Many think it will be a slow decline to 0 ICE vehicles made and sold. But legacy auto operates on slim margins even at their volume. Lose a little volume, and margins will go negative quickly. Layoffs and factory shutdowns have begun and will accelerate. Wheels coming off.

If the leading EV maker doesn't need the IRA and in fact would be better off without it, then it wasn't written to incentivize EV sales. It was written to bail out union-made ICE makers. It literally tips the scales in favor of gas-burning hybrids over BEVs.
