🇵🇸 Journalist. Mother. I write about anti-Palestinian repression. Working on upcoming documentary “The Reason of State” Trailer +project linked in bio.
Hello everyone! I am so excited to announce a COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT documentary project that I am working on called, The Reason of State! Here is the trailer
"They've all been killed, oh God, oh God, all my siblings have been killed, I can't handle it"
A boy is grieving over the loss of his siblings who were all killed in an Israeli airstrike on their displaced family's tent in Khan-Younis
In Germany a nine year old girl was speaking Turkish to her friend during recess. A teacher over heard her and demanded she speak German- they punished her by forcing her to write a paper on “why we speak German in school”. Then her parents sued the school and won. ❤️
After living in Germany for about two years now, I can confidently say that I don't believe I can leave the house alone without my husband or at least a family member with me.
My Palestinian friend who wears a hijab was enjoying dinner with her friend in NYC when this man was seated at the table next to her . He repeats to the waiter , “I don’t want to be seated next to people who want me dead.” Then he tells her “I am Islamohobic I hate all Muslims.”
She just dangled there. She dangled there as if she was a slab of meat recently slaughtered by the butcher.
A child dangled at the side of a building as her body nearly cut in half. This is the stage of genocide we are in: children’s lifeless bodies dangle for a “diversion.”
He was working...saving lives..when he found out it was his son who was among the dead. Evil. Evil this state, this settler colony, this murderous regime and its interlocutors. All of you. Evil.
A Palestinian doctor is shocked to receive the body of his son and find the rest of his family injured while he is at work inside the hospital in
#Gaza
.
They shot him… in front.. of his child…
They shot him in front of his kid. In front of his store in broad daylight!! what is this barbarity. Violent. Evil. All of the words can’t describe this level of brutality !!!!!!
So let get me this straight. Israel drops leaflets in Northern Gaza today basically saying that if you're still in the area you are considered a terrorist and will most likely die and they don't care if you are disabled, elderly, or have no where else to go 1/
It is obvious the world is starting to move on from Gaza. Know that just because you don’t see dead children on your screen as often as you did, doesn’t mean it’s not happening anymore.
We owe Gaza our endurance. Please don’t quit.
Don’t forget Israel is still massacring Palestinians even during this court proceeding… they’re bombing central Khan Yunis to bits as were all glued to this livestream… 💔
Remember when they told Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate and live in tents? Yeah well they just bombed a family LIVING IN A TENT and killed 10 children. The father: “my children died cold.”
"THEY THREATENED TO RAPE ME, I RESPONDED JUST SHOOT ME INSTEAD!"
Nowhere nowhere nowhere in western press are they showing these stories, talking to these women who either get kidnapped, abused, or punished for the curse of being Palestinian.
The so-called "most moral army in the world" issuing rape threats to a pregnant woman they've already forcibly stripped in Gaza. Even after she disclosed her pregnancy, they heartlessly proceeded to beat her in the head and belly.
October is the month of the olive harvest. It is supposed to be a joyous month where Palestinians return to their olive groves with their families and visit their ancient trees that have provided them with a livelihood for generations.
My husband called his family in Gaza today. His little cousin said he wants to brush his hair before he sleeps in case he dies in as a shaheed (martyr)
He wants to look nice in case he dies.
I can’t handle this.
Israel bombed my favourite place in Gaza today. The ancient Great Mosque of Gaza, Mesjid Omar built in 1344.
This photo taken last yr. I can’t imagine the ruins that exist there now. How many murdered here because of the air strikes. Will we ever find out for sure?
The situation in Berlin is extremely tense. Police are literally arresting anyone they seen on the street who even says “free palestine” or wears a keffiyah. An hour ago German police arrested one of the most important Palestinian activists in Germany,
@RamsyKilani
I can’t believe what I’m watching. I never believed I’d see such a protest in Cairo. The fact these people are risking their lives chanting what they’re chanting , fully knowing the regime can imprison them at any given moment is an act of extreme bravery.
I am out of words. I can’t believe this.
They targeted Wael Al Dahdouh’s son Hamza along with other journalists who were in a car.
Hamza Al Dahdouh, his eldest son, and respected journalist was killed. Murdered by this genocidal regime.
