Soon, Mine-imator creations will never be the same... 2.0 Pre-release 5 drops *this Friday* with a new interface, and new rendering and animation features! 👀
2.0 Pre-release 5 is out now, featuring a new interface, rendering overhaul, and more! 👀
Note: These features have been in development for 2.5+ years so expect plenty of bugs. 🐛
We are happy to announce that next week, May 30th, you will be able to download the first pre-release of Mine-imator 2.0! 🎥🎥
As a thanks for your patience, here are three more features found in Pre-release 1:
1/3: First off, a handy Drag-n-drop mode to quickly build your scene!
[Feature 3/7] Plenty of 'quality of life' changes! To name a couple coming to Mine-imator 2.0.1...
(1/3) The workbench will now auto-fill settings in a model or block to better match your search! 🪄
FEATURE 4/7: Mine-imator will soon be able to handle much more complex projects with a speedup between 3-5 times compared to earlier versions when rendering many objects. Go crazy and add more characters, blocks, particles and detailed models/rigs to your animation!
3/3: Finally, scenery imported in Mine-imator 2.0 will be linked to your Minecraft world (given that the world stays on the same disk), so changes in-game will be applied to Mine-imator instantly by clicking "Reload".
Mine-imator 2.0 Pre-release 2 is here with almost 50 squashed bugs and a couple of new settings!
🐛🐛🐛 🔨😀
Note: Pre-release 3 will focus on performance issues and additional platform support
FEATURE 2/7: Multi-monitor animators will dig this one, no more crammed workspaces, simply detach your timeline or camera view into a second window and drag it to another screen! (See example in replies 👇)
FEATURE 2/7: A quality of life change, projects now have their own render/graphics settings, and they can be exported and easily shared! Of course, you can set 'default' settings to be shared across projects.
FEATURE 1/7: Originally introduced in Modelbench, the 'Inventory' interface will be making its way into Mine-imator 2.0, along with its Quality-of-Life improvements!
To celebrate our 10 year anniversary on the 20th, we'll reveal 7 of the biggest features coming in 2.0 Pre-release 5 one by one, so be sure to hit the follow button! 👀
FEATURE 3/7: In the next version scenery loading will be up to 10 times faster and optimized to take up less memory, allowing much bigger regions than before! In addition, the scenery is cached and instantly loaded upon re-opening your project (with no loading bar).
FEATURE 6/7: You may have guessed this one: Mac OS users will also be able to use Mine-imator in the future, starting with the upcoming 2.0 pre-release!
We announced previously that Pre-release 5 would release in September. However, our developers are currently busy with personal matters and we'll be delaying it until November. Thank you for your patience. 🧑💻
In the spirit of the holidays, we're showcasing two improvements coming to lighting in Pre-release 6 coming early next year. (Among bug fixes and performance improvements.)🎁👀
[1/2] Take better control of lighting with the new HDR support! This only affects objects in the scene and not things such as fog, sky color, and clouds. Tone mapping, exposure, and gamma will available in render settings and in camera timelines. 💡
FEATURE 5/7: Linux users have been left out of using Mine-imator for 10 years, but no more! Version 2.0 will run smoothly on Debian/Ubuntu operating systems with all the same features!
(P.S. If you have another favorite Linux distribution let us know)
2.0.0 "The Anniversary Update" (2022): The biggest update to date with a new engine, new rendering effects, new animation features, and a new interface!
In the spirit of the tenth anniversary of Mine-imator, the original creator, David (
@stuffbydavidn
) has returned briefly to add some features requested countless times during the last decade. This week we will reveal 7 of them one by one so be sure to hit that Follow button! 🤜👍
[2/2] With HDR support, subsurface scattering will see massive improvements! Light will now spread smoother and further with brighter lights. A 'highlight' effect was also added to brighten areas that are placed in front of lights. 🍃
While we're working hard to fix bugs and performance for Pre-release 6, our beta testers have prepared a quick tutorial on the recent changes in Pre-release 5. 😎
Note: These additions will be available in an upcoming 2.0.0 pre-release built upon the current version (will later be merged with Nimi’s additions) so keep an eye out!👀
FEATURE 1/7: Starting off small yet useful, an actually working Cancel option when clicking the program’s X!
