1. Source of the rumour? While I have seen several in the $TSLAQ group claiming that this is a deliberate leak from Tesla to pump the stock, that feels unlikely. I suspect this came from the Indonesian Investment ministry in an attempt to look good and boost their image.

2. Pros of Indonesia as a manufacturing base. Indonesia is lovely and I love it dearly. Expats assigned to work there often do not leave, the people are wonderful and you have Bali on your doorstep. Labour costs are low - avg manufacturing salaries in Q3 were $193/month.
