I've posted this before, but the discussion of abortion is IMPORTANT. It is literally the difference between women being autonomous people who can choose their own futures without having to explain to ANYONE ELSE and slavery to someone else.
@Kissmyazz24
I've seen it before & I'll share it again. Being a single parent is damned hard but pushing someone to have a child because a part of you think she'll step up to do the hard part is manipulative. No sympathy. Parenthood is a huge commitment and no one should make it for another
@prochoicewoman7
@QuillsWrites
I've been going to public bathrooms for 50+ years. I've never once seen anyone genitals while there. Why would I care? My bathrooms at home aren't gender specific and we do just fine.
@DoomScroling
Not to mention that raising a child is a 24/7 job that lasts decades after birth and doesn't preclude a woman working, too. Men can and do help. But not all men and not all of those that do take 50%.
The impact to women tends to be far more severe.
@AngryBlackLady
Ruptured membrane, partial miscarriage, ectopic pregnancies, hemorrhaging mother, in no cases will you have a baby. None. But you can save the mother.
This is what SCOTUS is considering. Letting a mother die for a heartbeat in a fetus that will NEVER become a child.
@ask_aubry
He's saying, "What do I do to get back what I had and didn't appreciate?" He's saying he wants split custody SO HE DOESN'T PAY CHILD SUPPORT. Hasn't wasted one word on, what can I do to be a better parent, better husband, better person. Just wants her to forgive and forget.
@bdk1521
It's not that they want to find a special woman they can bond with, it's that they think women are sex toys and don't like the drawer closed on them. "What's the magic I need to take to get it opened for me?"
Be a good companion so she wants to spend time with you?
@snide_sally
It is atrocious that a child, after the trauma of rape, should be pushed into carrying their rapist's child. That's insanely cruel.
But it is unconscionable that any human being should have their body and future hijacked by the views of unrelated people.
@DoomScroling

@JessPected
This is why I hated most romances as a kid. The ones I read were stuffed to the brim with rape culture, books for women written by women. Heroes raping women for imagined slights and infidelity, ugh!
I make a point of fostering the characters I want to normalize in my books.
@RebekahWriter
@eddsmitty
No NASA and all the contractors that go with them. No Fort Hood. All those US businesses will go elsewhere. No more federal oil subsidies. Want to visit your sister in Colorado? Now, you're the immigrant
@thescottbarber
I wouldn't be surprised if it was like most cat lovers' conversations with their cats, where they'll meow back and forth and the cat goes back to its mates and says, "Still makes no sense, her grammar is terrible and what a potty mouth. Let's take a nap on her folded clothes. "

