I can attest to this. My mother arrived post Uni at Lagos airport 1968 and was refused entry because she’s v fair and “looked Igbo” - her Uncle, Prince Adebobajo Adesida (Lagos police commissioner) had to attest to her ethnicity and only then was she allowed in. Dangerous waters.