My God. My God.
It’s very weird to try and live your life while a genocide is taking place. The other day I ran out of olive oil and I found bottle wrapped in plastic hidden in the cupboard. It was olive oil from Gaza my mother in law brought with her a month before the war started.
Ahed Tamami is one of 100s targeted in witch-hunts in recent days. Settlers have been inciting against her, and chief inciter
@itamarbengvir
sent troops to kidnap Ahed from her home during the night. a fake screenshot, an account she doesn't own, yet he posted a "victory" photo.
Living in Germany as a Muslim woman means I have to forfeit my independence for my safety. I rather stay at home than risk being humiliated time and time again.
Thank you all for your prayers, but Sama and her young brother Hassan and her beautiful mother, Wisam are dead. Killed by Israel, supported by your governments, paid for by your tax dollars. I believe in heaven because I cannot imagine never seeing her face again..💔
Hey guys - thanks we found him: Dakota Stern.. sexual abuse litigation paralegal. How nice to know an islamophobe and racist was working with the most vulnerable of victims.
I cry all the time- but for some reason, this morning it was this: paramedics drinking juice and laughing, believing it’ll be the last time they’ll ever drink it alive. I love my people so much..
Good. How dare this world think they can aid an actual genocide , kill over 12 thousand people and still get to have a parade to forget their crimes…
Shutting down a thanksgiving parade in NYC by pro- Palestinian protestors. Amazing.
Every single time I have in fact, been alone outside, I've been met with a racist German who takes it upon themselves to let me know I'm not welcome here.
There’s no way I can possibly describe the complete and utter dehumanisation of the Palestinian people. This man’s pain when he spoke was so profound , but no one listened to what he said. They just tried to descredit him.
This country really is horrible. I can recount multiple times where very similar things have happened, and when I was with my son too. But they never happen when I'm with my husband. No one dares says a thing,
You killed my friend. Someone I kept praying would stay safe. Someone I messaged daily bc his resilience gave me hope. He laughed in the face of the genocidal maniacs everyday he stayed alive never allowing them to think he was afraid. You killed him.
You killed Refaat Alareer.
“Who are you videotaping for? Is anyone seeing your reporting son? We are dying for 120 days now we don’t want anything, just a little bit of security and no country or institution helps or hears us. Just go home to your children instead of dying like how our children died.”
Dystopian. Evil. A checkpoint with a camera/facial recognition and a loudspeaker tormenting Palestinian refugees as they are forced to flee their homes: “Khaled Mashal did you send your suit to the dry cleaning today?” followed by “women and children pass only.” A genocide.
I am so happy that there are parents that stand up for their children against racist teachers. This bullying tactic of “assimilate or leave” that Germany has adopted will run its course soon enough.
I have no words. Please watch this. They were told to leave so they did. They were asked to carry white flags so they did. They were told the south is where safety is so they left to go there. Ahmed and many others were still killed. On camera. Fuck this world.
1 minute later, she still is yelling at me. I tried telling her this isn't some library where I had to be silent, but couldn't get a word out as the whole starbucks filled with white women joined in to yell at me calling me a nuisance (the phone was almost at the lowest volume)
The latest example was when I was at a mall and forgot I had a zoom meeting. I ran to the nearest starbucks inside the mall (wasn't enclosed or anything). My husband took my son took a walk to wait for me.
Since the beginning of the invasion of Gaza by Israeli regime forces we have heard hundreds of testimonies from Palestinians of sexual assault.
Today, a UN agency finally reports on it in a press release;
"You're the only disturbance" one of them said. Then out of no where this man comes up to my face and asks if I understand what they're saying and that I had to leave. He calls over the starbucks worker to kick me out.
The chant : “Stop genocide” was banned in today’s protest in Berlin.
Also banned the alternative slogan: “from the river to the sea, we demand equality.”
A joke.
In just a matter of a few minutes a German lady said my phone was too loud (i could barely hear the phone and it was already very loud in the mall that was surrounding the starbucks). Still, I moved to the far corner away from her so I could try and continue my meeting.
