from her, and i'm grateful to have any of her time.
on meaning-making & creating happiness: making things out in the world, spending time with souls who continually inspire you to be better, stepping up to do things when no one asked
so much to learn, so much to grow
isn’t that beautiful?

had dinner with
@hussamfyi
tonight in roncy, so much respect for him. we landed on a key insight tonight that as obvious as it may sound, “community is about having relationships that encourage you to be your best self, by doing things beyond yourself”.
grabbed coffee with
@steven_yuen
today on baldwin, shared some blue sky goals for both ourselves personally and also community stuff in toronto. super grateful to have met him.
