I’m getting cooked in the QT’s and I’m here for it 🤣.
Eyes now opened to a new perspective on English outside of North America/England.
Ironic that I’ve become so sloppy in my own speak that AI’s overuse of elegant words is now suss.
Thank you Nigerian Twitter ❤️🙏🏾

Listen to her episode of Desert Island Disks. Hearing the story in her voice with a mix of stoicism, sadness and quiet rage is unforgettable
@NicKeaney
My (almost) 13 year old quite rightly told his teacher last year:
‘We start school at 8:15 and finish at 4:10. If there’s extra work to do at home, you’re not managing our time effectively.’
As someone who hates homework as a student and hates it even more as a parent, I told…

I had a friend who did the same. He always made it…until the one time he didn’t. He was 21 and died after spending a week in a coma. So sad.

You’re all right. It was “Karen Two-Two”.
Kristy never saw her dad and lived with her mom and Watson.
Dawns dad was in Cali.
Stacey’s dad was in NYC and her mom in Stoneybrook.
Now ask me what I had for dinner and I’m all IDK 🤷🏾♀️
@oluadedej
🤣🤣🤣. I replied to PG in jest and got free tuition from Nigerian Twitter.
Excellent lessons learned AND I’ve added a plethora of new words to my vocab. Winning 💪
@TaiwoAmodu5
Not at all. It’s genuinely been eye opening. In fact, I referenced this tweet and what it’s taught me about my biases today during a LinkedIn audio room about the risks and opportunities of AI.
@awlilnatty
It’s cute. There’s a double entendres on the double entendres (is that a thing?) which is the fact that a lot of this stuff is bought and sold on local Facebook marketplaces. So it literally is second best 😉☺️

I’m getting cooked in the QT’s and I’m here for it 🤣. This has opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on how English is taught and used outside of North America/England.

@iHad2GoGetit
I used to have to do this with my oldest - backed by The Nat King Cole Story as soundtrack. Starting with ‘Straighten up and fly right,’ if I was lucky I’d be fine by ‘Paper Moon’ and if unlucky I was jiggling until ‘Nature Boy’ or ‘Calypso Blues.’ 😂
@OgLakyn
Give ‘em pockets, make ‘em long so suitable for winter layering and/or convertible (ie skirt to dress, shirt skirt to long skirt, etc) and I think we could be game. Otherwise, skirts aren’t that practical outside of summer.
@TheAishetu
I didn’t take offense. As I was reading some of the QT’s the larger point started to make sense - it’s crystal clear now.
One of the reasons I still
love Twitter is the opportunity for open discussion and directness made even better with humour.

Angelica’s mom was literal GOALS. Highlight of my professional career was the moment I realised ‘I’d made it.’ I.e I could bark my opinions and solve problems while on the move 😂

Right?! This is my biggest frustration with the entire education system - state and private.
Teachers are LITERAL experts in education, yet you’re not able to implement a pedagogical approach that helps you do what you do best.
Then you’re judged/gaslit/overworked because it…

He really is. I laugh a lot because 9/10 his logic is spot on 🤷🏾♀️.
I also spend far too much time in meetings with his head of form 🙄.
The fact that her name is Karen is the icing on the cake 🫢🙃
@lucyallan
Oh just shut up. You’re baiting people on purpose and taxpayers are footing the bill.
Surely you have something more worthwhile to do than act as a professional troll.
And if you get ‘Musk Bucks’ for engagement I will actually lose my mind
@UchePOkoye
I thought something was wrong with me until I understood what was going on.
Interestingly, I think this is why I sometimes “forget” my grandparents have passed.
Like, in my mind, they’re still here so I don’t experience “grief.”