We often wonder how journalists are still standing, doctors still operating and people still trying to exist despite the carnage and extreme barbarity of the Israeli state. Well my husband tried to explain it to me. He lived during the 2008 assault on Gaza..
Israel bombed the main drinking water supply in Jabilya just now and here are people witnessing their only source of water run through their streets. Israel is sending a message to Jabilya that existence there will now be impossible. Where are they to go…?
Palestinians in Gaza are suspicious about posting about their families on social media-there have been a number of cases of Palestinians advocating for their families, only for their next post to be about their deaths. Now they are advising each other not to post, not to advocate
This great artist on TikTok posted this beautiful video of Refaat’s poem. I still cannot believe he has been dead for more than a month now, and his beloved Gaza is only mourning more and more.
and 4,300 Palestinians were killed since October 7th, almost half of them children, and Biden and Germany still talk about the "success" of Israel as if it means anything other than our complete annihilation. I am not surprised just feel completely defeated.
This is so evil. We need more people paying attention to Israeli media. “We don’t trust Palestinian death number”- well here’s Israeli media, using it to keep score on how many kids they killed.
Israeli TV running a counter of fatalities in Gaza – most of whom are civilians and many of whom are children – under the heading “terrorists we eliminated”. And for those too lazy to drive to Sderot to watch the genocide, they’ve got you covered with a livestream of the bombing
Then they bomb absolutely everywhere in southern Gaza: hospitals, churches, residential buildings, heck even bakeries.. creating even more displaced people and instilling even more fear that it won't matter where you are in the Gaza strip 2/
Welcome to one of America’s top educational institutions, Princeton … where they teach that “Israel harvests Palestinian organs”
No, it’s not a joke. This blood libel is actually on the syllabus for a humanities course this coming year.
More and more I am realizing that the genocide of the Palestinians is not unique. We’re not “special” in anyway. In 2009 there was the Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka. Till this day, their suffering is not recognised by the international community or even classified as a genocide.
I know that international bodies have done little against genocides in the past and probably won’t stop the genocides of today- but it is incredibly emotional hearing acknowledgment of the Nakba, dispossession and murder of my family being stated so strongly by 🇿🇦
A message from a Palestinian American from NJ to President Biden: “this is what my fucking tax dollars are doing- to bomb my family. But you know what we will survive. My message to the world- you failed us. To the whole world: fuck you.”
7 hospitals in Gaza are out of service, doctors reporting using vinegar to disinfect wounds and operating without anaesthesia all while only 20 trucks of humanitarian aid was allowed to enter Gaza as Israel cut off water, electricity, and food 3/
IDF terrorists have taken hostage every man in the neighbourhood where my husband’s aunt is taking shelter. Door to door. Reports of executions but no one dares leave their house to confirm. Pure terror that you will only condemn in 10 years it seems …
Here’s a German “reporter” taking unsolicited photos of Muslim women just so he can ridicule their choices. The entitlement of German men thinking it is their right to see a Muslim woman’s face. I’ll start wearing the niqab just so I can be your boogie man.
An Instagram Story i wrote on the treatment of Rohingya refugees became viral on Indonesian social media. I guess I could be quiet and let this die, but I’ll double down instead.
The attack from Gaza may be a surprise to some, but if you’ve been paying attention literally every single damn day in occupied Palestine where the murder of young and old is common place, you’ll ask why there hasn’t been a response sooner.
“ there’s no video she’s lying.” My beautiful powerful friend did take a video- he just got extremely scared and shut up immediately. I’m tired of the hatred we get for existing. I usually hate the idea of doxing not giving people chances, but screw it. Actions have consequences.
Berlin police just canceled the entire Palestine Congress. I was the only speaker that successfully finished a speech.
Salman Abu Sitta was cut off after 1 minute. Our livestream ended and electricity cut off.
This is Germany.
THEY TOLD PEOPLE IN THE RANTISI HOSPITAL TO EVACUATE. THEN THEY SHOOT AT THE EVACUEES!!!
they are urging for the Red Cross to provide them with protection so they can leave!!! They are besieged by israeli tanks!!
After living in Germany for about two years now, I can confidently say that I don't believe I can leave the house alone without my husband or at least a family member with me.
My heart just stopped.
