If you are not already following my Cuse Class of ‘98 classmate and friend Scott MacFarlane, you should. There is not a reporter in the country who has covered January 6th and especially its aftermath better.
Not enough people talk about what a mistake

as there is a major problem with oversupply in New York. Instead of having the entire market focused on RBNY and watching continued growth, Don Garber took the money and diluted his product.

I have the Extended Battery/AWD version. I should have around 270 miles on the battery. It reads 230 on a full charge. Does that adjust?
Or, we could take the funds earmarked for that stupid Turnpike widening in Hudson County and pour that into NJ Transit— allowing a better commute so you don’t have to drive into Manhattan.
I’d like to interrupt the constant doom and gloom on twitter by noting that my daughter’s bat mitzvah was today and she killed it. So proud of her. It was delayed from the spring and we did it virtually. Big ups to
@JMOlitzky
who presided and directed the virtual program.
There is a huge opening in the NYC suburbs regarding NJ Transit. Improved and expanded service is not something that has happened over the past 7 years. Big opening for candidates with the number 1 issue for voters like my wife and many of our friends locally.
Im a Dad of 2 (4yo + 2yo) and a 3rd on the way. Im just as concerned as everyone else with what NJ will be in 20 years if we don’t take bold action. I want NJ to continue to be the best place to raise a family in the country. Tomorrow we share part 1 of

Very proud to have been installed this morning as President of
@NJBuildersAssoc
for 2021-2022. It is an incredible honor to be elected by my peers to help lead the housing industry in New Jersey. I’m proud of what I do-I can’t wait to advocate on our behalf!

I teach this at the graduate level of a Big Ten University… and this is one of the best inclusionary zoning explanations I have read. If you would like an easy to understand primer on IZ… this is a great start. Does a great job explaining pros and cons.
Rob Menendez discussing “naked political ambition” is Sean Spicer level lack of self-awareness. He talks like he worked his way up the ladder and earned his position through grass roots political efforts. Statements like that are just a major turn off and politically naive.
Rep.
@RobMenendez4NJ
on next year's race:
"I will be running for re-election based on [my] record so I can continue to serve the residents of this district that I love, in stark contrast to those who may run to further their own naked political ambition."
Posting this on a day when HAMAS broke the ceasefire by shooting up a bus stop and firing rockets at civilian areas is peak 2023 and shows the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the far left.
We've now been been on hunger strike here in Washington DC for four days.
Four days without any food.
Four days of just water, gatorade, and coconut water.
Four days of sitting outside of the White House in the cold, calling on Pres. Biden to support a permanent ceasefire.
The move to

has been an absolute and complete success… for team and City. The arena sparked other development and has brought people downtown. The Devils attendance and revenue show it has been a success.
The New Jersey Devils ranked 6th in the league in total revenue in 2023
Pretty good for a small market team with no fans in the armpit of the country huh
Senator Booker was one of Menendez’s fiercest and loudest defenders during the last indictment and trial. They are personal friends and I can imagine Cory wrestling with what to say. His statement was inevitable but also well crafted.
Here in its entirety is the vitriolic, evil, antisemitic

Great progress on Phase 3 of our

redevelopment. This was an abandoned Wells Fargo and asphalt parking lot on an acre a block from the train station. Very difficult site… major stormwater retention under the building. Should be done end of year/early 2025.
I have been very supportive of the Murphy administration and I think the Governor has done a very good job overall. This, however, is a generational mistake and a colossal waste of money and resources that could and should be spent elsewhere (mass transit plus shoring up bridge).
Again, note that cities everywhere, including some nearby, are TEARING DOWN elevated highways, yet somehow

The fact you think this was a good question when no one asked the President about the pandemic in the entire press conference shows everything wrong with the Washington/national media. No one outside your bubble gives a damn about 2024 right now.
This is a recipe for disaster. The federal government has no business telling American families how to cook their dinner. I can tell you the last thing that would ever leave my house is the gas stove that we cook on.
I can’t retweet stuff like this enough. There is a real academic consensus regarding this as fact now. The population growth in NJ was not met by the construction of new housing to match.
New paper (again) finds building more market rate housing helps low-income housing too: "The Effect of New Market-Rate Housing Construction on the Low-Income Housing Market"

Twitter: I cannot use my 2 seats tomorrow night. RBNY fans only please— but first to respond seats are yours on the house. I would only ask that you make a small donation to your favorite charity and give them a shout out. Very good lower level seats.

