Firefighters from 14 UK fire & rescue services are on their way to the Republic of Türkiye to carry out search & rescue operations. The 77-strong International Search & Rescue team provides specialist support where it is needed most. Search & rescue dogs have also been deployed.
In this heat please don’t use barbecues or light campfires when out in the countryside or at local parks.

The UK FRS is on standby to assist Lebanon following yesterday’s catastrophic explosions, resulting in at least 100 lives lost & thousands injured. NFCC is in talks with government and if requested to assist, a team could be mobilised within a few hours.

On the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the NFCC Chair pays tribute to all who lost their lives, including the 343 firefighters. Fire Services across the country will be holding a minute's silence at 1346 to reflect and remember, the time the first tower was hit.
The 77-strong International Search & Rescue team - made up from 14 fire and rescue services - provides specialist support where it is needed most. The team is always on standby to mobilise and assist when requested by disaster-affected countries.
The UK is sending a team of 77 search and rescue specialists, state-of-the-art equipment and search dogs to Türkiye. This is vital support that will help locate survivors of the earthquakes.
We are quickly providing the assistance Türkiye has asked for.