I saw a video of a child actively bleed out and die in the arms of his mother because of an Israeli shrapnel lodged in his neck…
I quickly scrolled but the image is burned into my mind forever.
I’m actually shaken I can’t believe what I just saw.
Police in Frankfurt, Germany detained two of my friends today. One for a sign that says “bombing children is not self defense.”
And another because the fist is “offensive.” What the hell is going on here. Unconstitutional. Ridiculous.
Our men deserve life. Our men deserve dignity. He is still a child. A 17 year old who deserves to live free from the shackles of the settler colonial regime and the terrorist Israeli army.
We had a rare phone call with a relative from Gaza last night. My husband's cousin told us that all supermarkets are closed. There's no more wood left for their makeshift fires to make bread. Once a day he tries to charge his family's phones wherever he can find some power 1/2
It is indescribable how worse it feels to live in Germany during such a grim time. I cannot walk outside, hear the language, speak to a German without feeling dehumanized. The grimacing stares from blue eyes haunt me. Eyes complicit in the murder of my people.
Yeah so you remember how civilians are trying to flee to the south? They just bombed them as they’re fleeing south.
They bombed civilians trying to escape bombing. A massacre just took place. No where is safe. No where.
I wonder how many of them are still alive. I wonder if they have a home or are they sleeping on the floor in a school or hospital. I wonder if they had something to eat today. I wonder how many of them are the sole survivors of their families.
Ahmed Abu Artema posted about his son on his Facebook today- tried my best to translate his words, but his eloquence and prose is too difficult to capture simply. Nontheless, I tried as everyone should remember Abdullah Abu Artema. He is not a number.
I gave birth to a beautiful boy early Tuesday morning that I thank God for every second since.
Our happiness however can’t overshadow the fact that we didn’t share this joy with my husband’s grandmother, aunts, uncles +cousins in Gaza who we could not contact for over a week.
I don’t even know how to write this. Israel dropped leaflets once again in Khan Yunis but got more specific in their demands to leave. Where is our family supposed to go? My husband’s 87 yr old grandmother is forced to leave her home- a home she barely leaves when there is no war
Today a baby on a ventilator in the Al Nasr Children’s Hospital died because the hospital ran out of oxygen. The reality was a baby that could have been saved was killed because of the genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza.
Journalists like
@WaelDahdouh
and others gathering around under bombardment…. “We will stay here until the pain goes away.”
Our heroes, our warriors, our truth seekers. I love you all so much as if you were my fathers, cousins or brothers. May God protect you all.
22 yr old Hala Kasim from St Louis was detained by Israeli soldiers for trying to enter Jerusalem with her family. She’s a US citizen. Her family is trying to get her home. If anyone knows how to help please tag or comment!
Graffiti on a wall of a middle school in Munich, the Heinrich Heine Gymnasium school. “Kill all Palestinians.”
Will this be condemned by German politicians? The media? The government? Of course not.
My family group chat in Gaza are advising each other on how to make sure they don’t breathe in the white phosphorous bombs that they believe were dropped near Khan Yunis. The stench is unbearable. “Keep a damp towel near your mouth” .. “close your windows” “don’t rub your eyes”
This interview absolutely absolutely killed me. How can you sit there like a fucking robot and tell a man who had 21 members of his family brutally MURDERED about how horrific Hamas is when he is living proof israel isn’t targeting Hamas. This is disgusting and an outrage.
I didn't “lose” 21 family members.
Israel KILLED 21 members of my family, including my father, two brothers, 3 sisters, and 14 of my nieces and nephews.
I submitted this map of my great uncle's hand-drawn map of our village that was ethnically cleansed on of Jimzu on July 9th, 1948. He remembered every detail and house. It was even submitted in a museum in Chicago..that was later taken down due to pressure from Zionist patrons..
Israel destroyed the remainder of the limited medical supplies as well as medical equipment inside Al Shifa according to doctors that are in communication via phone with Al Jazeera just now. But please show us more photos of IDF soldiers posing with incubators.
I wish you didn't have to die. I wish it did not become a tale. I wish your words and commitment to liberation were realized before you were murdered, not after. I hate that they listen to us only in death. Yes the whole world knows your name but they should have known it before.