Same. A couple years before, another friend went cliff jumping in Havasu and broke her back. She was in hospital for a month and was damn near paralysed.
@Into_the_Never
I get it. Now I know what I know, the subsequent gatekeeping concerns me.
There are plenty of folks on this app that jokingly criticise ChatGPT outputs. The words I mentioned are some of the ones they’re talking about.
I’ve also seen several posts in marketing groups on FB, for…

I’m telling you - my linguistic glow up is going to be legendary.
I’ve been bookmarking these replies and adding all this new vocab to my word bank.
When I start emailing people tomorrow talking slick, they gonna be like, who dis?! 🤣
@businessbarista
Me! I bring an interesting perspective as I work to accelerate SMBs. In a world chasing VC, we don’t shine a light on the successful and fledgling bootstrappers.
Unpopular opinion: we can inspire women to explore web3 without infantilising them. The ‘girlbossificiation’/‘crypto but make it pink’ I’m seeing in my TL is not a vibe 🤦🏾♀️
I never thought I'd be an entrepreneur. Now I can't imagine doing anything else.
And last week, I was included in
@TheStartupsMag
‘22 Most Influential Women of 2022’ list. Those are words I NEVER thought would be said about ME.
The lesson? Your only limit is your imagination.
Media literacy, unconscious bias and a growth mindset.
If you want to use AI-powered tools to qualify, assess and create for business, you must pay attention to the blindspots baked into the machines - and your own mind.
What business skills will remain vital in the AI era?
(Saying “empathy” is too broad and generic)
l will be specific:
-leadership
-public speaking
-the art of influence
-community stewardship

Took our pre-flight tests to go back to the UK and BOTH kids are positive 😷😷.
Luckily we’re staying with family and I have another two weeks off work.
All the vaccinated adults are negative.
Wish us luck 😭

I bloomin’ did it 😆. Thanks

for inviting me to add my idea to the long list of others worth sharing.
It was hard AF. I almost quit.
Inspiration is an act of resistance - against your own self limiting beliefs 💪🏾
the reason clothes looked & performed better in the 60’s & early 70’s is because they were being made in more reasonable quantities by union workers who were being paid a livable wage to construct them to human proportions & not slaves who were abused to meet production deadlines
@jewstein3000
When I did yoga regularly, a lot of us in the class came into it post-baby, meaning we were already super ‘supple.’ The number of injuries over the years, especially in those that were already a bit bendy, was like Final Destination. All of us waiting for our turn 😩
@Sistasomebody
Working in PR, I was taught to write as I would speak.
AI is more formulaic which is why I noticed a consistent pattern of words that I *personally* wouldn’t use when speaking.

What bothers me most is that it’s the version of ‘woman empowerment’ that is unapologetically privileged and white. Like lularoe but for crypto.

It never does. Happiness IS success but the inverse isn’t always true.
Understanding the “demons” and mental “frenemies” that drive my ego/ambition and then re-training my brain with that knowledge has helped me significantly over the last few months.

Last week I tried something out of the ordinary. Instead of staying up and ultimately starting work at midnight/1am, I went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 3am to work. I felt way better than I do the other way around.
@CateSevilla
Nothing will take away the impact you all made. One of the reasons why The Pool stood out was the willingness to have conversations that no one else would. Be proud of what you’ve achieved and know you have impacted the UK media landscape positively. You did good.
@coldhealing
This is one of the reasons I ended up starting a business.
I had one kid who was in preschool 5-days a week.
I used to spend 3-4 hours at the gym A DAY (even walked there 1-hour round trip), alongside mind-numbing tasks and life admin and I was bored AF.

Not at all. I appreciate directness - especially when delivered with a sense of humour and some of the QTs were 💀.
And next time folks in my circle make jokes about “AI words”, I shall make Nigerian Twitter proud 🫡😆❤️

It's very sweet. My sister and I have spent many an hour watching football with our dad ❤️.
And I gotta ask, without shade, was it inspired by the cute TikTok updates Sharon Mbabazi was posting about her dad, TS and TC?
The similarity is definitely there...

He’s learning how to study on his own now.
That’s how I explain the point of homework: practice for doing stuff you don’t want to do without sacrificing the output 😉
I don’t get this trend of subscription boxes for women in business 🤔. Why do I need a monthly affirmation and book mailed to me to help my biz grow? And why don’t men? And the environmental impact?? So many questions…

Making pockets of time throughout the day to take a breather from the rat race has done me good.