I got last night at sunset… looking at Broad Street and Military Park. As newer buildings are built— the variety of architecture will continue to make it one of our most under-appreciated skylines.
Visited our

This shit has got to stop. The vaccine’s main purpose is to keep people out of the hospital. It just happens that it almost universally protects against transmission as well. Did you report if a staffer got the flu after getting a flu shot? Headlines like this get manipulated.
New York City pulled 278 multifamily permits in the month of July (Manhattan had NONE) and has grossly under built for a generation. While we need to invest more in NJ Transit— NJ has out-built NYC by a mile in every metric. This is disingenuous.
If NJ suburbs can ban millions of homes just to make room for cars and segregation, a city can charge suburban cars to make room for people
Sorry. Time for NJ to upzone and invest in mass transit.
This is essential reading. It is also the clearest real life example of what I am talking about when I yell into the ether: “If you are not discussing supply— you are not serious about housing affordability.”
ICYMI: In the past few years, the Twin Cities took different approaches to housing policy: Minneapolis deregulated zoning; St Paul implemented strict rent controls.
Now, class, can you guess where citywide rents have fallen, and where they've continued to climb?
Yep.
Fetterman has an almost 80% approval rating. Just because the local anti-semites don’t like him because of his steadfast support for Israel and local Jews doesn’t mean Andy Kim should be dumb enough to ignore his support. Advice from people like this lose elections. All the time.
I agree with Amy here. Doing an event with Fetterman would be Andy Kim actively showing open contempt to progressives, who he has enjoyed enormous support from that is not exactly commensurate with his alignment with the progressive wing on the issues
I don’t know how you can be in management of

and say “I like where we are with Gerhard Struber leading us.” After his inexcusable behavior last week, this week again shows there is nothing on the pitch worth keeping him around.
Sherrill has told top donors she is all in for Governor— and made those calls in the weeks before the Menendez indictment. I’ve had two donors of that class tell me that as I am pretty stunned that she doesn’t want the seat.
One reason talk has intensified about First Lady Tammy Murphy for Menendez's Senate seat: U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill, seen by many Dems as the fav for the seat, has strongly suggested she's not interested. 🔒
After 18 months, just closed a big deal for my company that will result in a LOT of construction jobs and 120 units of new housing. It is an Opportunity Zone deal that would not have gotten done but for the OZ $. So excited. More to come soon.
Some personal news: we closed about 10 days ago with Lakeland Bank and construction is in high gear (we started over the summer with equity). Lakeland is an incredible partner and we are proud to get this kicked off. (1)
When you are defending people who violently broke into a building, took maintenance workers as temporary hostages, and destroyed the property- you have lost the plot. Then again, as an adult he pulled a fire alarm to delay a congressional vote. 🤡
Today is my last day as President of
@NJBuildersAssoc
and it has been an incredible honor serving with so many amazing folks. I am now “Immediate Past President” which means I get to continue to advocate from the board level for housing and our industry. (1)
This is unconstitutional. Plain and simple. I am looking at a number of deals in Newark right now— and if this passes I’m walking away. /// Hoping to stay affordable, Newark plans rent control on new apartments
@SethAMandel
Seth: the answer is not banning them. The right political move was to let them go around the country with that group and be exposed for who they are: vile anti-semites. Instead they are given widespread sympathy.
This is the most significant federal bill for Northern New Jersey in 100 years. The funding of the Gateway tunnel plus investments in both public transit and repairs of roads is huge for all of us. This is a long time coming and means everything to all of us that this passed.
For years, we have been calling on our leaders in Washington to get serious about replacing that extraordinary turn of the 20th century infrastructure with even more extraordinary 21st century infrastructure. Today, Congress answered that call. -TM

That’s my Senator and that’s my friend. The ignorance and incalcitrant nature of those trying to have a “conversation” is the biggest problem with the far left. They had no interest in what he has to say.
I'm not usually a fan of Cory Booker, but I commend him for spending his time explaining his opinion of the ceasefire deals as they disrespected him over and over.

This is HUGE for Newark and long overdue. Kudos to former South Ward Councilman John James who was a tireless advocate for rail access at the airport and to Mayor Baraka and his staff as well who have long pushed for this.
Port Authority approves a $160m street connection to EWR's rail and AirTrain station, offering a direct link for Newark and Elizabeth residents to Amtrak/NJ Transit/AirTrain. A commute to NY Penn will take just seven minutes instead of the 40 minutes by bus today
