2. The belief and confidence that you can pull this off.
“Anyone” can’t accomplish this without acquiring the skills & belief.
This 💩 don’t work. Been in meetings like this before and the whole team leaves the meeting and makes fun of & mocks the coach who just did it. 18-23 year olds see right through this.
You don’t win because old men have control over you. You win because you have better players.
I remember sophomore year in high school we were playing Penn Hills and we were down 28-0 at the end of the 1st quarter... but we believed we were gonna come back... and we rallied... one play at a time...
and we only lost 54-7
Funny story..
Freshman year, summer 2007, my teammates and I waited at Walmart until midnight when they would release the game..
6am workouts the next morning but we couldn’t wait to see ourselves in a video game..
Get home and load it up..
I was a 58 OVR black dude.
Ran 100 kids off the team, demoted staff members that he hired, coaches leaving, players decommitting, haven’t won a game since October 7th.

I know sports aren’t the most important thing during this time.. However, I can’t stop thinking about the high school and college senior athletes affected by this. Hopefully this can help put sports and their role in many lives into perspective.
One of our female athletes went to a commercial gym this past weekend..
She was warming up to Squat w/135 when a grown man ran up to her saying:
“Hold on! That’s a lot of weight for a girl!”

I can’t consider you a good coach if you don’t have an impactful relationship with your athletes outside of the sport. You don’t have to be a father figure or a friend.. But if you can’t help your kids connect the dots from sport to real life, you’re doing it wrong
Why did you get out of coaching college football???
- So I can raise my kids.
- So I can be a present husband.
- So I can spend time with my family.
- So I can have more freedom.
- So I can spend 8 straight uninterrupted days fishing on the beach.
Coaches.. if your stud athletes are playing multiple sports, it’s ok to let them miss off-season workouts to play the other sport.
If you give them ultimatums, you will run them off the team.
THEY WILL QUIT YOUR SPORT FOR THE OTHER SPORT.
YOU WILL LOSE YOUR BEST ATHLETES.

Absolute joke. How many coaches skip bowl games to chase millions?? And leave their newly signed recruits to be coached by someone else they didn’t commit to. Kids have a very small window to make a lot of money and set themselves up for life
The weight room is only a piece of the puzzle when it comes to sports performance. Nothing you ever do in the weight room will be directly specific to what you do on the field.
You better be sprinting, jumping, changing direction, and most importantly practicing your sport.
