HM Coastguard and the Irish Coast Guard can request any of our lifeboats to launch to an incident. Our lifeboats operate under international maritime law, which states we are permitted and indeed obligated to enter the waters of other territories for search and rescue purposes.

@jessphillips Our Midlands supporters have been so kind over the years, Jess. There was even a lifeboat named The City of Birmingham generously funded by an appeal in the city. She was launched to the rescue by the @ExmouthRNLI volunteers. We can't save lives without our inland supporters!
