Tonight a hero teacher is in hospital after risking her life to save children from a savage knife attack - meanwhile some other patriots got new runners in Footlocker, helped set buses on fire, trapped people in the city and attacked gardaí.

Due to a persistent cough, Ryan Tubridy is in self-isolation.
I think this is the first time a woman has ever fully presented the world's longest running TV chat show.

People engaged into ‘vandalism and attempted murder’ are not to be considered the ‘real law breakers’.

There is definitely a cohort who have given up on lockdown now. Most people I've seen out any evening on my jog. Counted 22 teenagers practically huddled together in the park. Some over 70s out too. Cars on the road again. Did this just happen all of a sudden?

UK Metro has changed its frontpage headline for tomorrow (presumably after getting a beginners’ history lesson about Northern Ireland).
Spot the difference:
All the TDs and senators who slagged off Leo for his fan letter to Kylie can shut up now. The queue of them lining up to tell Bono how awesome he is in the Dáil chamber just now was a bit mortifying.
The moment Spanish police arrested John Gilligan & found a gun they claim may have been used to murder Veronica Guerin. Could never imagine Gardaí releasing video footage like this...

I now know Prince Harry lost his virginity like 'a young stallion' in a field, has killed 25 people, did cocaine, beat up a bodyguard, enjoyed his night out as a Nazi and that his brother once pushed him onto a dog bowel and it hurt his rear-end. Did I miss anything?
I’m far from the sensitive type but after the conversations we’ve had this year about full and equal respect for women it’s hard to see how they thought this was funny. ‘She’s not a princess, she’s a sl*t’, being just one of the “funny” slogans.

There are literally press releases in which the Dept. of Ed claimed the "overwhelming evidence" from public health experts" was "that schools are a safe environment".
Now Ronan Glynn says they never said schools are safe, just that they are low risk.
So what did we learn from the Zappone episode? Very little, it seems.
Tony Holohan was involved in designing his new job in Trinity. And Robert Watt (of €81k pay rise fame) signed off on the 'secondment' which is actually an open-ended job transfer.
It feels like November again with everyone from the church to the publicans to the gyms to the hairdressers claiming they are the one that needs to open on mental health grounds. All have very valid arguments but serious deja vu.

Isn’t this the disconnect? The fact you could buy your first (of many, many) house at age 20 isn’t a defence when you’re in a party with Fianna Fáil’s recent history.
