I'm on the 16.25 Waterford to Limerick Junction service. Nicely re-fitted interior, power sockets and wifi - but a handful of us on it. Why? There are just 2 services a day in each direction. THOUSANDS commute on the N24 every day and would love a usable service.

After reading the entire PfG and listening to both the pros and cons, I'm going to be voting NO. I ran to help both the people AND the planet. On the latter, we've made progress - no doubt. But I can't support the same social policies- steered by FF & FG. We deserve better.

Middle-aged men coming out and blaming the Greens for the state of rural Ireland is a boring trope. Get over yourselves. The Greens have been in power for a total of 4 years in the history of the state, and until this year had a maximum of 6 TDs. FFG policy led us here.

There's a certain nostalgia about our railway lines that is so wonderful to hear about, but I believe that rail can be the FUTURE for East Limerick - if we plan for it. (1/2)

Another cracking result for Limerick today 😁 A great atmosphere in town this weekend too. Something I'd like to see is later bus services so that people can stay in the city longer past 8pm. They could take the train too - if we plan for it!!

One potential solution to bike theft in Dublin would be the introduction of a scheme like Velhop in Strasbourg. You pay a pretty low annual fee (even less for students) and get a bike that is yours. Because it is stylised and generic, nobody wants to steal it (who would buy it)

Instead of criticising unionism, let's look at the complete mess we've made of Irish nationalism and nationhood. We're ruled by a junta of medics, just as we were Rome Ruled for 7 decades. The Orthodoxy changes but the crawthumping remains the same.

We need a better solution to tackling our drugs crisis. The current government policy is doomed to fail, as drugs continue to creep into our towns and villages, affecting all families. We need a progressive, radical solution that is proven to work, (1/3)

So I’ve been seeing a lot of people on here conflating cheap clothes and fast fashion over the last few days, and some pretty crazy conjecture about the objectives of the Waste Action Plan that simply aren’t backed up by a reading of the document. THREAD.

Chomh bródúil as an bhfógra seo ó @cathmartingreen . This is a massive investment in resources for kids being raised with or learning Irish, something so many parents want to do but may not feel enabled to. Excited to see where @TG4TV and @Cula4_TG4 go from here!

With the greatest respect to this member I have never heard his name, appointments are decided by the leaders not the core negotiating team. The Attorney General is an incredibly important role, as an active repeal campaigner this would not be an acceptable appointment to me.

Voter disenfranchisement is not to be sneered at. Having the GE in 2020 on a Saturday meant that more young people could vote. 2024 should be the same, particularly for the thousands of Leaving Cert students who may be disencouraged to vote if it takes place on the Friday.

🚨We have written a joint letter to an Taoiseach on behalf of youth organisations across Ireland urging the local and European elections to be scheduled for June 8th. If the elections clash with the Leaving Cert exams, thousands of students will be discouraged from voting.

Short snippet from my @TippFM interview this morning. 🐎 The State isnt meeting its responsibilities when it comes to animal welfare. 📢Populist rhetoric pitting rural Ireland vs green issues is wrong and deceitful. 🏞 Our rural renewal policy us evidence-based and will work.

@Amgfly We re-negotiate with parties we have more in common with. The key to climate justice is bringing people with you - this govt would be progressive on climate but almost status quo on the bread-and-butter issues. I cant support that.

Vaccines need to be patent-free. Protecting business interests is disgustingly selfish and an own goal for the West, as new COVID variants develop globally (which current vaccines may not be able to fight). Back the TRIPS waiver!

I've written to my @greenparty_ie colleagues in the Oireachtas & European Parliament to urge them to back the TRIPS waiver so covid-19 vaccines can be produced patent-free. I won't be taking the vaccine until HCWs & vulnerable people in the Global South receive theirs.
