If I had to choose again I would use Firebase over CloudKit. Not being able to sell your app, platform lock-in, slow and uncontrolled syncing behavior and weird bugs are reasons why I'm still considering switching.

Did your (developer) Apple ID get blocked? You likely provided it to a service scraping App Store Connect (or another Apple service). Apple changed its auth logic, causing (automatic) auth mechanisms to fail, and blocking accounts. Be careful where you leave your credentials.

I just sold my Mercedes-Benz RV. Bought it for €7k, drove more than 50k km (it now has 770k km on it 🤯) and lived in it for ~1.5yr while traveling through Europe and Morocco. Sold it for €20k. Hands down the best vehicle I’ve ever had. Germans know how to build stuff.

Unpopular opinion: design is often overrated. While comparing time tracking apps, I found that most popular apps have a very simple (and ugly) user interface, while most great-looking apps don’t seem to get traction. Don't overthink design. Overthink marketing instead.

Giving DTS another shot to resolve the issue of NSPersistentCloudKitContainer taking too much time to (initially) import data. I just cannot believe this technology isn’t suitable for my needs. @dailytimeapp ’s (data) characteristics (scheme, records, size) aren’t rocket science.

I had many people offering 3x annual revenue for @dailytimeapp . It simply didn’t make sense: I could wait 3 years, see the business grow and still have the business. So what would work for me? At least 5x. Why? Because it would start to become life changing. That’s my criteria.

Selling prices for bootstrapped businesses are absolutely delusional 4x annual profit only starts making sense if you DESPERATELY need to get rid of your company, I don't know happy founders around me who'd sell for that That means the bootstrapped selling market isn't logical

I might be weird and different, but honestly don’t think this is something you can be proud of. Life is more than sitting behind your desk all day and trying to make money. What do you want to see when reflecting on life when you’re old? For me, it’s not MRR or hours worked…

Back from a hectic offline period and a long holiday in the Nordics, and we got ourselves a nice souvenir 🙈. We’ll emigrate to Sweden somewhere in the upcoming months. Looking forward to combining physical projects in nature during summer and digital projects in winter 🥰.

#Growth tip: find users on Twitter asking for a product related to yours, and recommend your product. I'm using the following filter: "?" AND ("time tracking" OR "time tracker") -filter:links -filter:retweets -filter:replies Trying to run it every day 👍.

Great seeing much more pricing flexibility on the @AppStore . Finally, I can price @dailytimeapp ’s lifetime license 59,99 in both € and $. Before, it was either $49.99/€59,99, or $59.99/€69.99. It felt like I was either leaving money on the table or screwing EU users.

@GergelyOrosz The entire tech industry relies way too much on investments. Unhealthy businesses are artificially kept alive. Even worse: they often make it hard for bootstrapped businesses to do their thing in a healthy way as they outprice them in an unsustainable way.

Got this email from a customer, who’s using Daily across his organization (a payment processing SaaS). They even built custom tooling on top of Daily to process tracked hours. 555,659 hours is absolutely wild. That’s almost 70,000 working days 🤯.

Sales #growth of @dailytimeapp over the last 12 months. The app hasn't changed drastically. This is a result of better product positioning, #marketing and (app store) optimization. It proofs that (assuming you have a good product) marketing is vital for success.
