I made a little app for all the Notch haters out there, Forehead!
It allows you to make the menu bar on your new MacBook Pro completely black, so you’ll never have to get annoyed at all those extra pixels ever again!

PS. I like the Notch 🤫
Posture Pal is available for macOS Sonoma today! Improve your work posture by wearing your AirPods.
While you're working, Rafi and friends are keeping an eye on your posture by using the motion sensors in your AirPods. When you start slouching, they will appear from the bottom…
Update on Navi, my new
#SharePlay
app which adds subtitles and realtime translation to your FaceTime calls coming later this year. Super excited about the experience so far.

After a little break, Navi is back!
Built from the ground up for Apple Vision Pro, Navi adds captions and live translation to the real world.
If you're getting Apple Vision Pro tomorrow, please give it a try and let me know what you think!
Posture Pal helps you improve you posture with your AirPods 🎧
It tracks your neck tilt and alerts you when a bad posture is detected, even in the background.

All proceeds this week will go to families who had to flee Ukraine 🇺🇦
Navi adds subtitles and live translation to your FaceTime calls through Shareplay!
I asked some of my friends to help me show you how it works!
It’s available for free, so give it a try and let me know what you think! 👇
Incredibly grateful for all the amazing experiences I’ve had this year.
But being a finalist for the 2022 Apple Design Awards is on another level, wow!
🥲🤩
Good luck to the other finalists!

DTs appreciated!
Over the past two years I've released more than 20 apps and projects. 10 have been featured on the App Store, one was nominated for an Apple Design award and one was App of the Month in China.
I made all of these apps with my 2-2-2 method, and today I'm launching a course! 1/4
Splitscreen is releasing tomorrow! Share more than one Mac display to your Apple Vision Pro and even share your Mac if you use different Apple IDs between both devices!
Pre order now and let us know what you think!
The Swift Charts Examples repo is already at 317 stars! ⭐️
Did not expect it to take off like this, but I’m super happy to see all the contributions from people all across the community!
We already have 17 customisable chart types, and would love more!
Anyone want to help with an open source project to recreate all the charts from this Swift Charts session? Would be great to have an easy resource for inspiration and play!
Having Posture Pal on my Mac to gently remind me of bad posture by just wearing my AirPods is such a nice experience.
Much more useful and effective than on my phone. Coming September 26th, join the beta here:
If you’re thinking of learning iOS development, you only need SwiftUI. Don’t waste your time on UIKit anymore.
If you ever need it, just browse some examples or find an alternative that works in SwiftUI.

🎙️ MacWhisper is available now! Use OpenAI's Whisper on your Mac without having to install anything else.

