One particular project we undertook was to support @SYFR with the report of a coal seam fire. These types of fires are extremely rare, especially in residential areas, however, we were made aware of an underground coal seam fire in the Gawber area of Barnsley, Yorkshire.

We were proud to unveil a red plaque at Parkway Fire Station last week marking the sacrifice of two firefighters who died 50 years ago. Bob Smith and Paul Parkin died after attending an incident at British Steel Corporation on Shepcote Lane on 25 February 1974.

Thanks to everyone who came down to the charity cricket match last week at Norton Oakes Cricket Club! 🏏 Norton came away victorious, despite an unbeaten 31 knock from our Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Andy Strelczenie. It was a lot of fun and raised £500 for @firefighters999 🥳

Yesterday crews from Doncaster were called to Long Sandall Lock after reports that three young people were swimming in the lock. Fortunately no one was harmed but it could have been very different. Water is often colder than you think and you don't know what lies beneath. 🛟
