Oh boy. More oil than anyone else, solid fuel use second only to Poland. Meanwhile, look at Sweden. This isn't individual choice. This is policy. Retrofitting and district heating must be rolled out.

A nice measure for those with solar panels installed, with the disregard for those selling electricity back to the grid doubled from €200 to €400. Now, to get them on more rooves and to continue to support people in their installation! (0% VAT rating continues) #Budget2024

Cathedral thinking, moonshot - whatever language we use, facing up to climate change is the challenge of our generation, and the legacy we leave the next. So let's build infrastructure that will still be relevant in 50 years, rather than stranded assets.

At times, the migration debate paints those arriving in Ireland with broad strokes, using various tags I won't repeat. But they're people, individuals, with their own histories and their own contributions to make. Having taught many kids from the DP system, I can't forget that.

@EddiePunch Hmm. There's some truth to that, but it feels a bit like point-scoring, Eddie. Should beef farmers similarly list the provenance of their inputs? Fertilisers, soya-based feeds, etc?

We can feel a small voice in the European context at times. But today, the 11 votes of Irish MEPs, who all supported #NRL , were pivotal to securing its passage. Well done @GraceOSllvn @CiaranCuffe and @noonan_malcolm who worked so hard to secure cross-party support in Ireland.

WE DID IT! We won the battle to save our biodiversity and our climate. This fight for #NatureRestorationLaw shows that everyone who believes in a future for nature is connected, organised & not giving up lightly. Together, we'll keep on mobilising to protect climate & nature.

Very positive news being broken by @irishexaminer this morning around VAT treatment of solar panels in upcoming Finance Bill. Zero VAT rating panels can knock as much as €1000 off installation cost, putting it in reach of more people, cutting payback.

I think @ClaireByrneLive is an outstanding broadcaster, but how we get through another #DBS by-election interview without a mention of #ClimateEmergency , I just don't know. There is no bigger issue, and our children will not thank us for turning a blind eye.

This day last week, I was honoured to receive a mandate from the people of #Waterford to be one of their representatives in the 33rd Dáil. Voters are looking for action on the issues in their lives, their communities, their environment. Get involved!

On the 6:00 a.m. service to Dublin. Busy from #Waterford , now standing room only from Athy. A good service, and the demand is clear. But it wants investment to expand capacity and reduce journey times.

As Oireachtas Committees are put in place this week, here's something I'm particularly proud of. My proposal to the Dáil Reform Committee that the Sustainable Development Goals be enshrined in the work of the committees was adopted. This means the #SDGs are baked in to our work.