This release adds a second macOS display to your Apple Vision Pro!
Use it for multitasking or if you want to connect your Mac and Vision Pro across different Apple IDs!
It's my birthday today, and to celebrate I'm making all my apps... paid! 🥳 Today all my apps are 4 euros instead of free.
If you enjoy my work and want to give me a birthday gift, you can buy it today. Or... wait until tomorrow when they're free again!
Big Good Snooze news today, I hired my first employee, my sister! Merel is going to help out with support and will make sure people can get the most out of my apps.
I love the freedom and possibilities that have come on my path over the last few years of being indie 🥰
Persona Studio is on its way to Apple. View and record your Persona straight from Vision Pro. You can change the camera angle, and some more stuff is planned. Great timing with the new improvements in 1.1 (this was recorded on 1.0)
Google Domains was great because it was clean and simple and didn't try to upsell you on stuff. People are recommending Namecheap, but just look at their landing compared to Google's...
Normally I launch new apps on iOS release day, but I just removed Navi from sale since it no longer works on iOS 16 due to technical changes on iOS.
However Navi was an amazing journey culminating in an Apple Design Award nomination and I learned a lot for future projects!
🥲
@stroughtonsmith
I picked up a side project I started from when my ex girlfriend had food allergies. It quickly scans ingredient listings for allergies. Have been fortunate to already have over 200 testers in the beta 🙏 Oh, and it’s 95% SwiftUI! TestFlight sign up here
Nice week ahead for MacWhisper. Batch transcription going live this week, and then two of the most requested features in the next (podcast transcription with multiple speakers) and system audio recording!
MacWhisper 2.0 is out now!
- Dramatically reduced app size (99.99% smaller)
- Download models afterwards
- Lots of design love
- Auto Updater
- Vote for your favourite features on the roadmap
- Compact mode
- And 20 other small tweaks!
Free update from
The Bezel team (
@mac_cain13
@tomlokhorst
) and I wanted to use more than one Mac display on Vision Pro.
So we made an app that does just that🖥️
Work in progress, but sign up for testflight here:
Six days ago in Italy I had an idea for an app that would help me pick out dishes in a restaurant.
🖼 Cibo is out now on the App Store!
Point your phone at a menu and select the dish you want to see photos of. No more typing into Google Image Search!
@maartenpodcast
Fake news. Bewust een extra stop op de IJtunnel gezet. In de werkelijkheid is het maar 20 minuten en het is een proef om uit te zoeken hoe we in de toekomst met auto’s in de stad om moeten gaan.
@sindresorhus
Fucking hell. Just when I started moving all my domains there. How can they keep doing this? Also, how come I need to find out about this through Twitter 🫠🫠
I want to get better at (app) marketing, so I’m not opening Xcode for a week later this month to focus on marketing!
Let’s form a small group of indie devs to learn this together. We’ll share goals, do daily standups, share our progress and help each other out. Who’s in? ✋
Here's a better comparison of how much Personas improved between visionOS 1.0 and 1.1.
Recordings made with my app Persona Studio which is working its way through App Review right now. Here's the TestFlight:
I'm about to open up the test group for Push Up Pal. A simple app that helps you do more push ups by using the motion sensors in your AirPods. It's very basic and very much work in progress right now.
Leave your email here, thanks!
I’m getting the Indie Friday website ready again for this years Black Friday. If you plan to have any discounts for your apps fill in the form and I’ll add them 👍
MacGPT is coming to iOS soon* under the name GeePeeTee. Realtime voice chat, conversation history and more 🙂
Will send the TestFlight to some of the biggest donations of MacGPT 🥰
*An early version is already available which requires your own API key
Did not expect the Vision Pro to keep track of the locations you've used it at! It will automatically keep track of the world map for home / office locations so that anchors will be placed on their original positions 🤩
MacWhisper 3.0 with a new 'full transcript' view mode, and some other improvements is available now. Ventura and up because the test device is now on Sonoma.
Fast, full featured, secure transcription in a nice design, try it out for free!
This weekend I built 🌟 Superstar!
Superstar makes it super easy to reply to all your apps’ reviews, with template replies and a menu bar app that shows you a new un-answered review every time you open it.
Get a reminder when it launches later this week:
Let’s try this again.. 😅
I’m launching one more thing in 2021 and that’s...
🙌Supporter
A native, good looking, localised and simple to use Support section you can add to your app in under 30 seconds.
In similar fashion to the Swift Chart Examples repo I started after WWDC I’ve now also created a repo for…
🏝 Dynamic Islands
Let’s start by recreating Apple’s examples and learning how it all works! I started with the phone app!
The pre-WWDC drinks will be back on Sunday the 4th of June in downtown San Jose 😃 come and meet some new friends while we speculate about what will be announced the next day! Will share location info closer to WWDC.
Posture Pal is available on TestFlight now! Improve your posture by wearing your AirPods*! See it in action below!
Testflight 👇
* Requires AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro or AirPods Max

How to go (partly) indie before 2022
The video recording as well as the slides for my talk at SwiftLeeds last week are now available. If you were at the conference (or if you weren’t), use the code ‘swiftleeds’ to download the video and slides for free.

Now that TipKit is available I've started a TipKit Examples repo to provide sample code and best practices. It's similar to the one I made for Swift Charts and the Dynamic Island last year.
Still a bit buggy at times, but feel free to add any issues!
I started building Unmute at 9PM on Saturday. It’s on the store now (probably still propagating)
Give it a try if you want to let your phone talk for you on phone calls.
I keep forgetting that my battery is about to run out, so I made a more prominent battery charge reminder. Not sure if other people have the same problem, but if so, give 🪫 Depleted a try:
Persona Studio is now available, view and record your Persona on your Vision Pro 📸
Shaky cam footage here to show what it looks like, clean export footage in the app preview 😉
My wishes for WWDC
- On device Translate API
- Reviews API endpoint for ASC
- SwiftUICoreData thing so I don’t have to learn CoreData
- Speed improvements for Vision API
- Native BottomSheet in SwiftUI
- Fun new APIs
I think we’ll get 5 out of 6 🙏
I made a little app that wraps ttcutil so you can more easily reset permissions for your macOS apps during development. Only supports Microphone and Screen Capture permissions right now, but I'll be adding the others soon. Feel free to contribute.
Last weekend I gave the opening keynote at this years Let's visionOS conference in Beijing China to 700 people. My goal was to inspire people to create small, focused, experimental apps for the Apple Vision Pro. I believe this is the best way to get comfortable with this new…