To survive as a species, men need a source of female eggs to fertilize, incubators, someone to care for the resultant children, and do all the work they're too "manly" to do.
Women would need frozen sperm and a gadget to open jars.
These men know it, too. They're scared.
@RadioFreeTom
I work as a contractor for NASA and we're taught the same thing. I have to verify my conflict of interests are effectively null every year.
@DoomScroling
@hsrivney
We're not talking about teens marrying teens. We're talking about children groomed/assaulted by older men and, instead of prosecuting these predators, they want to lock these children into marriage with their own rapists. Marriages they can't even escape until they're adults.
@Kissmyazz24
@Aborti0nRights
If I put my steak in front of you and you eat it, you're a thief. I have to give you permission
If you touch, fondle, or penetrate my body without my permission, you're wrong, you're ALWAYS wrong. There is no excuse. It's mine and only I decide if I share it.
@ask_aubry
As a woman with personality, I can say with assurity, most men aren't looking for that. These are the same men wanting women (with their own income) who will take all the household chores, raise children, and defer to them in everything. That is not a personality.
@AndreaR9Md
Babies born at 20 weeks don't survive. At 22 weeks, the rate of survival is very low and we're generally talking about a year or more in the NICU. And often a life of struggles.
@PrezLives2022
In the courtroom, they were fighting the judgment THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN MADE. The courtroom was to determine the penalty, but they didn't address that at all. Too bad for them. Next time, get competent lawyers.
@DoomScroling
If you WANT to have sex with someone unwilling, you're a rapist. And there's something desperately wrong with you.
Who in the world wants to have sex with the unwilling?
@BadMedicalTakes
Every man should have to wear a 9 mo empathy suit for a week, complete with bladder pressure then go through 10 hours of simulated through electricity child birth so they know why we have to be careful what yahoo we have sex with.
@zanyfen
And that now that women
have more choice than ever in careers and in embracing being single, the notion of tying yourself to an insensitive demanding creep who sees you as a possession/sex object holds no appeal. Men want partners without being a better partner. Yeah, no.
@kylegriffin1
It's Trump calling the shots, desperate for "equivalence" with the capable Biden. Trump doesn't see why manufacturing a crime isn't working.
@ask_aubry
So, men get a little uncomfortable because women distrust them. Well, shit, that's a MUCH bigger deal than possibly being sexually assaulted or killed by someone you gave the benefit is the doubt. Bad women! Bad! /s
@BraupH
@ask_aubry
Don't hate yourself. Just be a good person. I don't want more than that. But feel free to hate the bad ones who give the rest of you a bad name.
@DoomScroling
If a man doesn't want a child, he can not leave his sperm in a woman. If he does and a pregnancy results, he is not entitled to insist a woman carry a child for him. Similarly, he can't tell a pregnant woman she must abot to suit him. Be makes a mess for her to clean up, too bad
@PJSenter
@JoJoFromJerz
So we're going to trust people with mental health issues buying a gun for mayhem to answer truthfully? Because killing people is one thing but lying on a form is a step too far?
@_nomadic_soul
I grew up in the Mormon church. I know all about this kind of misogyny. As if we weren't the SAME SPECIES, with all the mental capacity, courage, and leadership potential as men but with a unique perspective many men will never have.
@joecool0510
@WomnOfValor
But, instead of being mad at men who have stained their reputation, men are mad at women, the VICTIMS of the men who have ruined their reputation.
And keep calling for women to be more accepting instead of demanding men be less horrific.
@ask_aubry
Altogether, children, people own their own bodies and no one--NO ONE-- is entitled to grope or penetrate that body without permission. Women, children, men, no one has to accept unwanted contact. It's not a hard concept.
@DoomScroling
If Christianity wants respect, maybe they could be less hateful. It's a good start anyway.
Ironically, Christ, if he existed, wasn't hateful at all. There's a lesson there.
@KSlatteryResist
GOP: "Experts? We don't need no stinkin' experts."
Also, "I'm not a scientist, but I won't hesitate to overrule actual scientists doing their jobs at the expense of people's lives! Whether it's communicable diseases, climate change or reproductive healthcare!"
@MandyMatney
I have a book on serial killers of the 20th century (I'm a writer) and is appalling how many men commit sexual and violent crimes for decades before they start killing for "fun" and the system let's it go until after they're a pile of corpses.
@DoomScroling
No one has the right to IMPOSE their belief that something without a functioning brain and nervous system is a human being whose rights supercede my own. Not going to debate it.
Or the fact that no one decides what I do with my body BUT ME.
@jonathanstea
My son has pica, a compulsion to swallow things. He's always had it but 2+ years ago, it turned deadly with punctured bowels, sepsis, 14 surgeries/18 mo because he swallows things when he feels poorly.
He's been on psych meds for a year. Hasn't swallowed anything for 10 mo.
@notcapnamerica
And the part these "baby killer" widgets don't seem to get, if mom gets a life-threatening condition, it's not a choice between mom or baby. There is no baby and never will be.
If mom does, baby will never be.
We're just asking, if that happens, you save the mother.
@thedailybeast
Not a lawyer but I would think his ranting and raving on the witness stand (as the record would show) and his lawyers' contribution to the misbehavior will not serve them well in apellate court or when asking for a mistrial.
@Delavegalaw
@boltgrrl
If they want miscarriages to happen under controlled conditions, they should have kept her in the hospital.
I can't imagine the trauma of trying to fish a dead fetus from the bloody, chunk-filled water. Even if she had known she was supposed to.
@Dumfukdetector
@bigredsibin
It's the men who do these horrible things that give men a bad name, not women. I wish more men realized this and helped us stand against it.
Thank reason for the men who do. I'm lucky to have known a few, and y'all give me hope for the future.
@ask_aubry
Jeez. "Women don't pay attention to my physical body even though I'm still a complete jerk. Surely, I should be allowed to grope teenagers."
Am I the only one reading this that way?
@JessupShannon
My daughter (then 11) handled her first period like a boss. Then, when it was over, she said, "I'm glad I only have those until I'm an adult. "
Oh, baby.
They have since become brutal, doubling her over with pain so bad she throws up. Life is so unfair.
@ProfMarkSherman
@jburnmurdoch
The needs most of these young men are complaining about is sex on demand from women who don't have sexual pasts of their own, who won't talk back and will meekly accept abuse.
Yeah, those days are over. Men like that need to fix themselves or be lonely.
@Teri_Kanefield
People with triggered amygdalas aren't thinking rationally. The amygdala short-circuits logic. It's not healthy to be triggered 24/7 and doesn't lead to making good decisions.
@JuddLegum
So, she was so impressed by a clearly platonic kiss that she went looking for titillating content and ended up at RW children's book club, working for them?
Sounds legit.
@AbortionChat
The same ones who go, "Child support? Is not fair that men pay child support! Why don't women [raising said child] take some responsibility?"
Right, boys. The hard part of parenthood is writing a check.
@Aborti0nRights
If only women weren't people who had minds and wills of their own so they could decide how THEIR OWN BODIES are used.
Everyone's quick to determine how someone else uses their resources. That's not right. Or natural.
@theonetonhammer
@socialist_52113
He can't produce a child at all, just sperm (which are the ones determining gender). If you can't welcome ANY child, you shouldn't have one. Which I told my ex when he was disgusted he was having a son instead of a daughter.
@_nomadic_soul
My being a mother makes me militantly pro-choice. I want my daughters to choose their own futures, get full medical care, and not be chattel or left to needlessly die.
@TheSWPrincess
@Melalexander1
Ageism shouldn't be an issue. Some people suffer mental decline in late years, but it's pretty obvious Biden hasn't.
But I don't think it has to do with age. I think it has to do with the capable, accomplished WoC backing him. And Dems playing into that should be ashamed.
@RoosleFr
And, hey, that applies to men. Men can love sports and cars or despise them. Can clean house and feed babies without losing any masculinity, can work physical jobs or intellectual ones or take care of a home. Can even love who they want. Self-assured men don't need approval.
@ponygirl923
@ProTruth4Life
I was always pro- life for me but pro-choice for others. I have 2 kids in the spectrum that I ended up having to raise alone. And another from an abusive marriage. I don't regret my kids, but I CHOSE to have them. It's hard. No one should have this life without choosing.

If you think it's reasonable for popular opinion to decide your rights and your fate, you must be a cis white male. Easy to say when your body autonomy and lives aren't impacted. RIGHTS should not be subject to the vagaries of public opinion.

You mean birth control could STOP A PREGNANCY? What a side effect!
Also, both my daughters have different conditions that require BC to address. If someone takes that away from my daughters, they will have made an intractable enemy. No one makes my girls suffer needlessly.
