My father was killed by a drunk driver 37 years ago today. I was a week shy of my 4th birthday. My older sister was nearly 6, my younger sister just 6 weeks old. The pain this has caused us is immeasurable. Please, please, please don’t drink and drive.

Today my son and I ran an 800m. We agreed that with 200 to go, we’d race. We hit 200 and he took off so fast. But with 50 to go he slowed and I chuckled and thought “still got it”. I went to pass and he yelled, “time for turbo!” and he kicked away. Meanwhile, I’m sore tonight. 😖

Colt has decided to run middle school XC. We did little runs every 3 days over the past week to help him feel a tad more confident at the first day of practice. The first 3 runs were 1 mile, today 1.5. Will he be ready to rock? No, but he’s 11!! Plenty of time to grow into it.❤️

Over the last two days I have been moved by the essential workers- the nurses and hospice workers who cared for my grandfather. They were gentle, caring, and completely selfless helping him as he was dying with covid. You are the true heroes in all of this. We see you, thank you.
